Introduction Hi there, and welcome to н υ n т e d ! I'm ʟ ᴜ ᴍ ʙ ᴇ ʀ ᴊ ᴀ ᴄ ᴋ ♀, but you can call me Kale, Lumber, Khaleesi, Umbra, or really any nickname you can think of. This RP is based on a school rivalry between the towns of West Field and Brecken Ridge, with a twist - the towns, and thus the schools, are home to supernatural creatures. We open in August, as the kids start back at school. The major plot of this RP will be dormant for the first few weeks of school, as the action doesn't take place until a main character (one I will RP, don't worry) is taken. RP Rules forum rules. all forum and ghost rules are my rules. please be mindful of them, and follow them as you would in any other rp.
activity. this rp does not require 'all day every day' levels of activity. we all have lives, and some of us have to work or attend school outside the forums. so i don't expect this to move as quickly as other rp's might. however, i do ask that you try to rp at least two or three times a week, in order to keep us moving steadily.
literacy. i'm a stickler for literacy - i ask that you put out at least four or five lines of rp per character, per post. more would be ideal, but i understand low muse and don't want to seem too strict. the only thing i will not accept is one-liners. mostly, just try to match what your partner is giving you.
realism. okay, so i realize that the fantastical elements of this rp make 'realism' a bit subjective. just don't go overboard with crazy eye colors, as sirens are really the only ones who have wacky eye colors due to their eyes matching their tails. please don't god-mod or powerplay, and remember that you can't win every fight every time or dodge every hit. all fighting and romance must be kept at a PG-13 or lower level, please.
species creation. if you think of a species of creature that i have missed, please tell me! but don't create it without discussing with me first, as i might think the species is too OP and choose not to include it. i am willing to negotiate. ^.^
even genders/school placement. please make sure you have an even amount of each gender, meaning at least one boy and one girl, as well as an even distribution of your characters in each school. i'd hate to have thirty girls in brecken ridge and only four boys in west field, ya feel?

hospitality. drama and fighting in-rp are all well and good, but please refrain from arguing or getting into drama with our members OOC, as i'd hate for anyone to feel unwelcome.
lgbt+. this rp is very welcome and accepting of the lgbt+ community, and if you find that you might have a problem with that, then this might not be the rp for you.

tardiness/absence. we do not allow tardiness or absences for class. each offense is a strike - after three strikes, the student will end up in detention for every tardy/absence that follows.
curfews/lights out/dorm maintenance. curfew is at 10 pm, and lights out at 10:30. dorms will be inspected on a monthly basis. your room must be clean enough to walk in, with no hazardous material that could be tripped over or run into.
cheating. cheating is strictly prohibited. those caught cheating will first face detention, then suspension and/or expulsion upon repeated instances.
bullying. bullying will be punished severely, as we are a bully-free school. first-time offenders will be suspended, second-timers put on probation, and any following offenses will be reported to the police.
destruction of school property. destruction or defacement of school property will be reported to and handled by the police.
power control. all students must maintain proper control of any and all powers they might have. failure to do so that results in the endangerment of students or staff will be punished with detention, followed by suspension if it happens again.
smoking/drugs/alcohol. any and all students found to be in possession of drugs, cigarette, or alcohol will be reported to the police and placed on academic probation, as well as enrolled in rehabilitation classes. any further offenses will be punished by expulsion.

Plots PLOT TITLE - (status) description
Characters Involved:
T H E . H U N T (status: in play, dormant) Students and townspeople are disappearing, left and right. At first, it was thought to be a couple of runaways. But then the bodies started appearing. It was almost ritualistic, the way they were killed. Immediately, everyone blamed the humans. Who else knew enough about the town that they knew who was, or wasn't, 'different'? Just as the towns get ready to go to war, it happens. A human is taken. Her body turns up like the others - and suddenly, both towns are in serious danger. Who is killing these people, and why? Can the towns figure it out, before it's too late?

C O L D . F R O N T (status: dormant) Up in the mountains, it's hard to get by without a warm coat. That's what the students of West Field and Brecken Ridge have discovered, as they settle in for their week long trip to Mount Shui Lodge. These environmental science students get prepared to go hiking, but what they don't realize is that a large winter storm is coming their way. When the storm hits, the students are caught out in the woods, hopeless for help to find them, and freezing. They stumble upon an old cabin, and take refuge in it's walls. There, they decide to wait the storm out, and hope that someone can find them. Will the students survive the storm, or will being stuck in a cabin with their fiercest rivals drive them to insanity?

