Beau bowed his head grimly and stopped again after a few more roofs to look. "We kill those who see us and make sure no one else does," he answered, scooping his fingers through his hair. They were at a dead end with the roofs but the streets were now full of hunters instead of infected. Crouching down, he watched carefully, trying to see where they were going and what they were doing. It seemed like they were just rooting through buildings for loot. They could probably get by using a diversion. It looked like the main base was just a few blocks over. "Okay...see that alley over there?" He pointed to an alley where a group of infected were lurking. "If we move that dumpster, it gives them free access to the Hunters. We move the dumpster, draw them out, and while they're distracted, we can circle around to the next alley and cross the street while their backs are turned."

(By the way, loving your avatar picture!)
Adam nodded along even though the plan was a bit risky since the infected pretty much do their own thing and might not follow the plan. "Alright, but that dumpster is going to need a lot of noise." He swallowed hard then looked at Beau, "how good of a shot are you? I'm going to need some cover if they get suspicious and come towards me." He was determined to prove what he could do, not only to Beau but to himself. I don't want to be that kid that is only helpful with jokes. Beau, Lacey, Rowan... They're all so brave and confident and skilled... I have to prove my worth.

Beau nodded. "I'm a good shot. I got you covered." His guns didn't have silencers on them but if the infected were going to be crawling out toward the Hunters, they wouldn't need to worry. It would be assumed that they were getting attacked and that the shot came from one of their own. Drawing in a deep breath, he turned to Adam, readying his rifle. "Let's get this done."

(Eep! Can't wait to watch it )
The younger male nodded then straightened from his hunched position in search of a ladder to lead him down to the streets. He made sure to go slowly so the rusted metal didn't creak or snap off completely. He only dared to breathe once his feet were on solid ground. Now all you have to do is get to the dumpster without being seen... Great. The plus side was that the Hunters had cleared the street they were patrolling of any infected but the downside was that his head would be blown off if he was spotted. Adam crept to the edge of the building and stayed low as he ducked behind a broken down car. That's what he kept doing; sprinting from car to car to avoid being spotted as he crossed the road until he reached the alley Beau had pointed out. He glanced up to the building he knew the other guy would be shooting from before heaving the dumpster out of the way. The metal groaned in protest but shifted as it was pulled. The sudden noise made the infected go wild, especially the Clickers, and all of the commotion brought the attention of the Hunters. A few broke off from the group to inspect the alley that Adam was shadowed in. He began to pull at the dumpster more fervently, giving it all as the infected roared in his ears and the men moved closer to his position.

Beau waited for Adam to get down on the ground before he shifted his position. He moved down a few storied to a fire escape that gave him a clear shot. Adam was tugging on the dumpster, which seemed to alert the clickers in the back and they made their way toward him just as a couple of men were doing as well. With a calm, steady breath, he positioned the rifle in his shoulder and looked through the scope. He would shoot down the guy in the back. They wouldn't know what happened and the noise would bring the clickers right to them. So as soon as Adam heaved the dumpster away enough, he fired.

( -Flails- why are you like this? The sadness of your profile picture and stuff >o< ughhh! My heart... )
The hands of the infected reached out to Adam, desperate to taste his flesh. He heard the shouts of the Hunters as they came around the corner and spotted him. His instinct was to duck as they fired but he had to get to higher ground for the infected were pushing the dumpster, widening the gap so at least two could get out at a time. Adam pulled himself onto the top of the dumpster and leaped for the fire escape attached to the side of the building. The rusted metal groaned under his weight but he managed to pull himself to safety. Bullets still whizzed past him but a chorus of yelling joined the gunfire; one of the men was brought down by a clicker. Adam laid flat on his back, arms splayed out as he slowed his racing heart and tried to block out the sounds of pain below.

(I KNOW IM SO UPSET) Beau cursed when one of the hunters spotted Adam moving the dumpster. Time for him to get to work. Steadying the rifle, he fired at the one closest to Adam and got him down. A couple infected latched onto him as he bled into the pavement. The groaning of the dumpster ceased and he shot another, just skimming his shoulder because of his sudden attention on him. Damn. He was spotted. Shots started to fire his way as Adam pulled himself up and he scooted backwards, stopping for a moment and listening to the screams as a few clickers latched onto them. "No time to rest, we gotta move." He gave the boy a nudge and then stood, rounding to the other side of the building and slipping down the fire escape that way. He didn't check for Adam because if he wasn't following, that was his own fault. So with quick feet, he sprinted across the street, just catching a glimpse of the hunters being devoured by the infected. From here on out, they could use the rooftops.

