◇Nettlestep◇ Fawnhearts rose briarfurBorder Patrol As the patrol progressed the storming weather seemed to be getting worse. The drops of rain felt heavy on his pelt as the he pushed through going against its wind blown path. Nettlestep did his best to scan through the open land to see the hills infront of them that led to the Grasslands. "There is no point!" He called to the rest of his patrol who was following behind him. "We would never be able to gain any information in a storm like this. The only thing we will get if we are out in this storm is a cold and a scolding from the medicine cat." Turning away from the grasslands Nettlestep confronted his patrol. "Lets hurry back to camp and hunt on the way. With this weather prey will be scarce and I'm sure the hunting patrols aren't having much luck. We must help feed the clan." The senior warrior, though disappointed that he could not undertake the mission given to him by Cedarstar, he knew that he made the right decision. The last thing Pineclan needed was sick warriors while under attack from outsiders. Blinking the rain drops from his eyes the tom was quick to lead the patrol out of the pouring rain and back under the cover of the trees.

◇Cedarstar◇ FawnheartsCamp Guard With hard work and help from Foxclaw, they were able to finish digging a narrow trench to divert the run off waters away from camp. "Ah", Cedarstar breathed. "Thank you Foxclaw, why dont you go to the stream just north of here to clean all the mud off." Stepping away from the muddy trench the large tom started to shake the large clumps off his paws. "And then go get yourself something to eat. You have earned it" Cedarstar then padded over to a shallow puddleand did his best to try and wash off the earth from his paws.

Blossomfeather's chest erupted in a sigh, her mind knowing what she was going to have to do next. I only hope that what Cedarstar and Foxclaw are speaking about aren't too important. But what could they be talking about that's more important than the future of the Clan's medicine cat? The calico turned back to Dovekit, and did her best to hide her nerve. What was there to be nervous about? Her leader was always kind, and she knew he'd be happy at the news. "Dovekit, I'll have to go tell Cedarstar about the future medicine cat," she mewled, her eyes twinkling with her words. "StarClan only knows how overjoyed he'll be." The she-cat turned from the kit, and padded out of the nursery. Who in StarClan's name would have imagined that today would be the day I found my apprentice?
The calico padded over to where Cedarstar and Foxclaw were patrolling. Looking down, she couldn't help but notice the state of Cedarstar's paws - muddied and brown - and she began reconsidering what she was doing. Dovekit had only considered - no, only known about - the position of medicine cat for a day, and suddenly she wanted to be one. She was willing to give up the possibilities of having a mate, the thrill of battle, and for what? Something she had only heard of for day? No, Blossomfeather. StarClan has wanted you to have an apprentice for moons now. If Dovekit doesn't end up being the best medicine cat immediately, our ancestors will guide her. You're fine; she's fine. Snapping out of her thoughts, the calico realized how awkward her position probably looked to an on looker - the medicine cat looking down at two cats before her. Suddenly, she heard Cedarstar tell Foxclaw to go get something to eat and she knew her opportunity had arisen. "Cedarstar," she meowed, making sure to keep her voice serious. "As you know, I haven't been able to find an apprentice. That changed today." She stopped again to take another breath. "I would like to take Dovekit as my apprentice. I believe she has what it takes, and she has expressed a great desire to serve PineClan in ways other than hunting and fighting."

◇Whisp◇ WitchyHunting Patrol By the time Whisp had managed to catch two mice and a small rabbit her creamy white pelt was soaked through. Though wet and uncomfortable her eyes shined as she returned to Lionclaws side. During her hunt she had made the solid decision of wishing to stay and live with the clan, with Lionclaw. Dropping the prey at his feet she finally broke her silence to him. "I have decided." She announced through the thunder that bellowed down from above. Would he be happy with her decision? Part of her was nervous to hear and see his reaction. Over the past moon they had grown quiet close, though there was always the looming thought that she would be leaving one day and leave the clan life and Lionclaw behind. Now Whisp couldn't dream of leaving the handsome golden tom, especially as she looked at his solid, dripping form standing there before her.

Cloverskip l Patrol
The tom shook the drops from his coat as they turned around. He cast one last glance at the plains before turning to return to the shelter of the trees. Hopefully the rogues would be more cautious as well, given the weather. The storm winds were strong enough to warrant a powerful storm, and nobody would want to be caught out in it. "That's a good idea. We shouldn't stray too far away from each other, just in case. That is, if the weather hasn't scared all the prey into hiding already." He offered softly, ears already tuning into the sounds of possible prey.

