So I've read Squirrelflight's hope and the whole story was bad, like really really bad.
First off, when Squirrelflight brought Sunrise in the camp, Bramblestar got furious with her for bringing a rogue into the camp. However, Sunrise was injured very badly so Squirrelflight couldn't let her die. The whole idea of Bramblestar's idea of keeping the Clan united isn't a bad idea, but at the same time you can't go far with the idea that it can risk someone's life.
Throughout the book Squirrelflight gets criticized every now and then. Bramblestar threatens Squirrelflights role of deputy and tells her that the clan will fall because of her. Seriously Bramblestar is acting so paranoid that he'll do anything to please the other clans, even Starclan. The clans forcing the rogue to move somewhere else while one of them is pregnant is ridiculous and cruel. Why couldn't they just be more patient? Why didn't they think twice? Because of them Moonlight and Leafpool died.
When Squirrelflight and Leafpool were being judged by Starclan they were being judged very harshly. Bluestar and Moth Flight criticized both of them for going against their clans loyalty, but they weren't! Squirrelflight wanted to stop the clans from hurting the rogues. Leafpool was just following her heart. From what I've read im starting the hate the clans, the warrior code, and Starclan. The warrior code is not bad but yet the rules are very strict and the consequences are harsh.
When Leafpool broke the code she didn't get punished, however everybody started hating her and disrespected her. Starclan didn't even do anything to help her, just left her to suffer.
Whenever a cat does the right thing they always end up getting punished which ticks me off very badly. Starclan would reject a cat just for falling in or doing the right thing.
The 1st rule in the warrior code says that all cats must be loyal and put their clan first, but sometimes there are things that are more important.
Finally what's the point in this book? What's the author's purpose for this book? Squirrelflight failed to achieve her goal and I don't see how something good came out of this?

I haven't read the full book only the preview but. Ugh. It has ALWAYS gotten on me the way Bramblestar treats Squirrelflight, it's so demeaning and toxic both as a leader and as a mate. Down to the day when he publicly dumped her at the gathering in Po3 instead of ending it maturely in private, up until now. Like, in bringing Sunrise back to camp - a good leader like Firestar (and I'm not even a huge fan of him) would have more faith in his deputy and would praise a standard Warrior or even an apprentice for doing the same! Heck, it's the sort of thing he totally would've done. It is completely within a deputy's jurisdiction to bring an injured cat to the camp. And what is it with him constantly putting Squirrelflight down, saying cats would die because of her, and yet it seems she's the only one trying to keep him from making a stupid*** decision leading to the death of a queen! I'm just. I just. I can't.

The clans just look like villains in this book, full stop. Everyone except Skyclan and a few thunderclan cats.
They killed a queen with newborn kits for absolutely no reason. Prey was plentiful, they could definitely have waited a moon. EVERYONES reasoning was just so stupid. Harestar be like "well they might not leave in a moon even though they say they will so we might as well attack now" Mistystar "thunderclan gave windclan hunting rights back so that means shadowclan has to give us theirs even though windclan hasn't asked us for territory and we're fine on prey right now" Tigerheartstar "mistystar won't leave us alone so thunderclan has to deal with our problem even though windclan literally started this whole thing" Bramblestar "whatever i just don't want Skyclan to be pressured to move out, see I'm doing the right thing? Anyway I'm gonna let this wounded cat die because starclan hasnt said it's okay yet and I'm incapable of making my own decisions" Starclan "(useless prophecy that means nothing and never gets mentioned again)"
Seriously what even was that prophecy? Something about mountains and not seeing who the enemy is. Whatever it was it sure wasn't important.
All this book did was make me hate like half of thunderclan and like, everyone else lol. Everyone who wanted sunrise to die just disgusted me. Everyone who joined the patrol to "talk" (aka kill a cat who just gave birth) makes me so mad. Also 0 remorse from anyone. "It wasn't murder it was a battle" yeah wow 50 cats vs like 7 what a dangerous battle. So fierce
Sorry for the rant I just have a lot of.. thoughts on this book