The Towns
West Field (located at the top of the picture) is a nearly land-locked city, connected to Brecken Ridge by the isthmus on which the bridge is built. West Field is the more urban and modern of the two cities, making it's money on fashion design and the farms located on the outer ring of the city. West Field is home to the larger of the two werewolf packs between the cities, lead by the Wilcox family. Their vampire coven is smaller, though, and lead by the ??? family.
Brecken Ridge (located at the bottom of the picture) is almost entirely surrounded by the bay in which it is found. It is connected to West Field only by the isthmus that the bridge rests on. Of the two towns, Brecken Ridge is the oldest, and you can tell by looking at the cobblestone roads and worn-looking buildings. They have the larger vampire coven, lead by the Bain family, and a smaller werewolf pack, lead by the ??? family. WF Rec Center. The West Field rec center is a newer center, complete with a basketball court, a pool, and soccer and softball fields. It's the most popular hangout for West Field students when school isn't in session and work hasn't started yet.

Court's. A West Field restaurant that specializes in barbecue and anything grilled, popular for its close proximity to the academy. Friday nights are always free for students, as they rush here after game nights.

Apple Bloom Park. West Field's dog park, always full of young students and their dogs. It's also a busy werewolf spot at night, due in large part to the treeline that connects to the forest on that edge of West Field.

Music Hero. The only music store for miles - many students work here for at least one summer in order to earn a little extra money. For all your instrument, music, and lesson needs, Music Hero is the place to go.
B R E C K E N R I D G E
Cap's Hook House. The only bait shop between the two towns - it's the place to go for all who have a passion for fishing. It's not the most popular joint, but a good place to go for a summer job.

The Underground. The Underground is a Brecken Ridge restaurant that specializes in seafood and fried foods. It's a popular place amongst the students, especially after game nights.

Cherry Blossom Park. The dog park in Brecken Ridge is much like the one in West Field, always filled with people and their pets. At night, it plays host to Brecken Ridge's smaller werewolf population.

BR Rec Center. The Brecken Ridge rec center is an older center, but was recently renovated and has added volleyball courts, a pool, a track, and a lacrosse field.
N O M A N ' S L A N D
The Pier. The pier is the area of the isthmus were most fishermen will dock their boats to fish, or just dock their boats on general. Some of the more well-off families keep houseboats docked here.

Emerald Bay Boardwalk. The boardwalk is a small strip of shops and cafes along the pier and the nearby parts of the isthmus. It's one of the more popular tourist spots in No Man's Land.

Cliffpoint. A cliff overlooking the bay, mid-range between both West Field and Brecken Ridge. It's famous for being a makeout spot, but also frequented by students who just need some time to get away from the hustle and bustle of town life.

West Field Academy
West Field Academy is a largely athletics-based academy, though their arts program is nothing to scoff at. They're the more modern of the two schools, and also the most reinforced, due to the larger population of werewolves. Their colors are red, gold, and green. West Field is the home of the wolves.

Brecken Ridge Academy
Brecken Ridge Academy of the Arts is a largely arts-based institution, but they pride themselves on their sports program as well. They're the older of the two schools, and also the darkest, as they have fewer windows to help their larger vampire population stand the sun. Their colors are black, blue, and white. Brecken Ridge is the home of the bats.