Flare l River The white tom shivered slightly in the wind. The rain had only just begun falling, which worried him. Although his short coat was dense enough to keep out the chill right now, he knew that they needed to get to some sort of shelter before it started pouring. He cast a glance at the river ahead of them. He wasn't overly skilled at fishing, so they weren't likely to get any prey from there. "Should we turn back? Or follow the river and see if there's a safe place to cross?" He turned toward his sister, voice soft.

Dawn stared ahead at the river raging before them, though the task proved difficult due to the downpour. "There's no use in turning back," she mewled. "We left for a reason." The she-cat shook out her coat in an attempt to keep from getting too wet, though the efforts were useless considering the fact that the rain was only beginning to beat down harder. She padded closer to the river, allowing the water to lap at her paws. The earth around it was moistening, and she knew that prey would be nowhere to find - the mice were probably cowering in their dens as to keep cover from the rain. She began inspecting the water; the river was shallow, though the rocks below seemed sharp enough to cut deep into either her's, or Flare's paws, and she couldn't risk that. At the moment, they didn't have the resources to care for themselves as two healthy cats, never mind two cats with potential developing infections. Dawn began making her way further down the river, flicking her tail as a sign for Flare to follow. She batted her eyes and began shaking her head to make sure that it wasn't merely an illusion, and to her great fortune, the sight before her wasn't. A pine lay across the river - its outer layer half stripped away, exposing a smooth interior. "I told you we shouldn't turn back," she meowed, turning back to look at Flare with a smirk.

Fawnheart | Nettlestep’s patrol
Marching through the rain Fawnhearts squinted her eyes, trying to see anything beyond the horizon but every shape seemed to blend into the shadow of the storm. The landscape around them almost impossible to identify. With the soil pounding in response to the weather, the rain seemed to get heavier, the dark rolling clouds above bellowing along with the severity of the storm.
The rain began to seep into Fawnhearts coat, soaking her within seconds, making the young she cat look nothing more than a nimble frame. Within seconds an icy chill ran down her spine as if she had been struck by lightening. Her head swam as it got hot, her teeth clattering in response to her muscles spasming in an effort to keep Fawnheart warm.
Relief flooded through her as Nettlestep called off the patrol though not as thrilled as the idea of hunting. Taking wobbly steps the she-cat padded after her patrol, slightly falling to the rear. Her lungs felt chilled and slowly but surely, her ragged breathing followed with heavy coughs.

Foxclaw smiled at his leader and nodded “I think I may very well just do that.” The last thing he wanted was to lick large clumps of sticky muddy off of his paws. His once brilliant ginger coat was almost completely covered with dark mud.
A gust of pride flowed through him “I’m always happy to lend you my service.” Foxclaw mewed, getting to his paws and trotting his way down the river. He glanced up as rain drops seemed to be pelting his nose a lot harder. A big storm must be on its way.
“It’s a good thing we dug out the trench when we did” Foxclaw muttered to himself.

Flare l roseFlare followed his sister with a nervous flick of his tail. "I'd rather we didn't cross at all. Rivers tend to be extra dangerous during heavy rain like this." He shot back, although he followed closely. Even the sight of the pine tree didn't exactly fill him with ease. "That could be just as slippery as the rocks, look at how smooth the bark is." He looked at the river below it; it was moving far too fast for his taste. "If we slip we're likely as good as dead."

◇Cedarstar◇ roseCamp Guard The last thing the clan leader was expecting to find outside of camp in this weather was sweet Blossomfeather, yet here she was standing before him. The medicine cat remained silent until Foxclaw took his leave and once he was gone her voice rose up above the storm to speak with him. "Dovekit!?" He was very surprised to hear that there was a kit who finally might have the makings to become a medicine cat. For the clan to have two medicine cats would be a blessing sent from Starclan. His tail rose high with joy at the prospect of her having an apprentice. Cedarstar knew how much the she-cat longed for someone to share her path with. "Well if you really do believe that the path of a medicine cat could be for her then I will preform a quick ceremony this evening. Hopefully this storm will lighten up enough to make it happen." Stepping forwards he pressed himself into Blossomfeathers fur in a warm and friendly way. "I am happy for you", he meowed with a smile as he stepped away not wishing to get her muddy as well.

