Can we take a moment to appreciate the level of symbolism behind these names?
Rootpaw- Raising kits in SkyClan is Tree's roots into the ground. They keep him tied to the Clan and helps him be more connected to it. Rootpaw's inherited Tree's pelt color so it'd make sense to give him a similar name.
Needlepaw- Needletail was the one to bring Tree and Violetshine together, and the only real reason Tree cared about the Clans in the first place. As a carbon copy of her mother, it makes sense that she'd be named after the most important cat in Violetshine's life, after her mate and kin of course.
The editors have really stepped it up after giving us some terrible names in AVS. There wasn't a single new name that I hated. I'm excited to see what other cool names that'll come out of TBC.

I agree some of the new names in TBC are really nice, like Bristlefrost. I'm excited to see what their warrior names will be.

And Needlepaw's warrior name may have also leaked. On the official website she was referred to as Needleclaw.
