Which one do you prefer more? I'm gonna pick Bristlefrost, since she actually deals with her jealousy in a better, more healthier way and she's a lot nicer and more understanding. I like that in Bristlefrost's character, she's exactly what I wanted her to be. Tough but sweet all the same. Also, please be respectful in the comments. Remember, they're just fictional book characters.

I think it's nearly impossible to compare them. And in terms of her jealousy, maybe she copes with it in a better way because Ivypool is her mother and could teach her from experiences. Bristlefrost is the way she is because of wonderful parenting on the part of both Ivypool and Fernsong

So far, I like them both, but I've only seen Bristlefrost be a prominent character in one book, she still has five books to go, and anything can happen. I mean, Hollyleaf started out pretty awesome, and actually my favorite of the three, and then yeah.

I adore both of them, but I still like Ivypool the most.

Ivypool.
Bristlefrost just got on my nerves. I can't even say exactly why. I just felt like she was a camera character in a lot of the important scenes in LS, and when she wasn't, she was part of a plotline that was mind numbing for me to read about (though did have a good moment or two).
I think Ivypool is objectively much more flawed than Bristlefrost, and as you said, handled things worse, but I still found her a very interesting, compelling character, and she's one of my favorites to this day.

Not sure why they're being compared, they're both great characters. Ivypool is a great mother and raised a great child, etc. They're hardly comparable, and their "jealousy" issues were for two completely different reasons, it's also not comparable imo. It's kinda nonsensical to me to put them on the same tempo with one another. Ivypool is a character that's been established for over 12 books, and so far we've only had 2 with Bristlefrost, so we don't even know what direction she'll go in yet.
I find them both enjoyable personally, but I voted for Ivypool because she's more established as a character, developed and fleshed out in the plot. However, I am happy at how well-received Bristlefrost is so far in the fandom, and even her siblings are pretty cute, Ivypool's family is pretty amazing.

i dont think they're really comparable beyond being jealous. like, ivypool wins by default for me because she's been around for far longer and her character is more established, but bristlefrost seems pretty cool so far. we don't know how her character will be handled, and its too early in the series to judge her imo. like, i HATED needletail at first but I actually like her now
also i think its stupid to compare their "jealousy" plots because they're too different.

I love Bristlefrost so much, but I haven’t read enough about her, to properly decide whether I prefer her to Ivypool. Bristlefrost is my fave character of TBC so far, and I think her mature way she deals with her jealousy is great. But Ivypool is so much fun to read about. Her point of view was more interesting and it was nice to read about her growing from a whiny jealous apprentice to a kickass queen who risked her life each night in the dark forest. Some people think her jealousy was petty and unfair, but then, she was young, Dovepaw was treated with more respect and was even allowed to go on a quest when she was hardly an apprentice (ivypaw didn’t know about her powers), blossom fall treating her like sh*t, falling out with her sister, (dovepaw claimed that she would always be better at everything than Ivypaw, knowing that ivypaw was already insecure about being feeling unwanted). I love ivypool and Bristlefrost. They’re both great