"Then just don't slip, mousebrain," Dawn mewled. She put a paw out to test the surface, and to her dismay, Flare was right, of course. The pine was wet and if she wasn't careful, slipping was extremely likely. "I-I'll go first." Her confidence had begun to melt away, though the she-cat was determined to make it across the river. She stuck by her earlier words: there was no use in turning back at this point. Distributing her weight evenly on all of her paws, Dawn got atop the pine. Her claws flexed as to keep her secured on, but getting too deep into the log was a task that proved difficult. She put her tail up as an attempt to keep her balance, and she breathed a sigh of relief at the realization that she was going to make it to the other side. With a final leap, the she-cat had crossed the river, and she now looked expectantly over at Flare on the other side. "We don't have all day," she called through the rain. Her volunteering to go first may have seemed like an act of bravery, but the truth of the matter was, if she had slipped while going first then Flare would have known to turn back and he would've been safe. The she-cat could only hope that her brother's balance came through like hers had, or she wouldn't know what to do.

◇River◇ rose briarfurOutside Clan Territory The further she traveled the less rainy it became which made River feel more optimistic about finding more cats. Soon she came across a stream, and though the brunt of the storm was not over her the stream was full and swift flowing due to the rain upstream. 'I am definitely no crossing this', she said to herself as she continued to examine the stream. Her best bet would be to follow the stream, which is good because it was the perfect landmark so she disnt get lost. Trotting over to the closest tree she reared up on her hind legs and began to make a marker by digging her claws into its bark and shredding it away. Once the pale wood under the bark was exposed she pulled away and began to head down stream. Now when she was on her way back all she needed to do was look for that tree to tell her when to turn north to head back to the Grasslands.

《We did a time skip moving forwards 1 moon. Cinderrose is deputy. There is currently a thunderstorm over Pineclan territory. The rogues have settled in the Grasslands and are trying to claim it as their own. River have taken the role of leader for them and they have been preying on the clan cats who wonder about alone in the territory. Sandlily is currently in the medicine cats den recovering from almost being killed by the rogues. Hollowbirch and her apprentice saved her. River has left the grasslands to search for more cats to join her group to make them stronger.... um I think thats it... oh and once the patrols show up back to camp Cedarstar will announce Dovekit to be a medicine cat apprentice. 》

Flare l rose Falconwing l River Flare tensed up as he watched his sister cross the pine. It was a foolish idea, but he couldn't stop her now that she'd started. He held his breath until she leaped to the other side, where he let it out in a huff. But now it was his turn. Silently cursing their luck, he crawled up onto the log, grumbling at the realization that it was even more slippery than he'd anticipated. He took a deep breath to steady himself, and began crossing, slowly and steadily. At one point his back foot slipped, and he thought he was going to fall. Instinctively, he dropped low to the pine, waited for a moment until his heart had calmed down a bit, and then stood back up. Before he knew it he was at the end, jumping to the other side of the riverbed. "We are not doing that again." He hissed.

"Suit yourself," Dawn mewled. "But we made it. And you followed my advice - you didn't slip!" She looked back at her brother with a twinkle in her eye, though the she-cat was finding it difficult to continue to stay amused. Now that they had crossed, now what? The landscape before them was nearly the same as what they had just crossed away from - barren earth dotted with pines - though there were a few less trees where the pair now stood. She turned back towards Flare, and though the sandy she-cat tried her best to hide the panic that was beginning to dot her face, she wasn't doing a very good job. "Now what?" she asked. "Do we keep going and hope there's a cave that we can use for shelter somewhere near? Or do you have any other ideas?" Though she was the one who typically made the final call for both her and her brother, she knew that Flare's input would be incredibly valuable. The question wasn't a shot at a playful snide remark that she'd typically make towards her brother, but rather, an acceptance of defeat.

Flare l rose Falconwing l River Flare glanced around. It really wasn't much of an improvement, aside from giving them more room to wander. "Well, maybe we can still pick up prey trails. I doubt we'll catch anything, but if the mice, voles, and squirrels know where to stay dry, maybe we'll find a spot to wait this storm out as well." It was either that or pick a direction and hope for the best. "If the rain gets any heavier, there's a risk that the river will flood. So the further we can get away from the river, the better." He started scenting for any prey trails. They were faint with the rain, but he thought he could pick up a few. Nodding in the direction of the trails, he passed by Dawn, pressing against her side briefly before continuing on. "Come on."

