Sandtrout » While he had told Dandeliontail he would just be in camp, the temptation to go outside and perhaps do some hunting with the two apprentices was strong. Maybe if he didn't really do any hunting and merely observed the sisters during their own hunts then he'd be fine. Besides, it would be good to make a report to their mentors about their progress. Somebody else observing them would be a good idea. He could perhaps see things their mentors hadn't been able to.
Deciding he would go ahead and take this chance to leave camp, Sandtrout followed along behind the apprentices. Besides, some cat would need to keep an eye on them as well; two apprentices out alone made for an easy target if any predators were out and about.
"So, where do you two plan on going?" He asked, curious about where they'd be hunting today. He didn't have anywhere in particular he'd like to go, so he was leaving it up to Leafpaw and Forestpaw to decide there.

" Forestpaw thinks she's better at catching fish than I am" Forestpaw purred in amusement."more like you think you're better at catching fish than me sis"she taunted back cuffing her sister over the ear. "now be quiet before you scare all the prey off with you serious attitude Leafpaw"

sorry i havent been on, i've been dealing with a stomach bug or something these last few days oops Sandtrout » Sandtrout couldn't help but twitch his whiskers in amusement at the two sister's friendly bickering. He could remember doing the same with his own siblings when they were still alive, but that had been seasons ago. The last of his siblings, Whitefur, had died not too long before Sandtrout had decided to retire. Watching his sister have so many complications as they entered into old age had been one of the largest pushes Sandtrout had had to retire. It had been...hard watching the white furred molly suffering as she had. But he didn't need to concentrate on all that. He was here to have some fun with the younger members of the Clan. He could focus on memories later.
"I was always better at fishing than hunting land prey," Sandtrout admitted after a moment. "It's how I got my warrior name. See, I had been out with my mentor, Hawkstar - that's right," he added, going on yet another tangent within the first one, "my mentor was the leader, or well, she was a warrior back then, but anyway, and the Clan had been going through a bit of a hard time with prey. So I suggested we try our luck with fishing. After getting Hawkstar to go along with it, we went on out to Clearwater River. We stood there for what felt like hours before finally, finally, I spotted something in the shallows. I slapped a paw in and dragged out a huge trout! Hawkstar was mighty impressed, I tell you that, and when we got back to camp I was applauded and praised and that night I got my warrior name." The old ginger tom puffed his chest out as he finished his story. Now, how much of that story was really true could be left up for debate, but Sandtrout was going to stick with his version of the tale until the bitter end.

(yeah ive been quite busy myself and i hope your feeling better now) forestpaw looked at him with big sparkling eyes. " did you ever fish out of the clearwater pond though?" leafpaw asked being much more composed than her sister

(Sorry these don’t have coding, I have to redo my cat pics and I don’t wanna do that right now, oops)
Interactions with Pebblepool were always so...well let’s be honest here, they were straight up weird. Moonpaw didn’t like them, the rest of the clan didn’t like them, no one really actually enjoyed these.
However, Pebblepool was her mentor, and as such, Moonpaw had to be...understanding, and even more than that, she should really learn to take her advice as well. Pebblepool was medicine cat for a reason, and if anyone knew what was going on with StarClan and herbs and all that stuff, it would be her.
Didn’t make any of this less weird though.
Hovering awkwardly in the entrance of the den, Moonpaw let out a quiet, faint, unsure chuff of laughter. Nothing was particularly funny right now, however laughter was an instinctual reaction to the weird and awkward for Moonpaw. Growing up with Sunpaw as a brother did that to someone. ”Ah, right, rosemary, I can definitely pick some of that up, no problem,” Moonpaw agreed, not hesitating for a moment to turn around towards the exit. ”Alright well if that’s everything then I think I’ll just be on my way, okay byeee,” she excused herself quickly, already leaving the den when Pebblepool’s voice stopped her.
Perking her ears, Moonpaw listened to what her mentor had to say.
”When the big cat comes, don’t blame yourself. What happens is what needs to happen.”
Moonpaw furrowed her brow, tapping her paw slightly over the surface of the den before finally she turned around to face Pebblepool, head titled to the side as she got a good look at her eccentric mentor. ”...Big cat?” She questioned tentatively, watching Pebblepool closely for a few moments as if trying to gauge a reaction.
What was that supposed to even mean?
Was it some weird cryptic prophecy? Or was Pebblepool just confusing her dreams with reality? Either way, her words left Moonpaw feeling heavy with a feeling she couldn’t quite place.
However as much as she wanted an answer out of her mentor, Moonpaw also knew the patrol would be leaving soon and if she didn’t hurry, she’d miss them, and that’s definitely not what she wanted to do.
So instead of pressing for more answers, she just quietly stepped back. ”Alright well, I’m gonna go, but let’s talk about this later, okay?” She asked but before getting an answer - lest that answer be no - she already turned around and padded quietly out of the den to join the patrol and hopefully put Pebblepool’s words behind her.

