This is in my own opinion but, I don't think a novella will be enough to cover Blackstar. I see him having a super edition.
What are your thoughts and opinions?

I think too that a Super Edition is better for him but that will probably never happen. We have to see in what time the Novella is. They have two years now to make the Novella good.
Blackstar is my favorite cat for years. He is so cute to his clanmates! The only thing I don't like was Sol and that, but Blackstar called himself Blackfoot again which is the only good thing from this c:

My favorite thing about Blackstar, is his design. I hate how he killed Rosetail and Stormfur But I love how he killed that traitor Redwillow during the battle, like, he gave no cares

I know I'm most likely in the minority, but I was really hoping for Blackstar not to win. People said that Cinderpelt getting a novella would ruin her character. Well, let's watch as they ruin Blackstar instead. There's no way they can pack that much detail and history into a meesely novella for Blackstar, an SE would be much more appropriate. But now we're not going to get that because he got a novella, so now we're either getting a bunch of info packed into a ten chapter book or just one event that has a 50/50 chance of screwing up really badly. And after Shadowstar's Life and Redtail's Debt, I can't say I have much hope for this specific novella.
I would've taken a Cinderpelt or Gorsestar novella over him, honestly. I don't like him much either.

Well, I doubt we’d have ever gotten a Blackstar SE anyway. So I’m fine with a novella for him. So long as I get some Littlecloud, Tawnypelt and Rowanstar spotlight of any kind, I’ll be happy as heck.

I feel like a novella was probably the only chance they were gonna write something on him anyways. So I don't mind him winning.
There's multiple things they can use for the novella, his rogue days as a henchman, the adjustment period between TDH and The New Prophecy as Shadowclan's new leader, the Sol situation through his eyes. It doesn't have to cram everything in one novella. I would be satisfied with either one of those scenarios.

Honestly to me a lot of Super Editions feel very... fluffy. Like a lot of them feel like they took a novella's worth of information and stretched it. I don't want Blackstar to have a lot of fluff. I think if they pick which of the two major events they want to cover and stick to it, then a novella should be perfect. You can get a satisfying amount of information into a novella.
If they try to cover both time periods then it will absolutely be rushed and not good, but given that novellas typically stick to one major event (keeping in mind I've only read about 2/3 of them), I'm not really worried about it.
Plus if I don't like the book, I can just headcanon that it never happened.

Lately, SEs have been relevant to the main arc plotline, so it probably wouldn't have made sense for him to get one anyway. A novella is fine.
