When Jaypaw was teaching Cinderpaw how to swim, it confused me. He's blind. How should he have known, when he nearly drowned the first time?

I think this time he was in shallow water and the same movements to exercise the injured limb was probably just teaching him swimming movements and he didn't realize it.

The water was shallow...like how it is used for hydro therapy. You don't actually swim you just walk in water. I don't think the water was deep enough for actual swimming

This is a little offensive to me because I have a niece who is deaf. Swimming doesn't really involve seeing anyway. |

This is a little offensive to me because I have a niece who is deaf. Swimming doesn't really involve seeing anyway. Erm.. it is just a question, no need to take it personally. I never said blind people were helpless so please don't just assume I meant that. |

How is being deaf even related to this question? I never said that they were helpless. Jaypaw is blind. Being deaf is not related to this so please do not put words into my mouth

i could be wrong but i think most mammals are born with the knowledge and ability to swim; so that could explain it
but yeah i see where you're coming from; being blind would make swimming a lot harder
also silverstar; please don't take something like this personally. it's a conversation about cats
edit: there's also the fact with the shallow water, but that's been stated before

Cheyenne she wasn't saying he was helpless simply because he's blind. that was you and that was why she said you were putting words in her mouth. she's simply wondering how would he know how to swim if he was blind and had drowned the first time. the two factors interrelate, i'm assuming. it's not like she was saying "ummm jay cannot be swimming. he's BLIND. fricking BLIND!!! he needs to know his place and learn what he can and cannot do when blind. like come on now!! -_-"
