Back in TNP, Squirrelflight was devastated that Leafpool broke the code and had originally planned to leave her without saying goodbye. Now, looking in Po3, I noticed that both Lionblaze and Jayfeather were willing to do anything to save their Clan, even if it meant breaking the code (stealing the catmint, for example) and Hollyleaf would have been completely against this had she known.
Now, in Leafpool's Wish, notice that Leafpool didn't really tell them anything about the code when she planned to bring her kits back to the Clans. It was only after they brought the kits back, Hollykit began to feel dedicated to follow the warrior code.
So, do you think it's possible Squirrelflight taught Hollyleaf to follow the code, no matter what, so she won't make the same mistakes that Leafpool has done? She's also a female, for one, who'd be the one to have kits if she were in a forbidden relationship and somehow would have to hide their father's identity, and notice that her brothers aren't as anxious about following the code as she is.
It just makes sense to me. Squirrelflight wouldn't want Hollyleaf to go through what Leafpool did, she knew her sister went through a lot of pain, so it's possible she taught her to be loyal to the code

I really like that idea I always assumed it was her mentor, since she didn't seem as fanatic about it, until after she received her warrior name, and she even bent the rules a little, like checking on RiverClan and stuff when she was an apprentice.

It's more her quirk than something taught, Lionkit was the strong one, Jaykit the smart and Hollykit the one that tried to stick to the rules, basically she was written that way to have something to stand out compared to her siblings.
But if you want an in world reason, Hollykit wa the type of cat that always wanted the other cats in the clans to see her as important, like we see when she wanted to be a medicine cat because she felt that was a powerful position or when she mused about being leader. Her wanting to show how much she cares about the warrior code is a way to try prove herself as an outstanding clan member.