Supernatural Species ( commonality - amount available )
banshee. Banshees are an Irish harbinger of death. Her screams signal death or danger, and she often has visions of those in dire need. With enough practice, she can use her screams as a weapon. Banshees have accelerated healing. ( rare - 1 / 4 )
seelie. The Seelie are a Fae Folk species that are the size of normal humans. They're separated into the Summer Court, or the Seelie Court, and the Winter Court, or the Unseelie Court. They have magical control over the elements belonging to their court,as well as other mild flora and fauna magic. ( uncommon - unlimited )
werewolf. Werewolves are an animalistic species that can change between wolf and human form when angry or called upon by the alpha, though they usually need a running start to do so. In wolf form, they're almost three times the size of normal wolves. The packs have a mind link that allows them to speak to each other, and each tribe usually has one chief, or alpha. Power passes down through blood unless given up. The alpha of the West Field Academy pack is Jon Wilcox, and the alpha of the Brecken Ridge Academy pack is ???. ( common - unlimited )
vampire. Vampires are a species of the undead that feed on blood - animal blood gives a vampire golden eyes and human blood gives a vampire red eyes. Vampires are only Bitten, and every newborn starts out with red eyes until the bloodlust passes and they learn to feed on animal blood. Not many vampires have powers other than enhanced speed, strength, and senses and invincibility, but those that do have a power unique to them. Sunlight irritates but does not burn them, like a headache that won't go away. They are invincible unless burned or ripped apart. Vampires are matriarchal. The matriarch of the West Field Coven is ???, and the matriarch of the Brecken Ridge coven is Scarlet Bain. ( common - unlimited )
siren. Sirens are a magical species that can switch between siren and human form at will. In each form, they have scales that match the color of their tails on their cheekbones, elbows, and hips. Their eye color also matches the color of their tails, which can be any color except for black or white. They have magical, enchanting voices that calls humans to them, but they only use their Voice in order to call those with Siren blood who haven't awakened their powers yet. They have enhanced speed, strength, stamina, and stealth, as well as powers of hydrokinesis and cryokinesis, with rare cases of seismokinesis and aquatic animal communication. mermaid. Mermaids are a magical species that switch between mermaid and human form depending on whether or not they are in water. Each mermaid has a different power, and all mermaids look the same in mermaid form - golden tails and scale tops. ( common - unlimited )
nephilim. Nephilim are the offspring of a male angel and a human female, and are considered to be vessels for angels to come to earth and live like humans for a week, during Samhain. They have no real powers, other than some sort of sixth sense that another Nephilim is near. ( uber rare - 0 / 2 )
daemon. Daemons are unrelated to demons. They're a sort of "guardian angel" for humans - a level between god and humans. They have no real powers, except for a sense as to when someone is in danger. Typically, they only have one charge, but if not charged yet, they can protect anyone. ( uber rare - 1 / 2 )
nymph. A nymph is a Greek female nature spirit, said to inhabit rivers, woodlands, or any other natural area. They have flora and fauna powers. ( uncommon - unlimited )
kitsune. A Kitsune is a fox spirit, a sort of "trickster" with magical abilities. There are thirteen types of kitsune known: Tengoku (Heaven, Celestial, Light, Prime), Kukan (Void or Dark), Kaze (Wind), Seishin (Spirit), Kasai (Fire), Chikyu (Earth), Kawa (River), Umi (Ocean, Sea), Yama (Mountain), Mori (Forest, Woods), Sanda (Thunder), Jikan (Time), and Ongaku (Music, Sound). Kitsune do not have fox ears and tails - instead, they have what is called an "aura guardian", a sort of defensive aura that covers them, though it does resemble a fox. They earn their tails as they grow more powerful, and by rubbing their tails can generate "fox-fire", a lightning or fire manifestation. Their eyes glow orange when using their powers. hell hound. A Hell Hound is a "bearer of death and guardian of the supernatural" that inhabits a physical body. They are extremely durable and impervious to flame, can generate vast amounts of fire and heat around their body, and have accelerated healing, enhanced speed and strength, and supernatural senses. tiefling. Tieflings are a species of demon-blood creatures, who look very human, but have demonic characteristics such as horns, tails, etc. They have very minor powers over what their demonic aspect represents. ( rare - 1 / 4 )
shapeshifter. Shapeshifters are a species of shifter capable of entirely becoming the animal that gives them their abilities. They can only become one animal, and often have enhanced speed, strength, and senses, and accelerated healing. ( uncommon - unlimited )

Reagan Farrow Witch ; Brecken Ridge
Reagan Farrow was a friendly girl, but even she felt anxious at being around everyone again. She sat quietly at a table in the cafeteria, watching the red mist of her magic as it rolled around her fingers. She could feel it, in the back of her mind, shoving at her nerves as if it would push them out itself. Her magic, while not entirely sentient, was sensitive to her emotions, and very protective of it's host. Her hand enveloped in the bright red mist, she flicked her wrist upwards and a rose appeared, brilliant and metallic in color. She twirled the rose between her fingers absently. It was easy magic, if only to take some of the strain of holding it back off. Her magic was powerful, stronger than most of the others in her family. It had been no real choice, sending her to Brecken Ridge. She needed teachers - and Brecken Ridge offered some of the best magical teachers there was. West Field had been an option too, but the island town had called to her, and Reagan new better than to resist the call of magic.

Leilani Alheri Daemon - - Brecken Ridge - - In the Cafeteria - -
Leilani tried never to stray too far from Reagan at any given time, not since the last time she got a paper cut and didn't have anyone around to put some anti-infectant and a band-aid on it. Now more than ever Leilani wanted to make sure she was there for her, after all, it was the start of a new year, a time of high stress for anyone, even the most confident and friendly. The beautiful mocha skinned woman sat on the opposite side of Reagan, looking down at her Iphone (which she was just really beginning to understand for the first time...) This summer had been a summer of discovery for the Daemon. Being that she was from a completely different realm, she had to become adjusted to Earth technology, and culture. Video games were particularly enthralling - but Leilani didn't like sitting in one place for too long accomplishing nothing...
"You alright?" She spoke up, raising her dark gaze from her phone to glance up at Reagan. It vexed her to see her companion - well, more than that, the two were almost like family. According to the Earthen calendar the two had been together for years, but Leilani never really kept track. At first their relationship was that of business, but it didn't take long for the witch's charming personality to nestle directly into the angel's heart. Now she would die for Reagan not just because she was contracted to, but also because she wanted to.
"You look nervous. Eat something." She spoke curtly, her words coming across as more of an order than those of worry. Leilani pushed a small glass try towards her that simply had upon it a carton of white milk and a shiny red apple. |

