I N T R O D U C T I O N:
So you all may be wondering what this is and i'd like to explain. design trades are fun, right? I wanted a way to implement that as a
community project/event that could happen once every month. As a way to get designing experience, learn how to interpret different
themes, and maybe make friends along the way and all that cheesy garbage. Now- getting to the actual point. Every month here we will
host a design swap. Me and possibly some other future moderators will come up with a list of 5 themes. We will make a post with a poll
getting you guys to vote on a theme every month. Once this theme is chosen we will add signups for this months design challenge. Your
job is to make and create a design based off of the theme given. Then at the end of the month, I use a generator to swap around the designs so that in the end, everyone ends up with a design by someone else. It's like a monthly subscription to a free design every month but the
payment is that you put a design into the prize pool.

R U L E S:
I. *PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY THROUGH RULES AND FAQ TO AVOID CONFUSION OR POSSIBLE REJECTION OF YOUR CLAIM SPOT*
II. Please be aware that, if you sign up for this, you are making a commitment to have your design submitted by the deadline. Failure to do so could result in someone not receiving a design when they put time in effort into creating a design for you. Please acknowledge this and be courteous to other participators in the event. Giving a notice that you cannot complete a design will only be acceptable if you are able to give the notice a few weeks in advance. A few days before the deadline, where it might be impossible for me to find someone to fill your spot leaving someone without a design, you might receive a mild ban of three months from the group where you will not be allowed to join another monthly event until three months have passed. I'd hate to be that harsh but i'm a college student and want this to be a fun community event. I don't want to have to spend 3 hours the night before a big assignment making sure I have enough designs ready for everyone to receive? If you fill an application I expect you to be able to finish and that you understand that you have to. it makes it a lot easier on everyone else and the group as a whole. That being said. don't join if you know you cannot make the deadline.
III. Please note that the design you make will be given to another person. If you make a design that you want to keep based on the theme given, i'll allow you to keep it but you must be able to create another design to put into the prize pool.
IV. If you have a specific request for a type of design you'd like to receive. I.E: "i can't draw cats so i'd prefer dog-based designs" let me know! I will try my best to make sure you receive a design that that you would feel more comfortable drawing!
V. ALL ENTRIES WILL BE KEPT SECRET UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH SWAP. what this means is, you MUST submit your entry to me via P.M. You will not be notified of who receives your design until the "Design Hub Banquet" which will be explained below.
VI. The Design Hub Banquet is held the very last day of the month and the day after all designs have been given to their new owners. This is where you can show off your new design you received, give them names, post artwork, and participate in the monthly RP where you specifically get to use your new characters in a RP. It's a nice way to show you appreciate your new design, and allow artists who have participated to see their designs come to life from the perspective of someone else
VII. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put your FULL effort into your design!!!! Yet again this is another example of being courteous to other participants! No one wants to be at the banquet and see everyone else with really extravagant designs and they're stuck with your effortless grey wolf with an eye scar and moon necklace. It's not a nice feeling. If I feel the design did not have enough effort put into it, i will not be afraid to reject it and have you either make a different design or touch it up. (do not worry if you are a beginner artist, the quality of art does not determine what i considered effort. As long as it is creative and you gave it your all, I will know and you have nothing to worry about. Because someone with gorgeous high quality professional art are not immune to effortless un-creative designs)

F A Q:
1. Q: What happens if I submit my design on the day of the deadline but it does not meet your effort standards? Will I have time to fix the design or create a new one before you give them out? If we can't is there a penalty?
A: I'm designing this in mind that this may happen, so the deadline will be about three days before the give-out date. If you submit a design and I send it back, you have 24 hours to fix the design. If you fail to finish in that time, you will be disqualified from receiving another design
2. Q: What if i put lots of effort into the design but its not to your satisfaction?
A: The rule seems harsher than it is. I just don't want you to put no thought or anything into the design or the other person possibly receiving it. For example: at my drama banquet in highschool we were assigned one person in class to make an award for, then we crafted an award based on what that person was known for that year. Everyone made these really unique crafted trophies, but the kid who got me ripped a piece of notebook paper out of their binder and just wrote the name of the award on it five minutes before class started. Your designs do not have to be sent from god but just considerate? put yourself in a situation where you get stuck with someones design that just didn't care. you'd feel a bit cheated i'd imagine.
3.
Q: What If we do not like the design we get?
A: The original artist in their submission forms will state whether or not they would like you to keep the design or if they will allow for trading. If the original artist allows for trading and you truly do not like the design, ask to trade with others with trade-able designs until you are satisfied. If you do not like your design and the original creator says no trading, then coaxing them into allowing you to trade the design lies solely in personal matters between you and said artist. Other than some specific requirements some may have, all decisions of what designs you get will be completely randomized. After I assign them, I no longer have anything to do with what happens from there. that's up to you and the creator.
4.
Q: Is the banquet a required event?
A: No. But it is preferred if you participate that way the creator of your design gets to see a bit with what you do with the character and how you build on it more. It lets the original artist know you appreciate the design and it's a good way to meet new friends and build on your characters more!
5. Q: Once we are a member for a month's theme are we a member forever?
A: No. Each month the slots will be cleared and I will post an alert thread at what time I will open slots. after they are open, it will be first come, first serve. as long as they can prove they have read all the rules and FAQ (;
6.
Q: How do we prove we've read the rules and FAQ?
A: there's a phrase you must post when you claim a spot and that phrase is "can I please use the restroom" all you need to do is post that to claim a spot
7. Q: What are these forms you keep mentioning?
A:
Screen Name:
Image/Ref of your design submission:
Trade-able or Not Trade-able?:
Some information about the character designed(keep it vague enough so people can build up the character on their own):
Is there any type of design you would not like to receive/specific requirements:
****only send me this form through PM****
8. Q: Are we allowed to show our designs to other participants before they are given out?
A: nothing is stopping you, but if you end up with each other's designs it will ruin the surprise of it but that's completely up to you. just keep it private because I WOULD like the rest of it to be a surprise for everyone
9. Q: How long will we have to finish the design?
A: you will have the whole month, but the deadline will be a few days before the end of the month so I can have time to sort all the designs, plan the banquet, fill in for missing designs, or allow time for corrections that need to be made.