[Also really short Shadowcaster one]
Continuing to give out directions for the clan, Shadowcaster paused as her brother and Mumblesnow approached.
She tipped her head to the side, flicking her tail back and forth as she looked at the two of them.
”Something important, hmm?” The Deputy inquired, letting out a small mrow of amusement. She liked to think that she was a decent enough deputy, giving away a good amount of assignments for the rest of the clan without picking favorites, however it was still kind of funny to her for her brother of all cats - and Mumblesnow but she wasn’t related to him as far as she knew so it was less funny - to come to her and ask for something of importance to do.
Gently pushing against Clamtooth’s shoulder with her own, Shadowcaster chuckled slightly under her breath. ”Now don’t tell me you’re finally getting power hungry after all that, Clamtooth,” she teased lightly, sitting back down in front of them. She waited for a moment before nodding in response, putting the jokes on hold. ”Teasing aside, I don’t actually need much else done right now, but if you two want to go hunting, we could always use more food for the clan?” Shadowcaster suggested as she looked between the two to see if that would settle their need for importance for now.

Clamtooth » From already being nervous and knowing he had messed what could have been a normal interaction up, Clamtooth was visibly jittery with nerves even as he got his sister involved with his need to do something of importance around camp. It wasn’t like he was asking for anything insanely big to do, but he just wanted to do something that made him feel a bit more important than an apprentice. He just wanted to do something a warrior would do, something that would make the Clan proud of him and make them think he was worthy of being not only the son of two highly respected warriors, but the brother of the deputy as well.
His nerves eased ever so slightly when Shadowcaster pushed up against his shoulder. He managed a low purr, his littermate’s touch and tease calming him down a bit. ”You know me, always ready to take your spot the moment something happens,” he joked. Really, Clamtooth could care less about becoming deputy or leader one day, he just wanted to make his family proud.
At the suggestion of hunting, Clamtooth pricked his ears forward. ”Yeah, I can do that.” He nodded, relaxing a bit more. Hunting was important, and with a litter on the way food was more than important for the Clan to have right now.
The light-furred tom turned his gaze to his companion, waiting to see if the other warrior agreed with the hunting idea or not.
Weaselpaw » By the time Moonpaw had finished up with whatever Pebblepool had for her to do, the patrol had mostly come together. Weaselpaw at least was shuffling his paws nervously over the ground as he waited for his friend to make her appearance. Every so often he would cast his amber gaze over to where Pelicanthroat, his father, stood pacing back and forth as he waited for the patrol to head on out. The ‘paw knew he probably shouldn’t be doing all he could to avoid his father, but they....they didn’t have a very good relationship and he wasn’t ready to accidentally start something with the cat that had fathered him. The last time he had spoken to Pelicanthroat had not gone well, and Weaselpaw wasn’t ready to face that again, especially not in front of the morning patrol.
From the corner of his eye he spotted movement. Turning his attention toward it, he instantly had a smile pull at the corner of his lips when he noticed it was Moonpaw making her way over to the group. ”What did Pebblepool say?” He asked. His fur bristled with excitement, amber eyes bright with anticipation. ”Can you come?” He really hoped so. Going on patrol with Lightflame and Batpaw would be no problem, but Pelicanthroat was a totally different story and just being around his dad put him on edge. For as much as Lightflame’s and Batpaw’s presence helped, having Moonpaw there would really set Weaselpaw at ease. Plus, considering he had been out and about almost all night, he was starting to get hit with a wave of drowsiness that he knew he could get over with his friend at his side.