Reagan Farrow Witch ; Brecken Ridge
Reagan's relationship with Leilani had always been one of her favorites. She'd never been in the dark about who - about what - Leilani was, and why she was there for Reagan specifically. Over the years, and she'd lost track of the number, they'd gotten as close as friends, or maybe even sisters. Reagan knew that Leilani would die for her. She also knew that she would die for Leilani.
"I am nervous. Thank you," she responded, placing her rose down so that she could take hold of the apple and bite into it. "Something just - I don't know, something feels off. My magic... it feels like it senses something, but I can't figure out what. There's been no reports of anything wrong, no fights, no anything really. But something just-" She cut herself off with a growl, gesturing wildly. She hated that she couldn't find the words, couldn't figure out why she felt so on edge despite knowing that she was safe.
Finishing the apple in a few quick bites, Reagan took a drink from the carton of milk and then leaned her body forward. She placed her hands on her forehead and rubbed it, as if that might convince her magic to settle. She'd need to find a conduit, soon, if this is just how the first day was going. Maybe she'd take up succulents, or boxing. She'd never been one to fight for real, but exhausting her body with dancing and skateboarding had always helped drain the strain of keeping her magic from setting itself loose. Jon Wilcox Werewolf Alpha ; West Field
Jonathan Wilcox had been alpha of the West Field werewolf pack basically since he'd stepped foot on the campus. As the eldest child of the alpha of the entire West Field pack, it had only made sense to the other wolves that he be in charge. No one seemed to care that he'd been fifteen at the time and could barely walk without tripping over his new gangly legs. It had been four years since then, and he'd long-since come into his tall, muscular stature. He walked with the confidence of someone who knew that he could handle himself - and with the training his family went through, no one would doubt that he could.
At the moment, he was growling in frustration as his wolf itched to break free and run. Ten minutes. School had been in session for ten damn minutes and he already wanted to ditch and let his beast run. Mother Moon, what was wrong with him?
Well, no, he knew what was wrong. He'd gotten into an argument with his father that morning, as he was starting to come into his dominance more and his father was, well, his father. Power was preparing to pass down to Jon, and the two of them were butting heads more often than usual because of it. He could only hope that no one would try to pick a fight with him today. He might very well lose control if they hit the right buttons.

School had never been Bracken's favorite place. It wasn't that he didn't like to learn or anything, he was fine with that, it was just that he hated the fact that school was a place he had to be social and "get along" with other people, especially the large amount of werewolves that prowled the school. Of course, it was just his luck that he was stuck in the one school that held the larger werewolf population. He knew that was fate's wicked sense of humor messing with him, and he hated it. He was just a freshman yet he was already so prepared to leave this dumb place. Maybe he could get himself transferred over to the other school, but even then he would still have to deal with a large amount of people, and that was something he had no fondness for. Basically, either way he went he was doomed. Unless he decided to be home schooled, but that had its own difficulties for him as well. Home wasn't...it wasn't somewhere he liked very much either. So all three of his options were ones he hated. Maybe he just needed to get up and leave and run away, run far far away and find himself living off the grid. He could do it. He was young, full of vigor, and a vampire. He could do that and survive.
The young boy shook his head to free himself of those thoughts. The thought of school was only causing him to grow all the more irritated, and he was only about ten minutes into the school day. Basically, in a summary of it all, this day wasn't going to be good for him or the people who had the misfortune of interacting with him.
It was in his own personal bubble of brooding that he came to find himself in the courtyard. Bracken hadn't been directing himself to anywhere in particular - though getting to his first class might have been a smart move - but he could already tell that his feet had brought him to the exact wrong place he needed to be right now.
The mere sight of the nearby alpha of the West Field pack sent a low growl rumbling in the back of his throat; his lips pulled back ever slightly to reveal sharper than average canines. Bracken was already bristling at the sight of Jon Wilcox despite having no reason to be angered by the older guy's presence whatsoever. Despite being a freshman, despite being a vampire in a school dominated by werewolves, and despite clearly being the weaker of the two, Bracken let out a sharp hiss toward the alpha male. "Why are you here? You're taking up room." Sure, the question and comment could very easily be thrown right back at Bracken, but he didn't take the time to think that through, he was just being a pest, which was perhaps his only talent truth be hold. |