◇River◇ rose briarfurOutside Clan Territory - Rivers Edge Her pace was set to a quick trot. Eager to get this adventure over with. Following the river down stream her bright blue eyes scanning the barren land. How in the world did she expect to find any cats here when she couldnt even find a single scent of prey. Its a good thing she ate before she left the territory. Stopping she gave her pelt a couple of good shakes trying to get all the water that had accumulated in it out. There was no point in licking it to make it smooth for in another five to ten minutes she would shake it out once again. After the final shake she opened her eyes and a moment in the distants made her freeze. What was that? Narrowing her eyes she started to stalk forwards untill she was able to make out the two moving forms to be cats. Her luck and persistence had just paid off, hopefully these two cats were in need of shelter and a full belly, which was exactly what she was going to offer them. Giving her creamy chest a couple of licks she stood up tall with her tail up and waving in a friendly manner, "Hello!" She called out to them trying to catch their attention as she trotted straight for them.

Dawn nodded at Flare's words, but immediately crouched when she heard a voice that didn't belong to her brother. Her ears flattened against her head instinctively, and she began looking frantically through the rain to find the source of the voice. Her eyes landed on a cat with a cream pelt coming towards them. The cat's voice seemed friendly, and so, Dawn raised herself from her crouching position, though her ears remained in their place - flat atop her head. She was willing to fight this cat if it came down to it, though she didn't quite know why her and her brother had been approached in the first place. She moved in front of Flare as the other cat came closer - it was merely an instinct - she knew her brother could get them out of the situation eventually if need be, though in the heat of the moment, she felt that she was the one who should speak first. "Who are you?" she hissed. "If this is your territory, then my brother and I were just about to leave. We're not looking for trouble." With her words, she didn't dare reveal her and her sibling's current situation when it came to food - and that they were searching desperately for it. If this cat is well fed then she could take us both on easily, despite us winning in numbers. "Just hurry up and tell us what you're after so we can be on our way."

Flare l rose Falconwing l River's edge Flare dropped into a defensive position as well. Normally he'd have stepped in front of his sister, but he said nothing. If they were arguing, they would look more vulnerable. So he allowed Dawn to stand in front of him as a more dangerous figure, while he took in everything around them. She wasn't afraid, that was certain, but she didn't seem hostile either. He tried to check for other cats, but with the rain he could smell nothing. Hopefully she was alone. She seemed more well fed than they were, although Flare's thicker fur hid his ribs better than his sister. "We were just getting out of the rain. The river is too dangerous to cross at the moment, but if this is your territory, we will cross as soon as it's safe." He called out over the rain, shooting a look at Dawn. Neither wanted to cross back, but if it would let them stay for the night, it might be the smartest option.

◇River◇ rose briarfurRiver approached cautiously trying to breath in their scents as she neared. Her bright blue eyes were quick to notice their defensive stance and it pleased her to see that they weren't afraid of a fight. "What are you two doing out in a storm like this? This is no weather for cats to be out and about in." She filled her voice with concern as to make her self seem more approachable, if she rrally wanted these cats to join her she would have to be nice. Her brown tail slowly swished back and forth as she inspected first the female and then the handsome male who stood behind her. She didn't wait for an answer as the sound of thunder quickly filled the air around then in a deep rumble. Her seal brown ears flattened uncomfortably untill the sound died away, "If it is food and shelter you seek, you are welcome to join me. I am headed back home as swiftly as possible, Im sure you'd be judt as happy as me to get out of this weather", she turned as if to head back the way she came her blue eyes focusing on the tom as if to beckon him to follow.

Dawn's eyes shifted between her brother and the she-cat. Can she be trusted? She definitely seemed to showcase her promises of having food and shelter in her physique, but why would she be looking for others to share it with? She realized that the other she-cat seemed to be constantly looking behind her - where Flare stood. Dawn's ears flattened again instantly; if this she-cat was looking to steal her brother away, she would not stand for it. However, if this cat was indeed telling the truth, then it would mean great things for both herself and Flare. As her ears unflattened, she couldn't help but wonder, how could we possibly be sure of this cat's true intentions? "Who are you?" she asked. "Where do you want to take us? Why are you trying to take us somewhere?" Questions kept spilling out of her - but how could they not? A cat of whom she had never met before was now asking to bring both Flare and her back to territory unknown to them, and for what? Kindness? The notion seemed odd.

Flare l rose Falconwing l River's edge The tom watched with a calmness that was honestly more of a front than anything real. They had heard of different groups of cats living together that were strong enough to control a huge territory. She didn't seem concerned that she was alone, or that she was outnumbered by two strangers. It didn't inspire much confidence. He straightened up, voice a lot more steady than he felt. "If it's all the same to you, we'd feel better if we had answers before blindly following a stranger. You're offering us food and shelter, but we've met plenty of other loners who wouldn't risk it. What makes you so confident? No offense, but what makes you think we aren't dangerous?"
