Interesting take on those. My only problem is that I’m hoping this will not be another case of how the code triumphs all and it should be followed no matter what. There are plenty of characters who think that, and it’s become a bit cliché. I’m hoping the series goes into the legitimate flaws of the code, and someone questioning them. There’s not been much of that, and when there is it hasn’t gotten very far. The last series did this a bit, but it didn’t go very far, and some of the reasons weren’t legitimate ( such as questioning hunting for others and taking care of older cats). It would be interesting to have the broken code be about that, because there was the perfect set up for that before, but I guess we will just have to see if that’s the case.

Well, that's interesting. We're finally going to see what kind of punishment the codebreakers will get?

You know, this makes the judgment scene in SqH make a lot more sense. The Three had to have been born, but StarClan didn’t tell Leafpool to run off with Crowfeather. In fact, they advised her against it, and it was only because of a message from them that the two returned home at all. So I imagine having to force Squirrelflight to lie and cover for her sister when I could’ve just been a regular relationship and one that worked with the Code ( meaning Squirrelflight and Bramblestar) probably irritated them. Not to mention that Squirrelflight didn’t even have to protect Leafpool and she could’ve just let her face whatever punishment there was. No matter what, the Three would have still been born. So it’s another case of being irritated for a good reason over a code breaker.
And as Littlecloud points out, there’s no point in having rules if everyone keeps breaking them. The dark forest is for those who don’t follow the code in life and have no reason for disobeying it, and with such an obvious breaking of the code for seemingly no reason, it makes sense why that option would be considered.

God I hope that’s not how this is going. Personally I hate the whole “the code is great! All codebreakers deserve to be Punished!!!!” thing. I really don’t care about people breaking the code and I think a lot of the rules are just dumb.