Mumblesnow with Clamtooth & Shadowcaster
[ Feathertalon & 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 ]
Flickering his blue gaze towards Clamtooth, the gray tom shifted on his paws. He titled his head and let out a soft hum. He had a few ideas where they could; however, they could discuss this out in the forest. Mumblesnow was itching to get out in the forest and out of the noise of camp.
Turning on his paws, Mumblesnow beckoned with his tail for Clamtooth to join him as he headed back towards the camp exit. "I was thinking about going near the pond?" he stated, almost in a questioning manner as he gave the silver spotted tom a curious sidelong glance. Prey was running good near the Clearwater Pond, it was something he overheard other patrols speaking about. Also Mumblesnow did enjoy sleeping even if his long fur didn't dry at well. "I heard we can find a good amount of prey there," he mused, his mouth was practically salivating at the thought of fresh mice, bird, squirrel or fish. Maybe they could nibble on a piece while they were out. None of the clan was starving and everyone has eaten.

Clamtooth » Honestly Clamtooth saw nothing wrong with the comment made by Mumblesnow. If a cat loved hunting then why should they have to hide that? It was nice to hear that this activity would be something his companion would enjoy. Clamtooth would hate to make Mumblesnow do something he wouldn't enjoy, so this was reassuring to the spotted tabby tom.
Now that he had something to do, Clamtooth felt his anxiety and worry lessen. He breathed out a sigh of relief before giving his sister one last nod. With a flick of his tail, Clamtooth turned to Mumblesnow, green eyes warm as he looked the other tom over. "Anywhere in particular you'd like to hunt?" He questioned. While Clamtooth himself preferred fishing over actual land hunting, he was fine to go out and try his luck on catching a few squirrels or mice. If he got lucky he'd be able to take down a bird, but bird catching had never been the thin-furred tom's strong suit.

Moonpaw » As Moonpaw stepped out from the cold den of the medicine cats - which she supposed did include herself - the atmosphere around her changed instantly. No longer was everything dark and cold and honestly kind of eerie as she waited for Pebblepool to announce something kind of creepy like she literally just had, instead everything was decently bright and cheerful, with the buzz of morning excitement licking the air.
Moonpaw would be lying if she claimed it didn’t soothe her nerves and smooth over her ruffled pelt.
It wasn’t that she didn’t like Pebblepool or anything like that, it wasn’t even that she completely hated being her apprentice either.
It was just...Moonpaw experienced things she didn’t exactly know how to handle, a lot of stuff - especially at night - had her spooked by morning. She had contemplated telling someone about it all but always backed out last second, lest they decide she was actually crazy and keep her separate from everyone else and labeled her as the local clan loonie.
That probably wouldn’t happen, but at the same time...what if it did?
Moonpaw really didn’t want to be known as the clan weirdo, especially since she was already in the running for the rank right now, considering she was Pebblepool’s apprentice.
With all of that bothering her already, Pebblepool had a way of...pushing her towards the edge on accident, it made being in her presence a little difficult.
Shaking her head, Moonpaw tried to clear her thoughts as she padded on out of the den and saw Weaselpaw coming towards her.
She let out a purr in greeting, quickly forgetting - or trying to at least - all about her interaction with Pebblepool and the cryptic message it had ended with. ”She said I can come!” She explained happily, flicking her tail in response as she looked at the other apprentice.

