Fatid shrugged. "Well, the purpose of sex is to have children, yet plenty of monsters do it just for the pleasure. Without kids as a result. Most mated pairs eventually have kids, yes, but not all of them. Some of them can't, some of them won't."

Cally nodded, “you monsters aren’t really different from humans then if you think about it. We’re just...smaller and more fragile.” She said.

Fatid shrugged. "And we have powers. Well, most of us. You humans have nothing but your brains, but I suppose it is all you've needed." He then looked as their food was brought over. "But, there aren't as many of you as there used to be. Something will have to change soon."

Cally thanked the waiter before saying, “it’s better to be smart and use strategy than be brainless and depend on your power and muscle.” She said. She then tilted her head, “and what would they change exactly be?”

Fatid shrugged. "I don't know. Though humans and monsters will probably have to be more friendly with one another or at the very best they'll stay endangered forever." He huffed. "There's no hope of humans ever gaining their numbers back, so they'll either stay a minority or merge with monsters and spread their DNA through hybrids."

Cally scoffed, “tell that to those dogs who want to use us for money rather than protect us.” She grumbled before beginning to eat.

Fatid shrugged. "Well, it's not anyone's job to make sure you don't die out. And, to be fair, the humans that are sold as, um, servants and pets. They spread their DNA for the most part. Well, the females anyway." He scratched his chin. "Even if we wanted to try and restore humans to a good numbet, there's no hope of that. Most of them were apparently killed during the war with the supposed Tenth Warmaster."

Cally tensed a little at the thought of what might happen to those poor women and girls. She sighed saying, “I wish I could help them in some way.” She said. She then nodded, “yes, but at least some of our population remained.”

Fatid sighed. "Well, maybe that's what you can do. Instead of hunting, you can work in the shadows and try and free some humans. Might not pay as much, but maybe it'll be rewarding some other way."

“It could also be a side gig.” Cally pointed out, “I could just take leads as they come. I’m sure I’d get at least a few through hunting, right?”

Fatid nodded. "Most likely. Just try to know your limits. You probably won't be successful trying to infiltrate places like Al Canine's home or some other head honcho."

“I wont. If I tried I would be caught for sure. Then it would be the end of our friendship. Unless you buy me of course, but it wouldn’t be the same... maybe if I had some backup though then I wouldn’t be taken...”

Fatid shrugged. "I'd buy you then free you. That's the only reason I'd ever consider it. You're not my servant." He then tilted his head. "Well, when humans were plentiful, they used to travel with teams of monsters. Maybe you can round up a team. A cell."

“I doubt anyone would want to join, but I will definitely look into it. I want to help them.” She stated. Until then let’s just try to have fun.”

Fatid shrugged. "It depends. Sometimes humans can think up of some pretty neat strategies with monsters that seem unlikely. That could be you." He then went to finish up his meal.

Cally was deep in thought as she finished eating. Once she finished she sat back a little.

Fatid called the waiter to pay for the food. "Alright, let's go. We can just walk around or something until it's time to head over to the party."

“Okay. Sounds good.” Cally said in agreement after thanking Fatid for paying. “So, what are his parties like? The parties that I’ve been to when I was a teen were pretty wild, so I assume this is a little more mature.”

Fatid chuckled. "Well, yes and no. The house we're going to is the one he holds his more... fun parties at. The first floor is where the calmer party is. The top two floor are where, well... it's quite something."

“I see. If I were you I’d go to the top floor. You’ll probably find a lot of women up there, hm?” Cally teased while nudging the monster a little. “I on the other hand will not.. unless I’m drunk enough.”

Fatid laughed. "You should at least go to the second floor. That's where things get a little more fun, but not completely wild like the third floor." He snorted at that. "Yeah, second floor at most unless you plan to get completely drunk. Like, insanely drunk."

“Okay. Second floor it is then.” Cally said. She then smiled a little as she glanced up at Fatid. She would really like to see him pair off with someone tonight. He deserved it.

Fatid laughed at Cally. "Second floor." He then got up so they could leave, waiting for her of course.

A few hours later, Fatid and Cally showed up to the party. The first floor was definitely more refined, with a calmer and more "expensive" air. The two were let it, no one giving them any looks. Fatid led her through the crowd to find some stairs and head up. You could already hear the muffled beat of music.

Cally looked around, smiling at the calm environment. She allowed Fatid to lead her to the stairs. She looked excited to actually just have some fun for a night without having to stress about anything.

Upon getting to the next floor, Fatid had to open a door and they were greeted with loud music and dim lights. It basically looked like a club, though there was an area with better lighting. It was all monsters there from what could be seen, everyone happy and laughing away.

“I’m going to get a drink. You’re welcome to join me.” Cally said before beginning to make her way to where drinks were being served. She was a lot smaller than the rest of the crowd, so she could easily get lost or hidden.
