i hate having a non-standard body because it makes feeling pretty a real pain (sometimes literally)
like clothes shopping is an absolute nightmare for me because i'm a rectangular build, so only a few types of cuts look flattering on me, but more annoyingly i have a VERY high waist so the waistline of dresses rarely fit me in the right place. i have to buy them in the petite section even though i'm 5'7". similarly pants never fit me correctly, because if it fits on the hips it's too tight at the waistband (which is the middle of my hips) when i sit, but if i size up to fit at the waistband it's too loose everywhere else. i'm so glad high-waisted pants are in style now because those actually fit me comfortably (even the highest high rises are still below my waist though). i'm also a 2 but for some reason, stores around here NEVER have my size. i'm lucky if i find something under an 8 on the rack. and i'm sure i'm not alone on this, but i'm just a little on the busty side for my size (proportionally) so even when i do find a fitted top/dress in my size it's always just a little too small in the bust region.
i also hate my eye shape so much. they're super hooded with a low brow bone, so my eyelid almost entirely disappears. which means i can't wear eye makeup no matter how much i may want to for special occasions. 'cause you can't see it. i've tried tight lining liner so many times (hence title) but it never shows. you can't see any shadow applied and it just mixes together on my lid. whenever there's a big outing all the other girls get dolled up with fancy makeup and i feel so plain that i can't wear anything.
it's just so, so frustrating not being able to wear what everyone else can. i'm tired of trip after trip to the mall and always returning empty handed because nothing fit, and feeling lackluster because i can't even wear eyeliner. (i don't even like makeup much, but it'd be so nice to feel a little extra for special occasions)
sometimes i just wanna scream, ya feel

I have quite wide hips, but really short legs. So when I try on jeans that are the perfect leg-length, I’ll be squeezing into them at the waistline. And when I find the perfect fitted jeans at the waistline, they’ll be too long for my legs.

I can’t do that I don’t have a sewing machine or have the skills. And my grandma would probably have a heart attack if she saw me trying to fix my own clothes

I’m very short, only 5’0. I’m also kind of chubby. I had to take a corticosteroid for several years due to an autoimmune disorder that almost killed me. I needed it to repair my kidneys. A major side effect of steroids is weight gain, and I just haven’t been able to lose the weight I gained no matter how hard I’ve tried (so I’ve kind if given up tbh, my weight has stayed around 120 lbs for over a year though so that’s nice)
As a result I have really prominent love handles and a bit of a belly. So jeans don’t fit properly. If I get jeans that fit my legs, they don’t fit around the waist. Most pants, even children’s and petite’s, are too long for my legs.
I also have problems with my hair. I needed chemo drugs to kill my immune system to stop it from killing me, and the chemo changed my hair. It’s always been fine and tangled easily, but it was much thinner before, and it was perfectly straight. Since about a year after the chemo, I’ve had wavy, thick hair, and I still haven’t gotten the hang of caring for it. It gets matted if I don’t brush it three times a day.
