As much as I love Graystripe, I hope this is fake. There are many other characters I'd rather see get a SE.
If it's real, I'd be happy as long as it focuses on his time with RiverClan. That's the one point of his life we don't know too much about.

I really like Graystripe, but I feel bad for Reedwhisker (if it is going to be RiverClan centric) every other current deputy has had an SE except for him.
It seems like the only time Reedwhisker really gets any spotlight..is when he's almost dying.
Wasn't he one of the drowning kits who Graystripe and Firestar saved in the first series?
Also, Leafpool saves him from drowning in the second series.
He was attacked by a dog, and almost died in Mistystar's Omen
and then he got held hostage by Darktail.
He's a super unlucky little guy.

Gosh darn it! What would this even be about? We know all of Graystripe's story! We followed him as an apprentice, followed him throughout his forbidden love with Silverstream, saw him go to RC, saw him move back to TC, saw him become deputy, saw him get kidnapped...
On a side note, he already got a manga trilogy that took place during TNP. It was the story of how he met Millie after getting captured and returned to the Clans in POT. In BOTC he was the POV character for a story that took place during FQ when Firestar and Sandstorm were off helping to rebuild SkC and he was temporary leader.
Him and Millie had three kits in POT and eventually they retire. While it could take place when Graystripe moved to RC, is there really a story to tell here for a SE? That would be better suited for a novella. Though it would be nice to see more of RC during that time and Graystripe's vow could be him taking care of Stormkit and Featherkit. Hm.

Since it looks like we’re getting Graystripe, I really hope we get to see a lot of Feathertail and Stormfur and kits and ‘paws. I have no idea while I love them so much, but I could care less about Millie’s kits.

Well, on the bright side, maybe we'll learn who Graystripe's father is if it's about his time in RiverClan with his kits, then maybe he'll have memories of him and his father, or something?
Though, in the first series, the dads didn't pay much attention to their kits, but things have been ret-conned before.

If this is real then I am truly baffled.
Would it really be that hard to write an SE about a character in a Clan where everyone is a blank slate except for the cats in power and where if you throw anything at them outside of the main plot it wouldn't affect the overarching story? Because seriously I would gladly take a Reedwhisker SE over Graystripe and I adamantly don't want a Reedwhisker SE. There is more potential for a RiverClan SE than a Graystripe one, as far as I'm concerned.

I emailed working partners to confirm, while also complaining about how we have NO MODERN RIVERCLAN POVs.

Every other possible time period has been fully explored. We know literally everything about Graystripe. Personally, I hope it's about his time in RiverClan. That has the most story potential imo. |

If it is real, it'll probably center around Graystripe's significant moments in life that were offscreen; his birth and growth before meeting Firestar, his thoughts and mindset during all the events over time, his relationship with Silverstream, and maybe his involvement with his family in AVoS. How he handles Firestar's passing, and his friendship with Dust, Sand, and Raven, etc, and how he adjusts to all of them passing before him, along with his family. In the end, it will probably lead to his final moments as an elder and probably revolve around the events of the recent series. I remember I said a theory that Graystripe seems to be catching onto to Fake-Bramble's behavior. And I believe that he will probably die in this arc. It would be an important death, hopefully, it would also mark the end of the original apprentices and their era, since he's the only one of the original 5 left. I wouldn't mind a Graystripe SE if it's handled properly. I was completely against a Graystripe SE until I saw this comment. Now I’m almost a little excited for it—if it does end up being real. If not I’ll be fine too. |

It's official I can only hope they tie it in well and offer a good RC story in the future. I really hope this SE will be worth it, then, and not just something that could've easily happened in a novella. |

Hm. Graystripe is now an elder, but is getting his own SE with story potential that could only be told now during TBC. Yeah... he's probably going to die. Each of the original five apprentices all had a death in the limelight when you think about it. Firestar in TLH, Ravenpaw in RF, Dustpelt in BrS, Sandstorm in TAQ and now Graystripe it seems. Still wish we knew how Millie died though.

I’m fine with a Graystripe SE. I’ve always enjoyed him alot and I hope his death and memories are written well, to say one final farewell to our last original main character. I’m just happy that he’ll be with all his past loved ones again, with Firestar and Ravenpaw and Sandstorm, Dustpelt, his daughters, Silverstream, his mentor. Everyone.