Clamtooth » Clamtooth wasted no time in following after Mumblesnow. His paws were itching to get out as well, and he knew the longer he stayed in camp the less likely they would bring a bountiful catch back. The last thing he wanted was to give the Clan a reason to think he wasn’t doing his job as a warrior. He didn’t want to disappoint his Clanmates, he didn’t want to make them think less of him. Maybe he shouldn’t worry about proving himself worthy, being named a warrior should have showed him that the Clan thought him capable, but it wasn’t something he could control. If Clamtooth could control it he wouldn’t be thinking those thoughts in the first place.
Once outside he was able to clear his mind. He focused his attention on Mumblesnow for a moment, listening to what the other warrior had to say. He couldn’t help but feel a flow of relief go through him when the pointed warrior suggested hunting near the Pond. Clamtooth could easily fish there and if Mumblesnow wanted he could go after more land based prey. ”That works with me. We’ll be able to bring something good back.” He had heard a few other warriors mentioning how good the hunting was in that area over the past few days. It seemed like the prey had been migrating toward the water, and where prey was abundant hunting was excellent.
With a destination in mind, Clamtooth picked up his pace and headed toward Clearwater Pond, ready to prove to his Clan that he was worthy of being a member of EdgeClan.
Weaselpaw » There had been a sense of worry that bubbled inside of Weaselpaw during the time Moonpaw had been inside Pebblepool’s den. He didn’t think there would be any reason for the medicine cat to tell her apprentice that she couldn’t tag along on the patrol, but Weaselpaw had no idea what ran through Pebblepool’s mind. He had never really interacted with the medicine cat beyond going to her for a thorn that had lodged in his paw pad about a moon ago, but he knew there was something...off about her, and that was putting it politely. He meant no harm, but the medicine cat was certainly something else. No cat could possibly tell what the blue furred female was thinking, and honestly he didn’t see how Moonpaw handled being her apprentice, but those were thoughts for another day. Weaselpaw couldn’t say much considering he wasn’t exactly the typical apprentice.
Moonpaw’s appearance pushed aside any lingering thoughts that had tried to stick inside his mind. A smile came over his muzzle when the young molly padded over, and that smile only grew when he was given the news that Pebblepool had allowed Moonpaw to join the patrol. ”Great!” He chirped, visibly excited that his friend could come. He then turned his attention over to the older cats, silently wondering when they’d be heading out. It seemed like the whole patrol had gathered by now, and if they were going to get anything done this morning they needed to head on out. Plus, the sooner they started the sooner they would finish, and even with most of the cats on the patrol being ones Weaselpaw had no problem with, he didn’t like the idea of staying around Pelicanthroat for any longer than he had to. He knew he shouldn’t think like that about his father, but they didn’t have the best of relationship.
Weaselpaw shook his head. Now wasn’t the time to get lost in those thoughts either. He had a lot on his mind, didn’t he? And that wasn’t even everything he had to think about, and he knew by the time this patrol was over with he was going to go through a wide array of different thoughts. But that was okay. If all went well he would have Moonpaw to talk to, even Batpaw as well if the new apprentice wanted to listen.

Mumblesnow with Clamtooth & Shadowcaster
[ Feathertalon & 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 ] Mumblesnow could almost feel the tension release from his shoulders as he crossed the threshold out into the forest. The tom's stride lengthen into a graceful yet swift gait as he steered Clamtooth towards the pond. He couldn't help but feel relieved and somewhat satisfied that the silver spotted tom agreed with him. "Wonderful," he meowed in a soft tone before flashing Clamtooth a small yet happy smile. It hoped Clearwater Pond didn't disappoint them both; prey shouldn't disappear but knowing Mumblesnow's luck, he might be in trouble.
He was already planning splash into the water like a apprentice that never seen the pond before. Hopefully, Clamtooth wouldn't mind if they had a bit of fun while they were outside of camp. 'Work first, play later,' a voice spoke helpfully in his mind and the corner of Mumblesnow's maw twitched into a faint smile.