The younger male snapped out of his daze when Beau nudged him and he scrambled to his feet to follow. He stumbled a few times, his mind in a fog from what he had just done, I signed the death warrant for all of those men. Sure, he had killed other people before but that's because they put his life in danger by attacking first. This time, he had made the first move. Stop this! They were Hunters. They would have killed you on sight if you hadn't, he scolded himself silently but a part of him held some doubt. Unlike Beau, Adam didn't look back as he dashed across the street. Luckily, the sounds of the men screaming and cursing drowned out their footsteps. He was running so much on such little fuel that his lungs began to burn like he was breathing in smoke, "what now? Which way?" He gasped loud enough for the male in front to hear him.

Beau could hear Adam close behind which was good. Meant he was still with it. When they reached the other side of the street, he skidded to a stop, looking up and huffing out a breath. "We go back up." He pressed his lips together and then proceeded to latch onto the bottom of the fire escape, using all of his strength to get up. Keeping his rifle out, he started up the stairs, not slowing down until they reached the top. He took a moment to pause and look through the scope of the rifle to see where the center of the city was. Not too far, just a few blocks over, but it was full of hunters. Once they reached there, they would have to tread much more carefully. "Come on, this way." He took a running start and crossed the gap to the next building, landing a bit roughly.

Adam didn't have any time to recuperate and his ears were still ringing with the screams of the men he had just murdered. He had killed many others that would've shot him without hesitating but it still cut him raw. He hadn't thought of his past actions until now; Rowan always said it was necessary to survive. He couldn't stop to think about it so he simply ran, trailing after Beau. He took the stairs two at a time and wondered how he managed to pull himself up the fire escape- not important. He crouched next to the older male and allowed himself to breathe though it took a lot of concentration to remain quiet. Adam nearly groaned when Beau leaped over another gap between the buildings but the second time was always easier. He landed hard on his knee and let out a gasp but ran through the pain, adrenaline pumping through his system and keeping him going.

[ ahh I'm sorry I didn't see the reply and for some reason it didn't show the thread as replied tooo ] Beau didn't slow down at all for Adam, merely because there wasn't any time to. They had to keep going and if they were going to get Rowan what she needed, they couldn't stop. So after leaping after the one gap, he cleared another and then headed down the fire escape. They were getting to the heart of the city and where the Hunters would be the most prominent. There, they would have to be more sneaky and ruthless. He knew how they operated. At one point in time, he had to be part of them to get Lacey what she needed to survive. Not the brightest time in his life but it meant that he knew how they thought and what they needed to do to get by. Once he got to the ground, he took a breath and peered over a car to see where the center of the city was. Not far now. They'd need to find a lone hunter to interrogate and figure out where the medical supplies were kept.

(It's perfectly fine ^^ I honestly didn't even notice until today because I was sitting around and was like, "what the heck happened to that Last of Us RP?" xD )
Adam kept pushing himself to race after Beau. There were times that he slowed and began falling behind but he managed to put on more speed to the point he was practically breathing down the other male's neck. His peripherals blurred and he had tunnel vision on Beau's back since nothing else mattered at this moment. They were free of danger at the moment and knew that the male in front of him would be aware enough if there was anything ahead. He couldn't help wondering how the girls were doing. It was hard leaving them behind especially since Lacey was freaked when Rowan got sick in the first place. He mentally cleared his thoughts -- I have to focus on what's ahead of me. He had no idea where he was going exactly in this city. They were difficult for him without a map but Beau seemed to have the hang of it. He simply had to trust that the older male was going to get them where they needed to be and fast.

[ okay cool haha xD And it's perfect timing too since I just got off school so I have a ton more free time xD ]
Beau took in a shuddering breath and crouched low. "Alright. We need to find a lone Hunter. There's no way we're going to find the medical supplies just by looking. You see someone, point it out to me, alright?" He turned to look at the other male for a brief second before focusing his attention back to their surroundings. He straightened up a little bit but still remained slightly hunched over in case he needed to drop down quickly to hide. Slowly, he started forward, keeping a hand on his gun in case they got into a tight situation. So far, things seemed clear but it wouldn't remain that way for long. They came upon an open bookstore and he slowly slunk inside, listening carefully for any noises.

(Awesome ^^ that's actually the only reason I'm kind of active now haha.)
The younger male was surprised he was able to register what Beau was saying. Adam mimicked his stance and scanned their surroundings from within the heavily pillaged bookstore. There wasn't much movement which was a huge concern -- no infected or Hunters in sight... He was on edge after noticing that and almost missed the movement within an old coffee shop across the street. He glanced at Beau to get his attention then made a subtle gesture to the man snooping around the tables of the other building. The dull-toned clothes and military-grade weapon gave him away as a Hunter immediately. "Hello, little informant..." Adam muttered unenthusiastically. Killing men is one thing but capturing one with the possibility of torturing him for information? It wasn't something he was entirely comfortable with but what rattled him more was the fact the Beau knew what to do and seemed perfectly calm with the notion. He gave the older man a suspicious sideways glance before wincing when he put too much weight on his left leg. Now that he had the time, he looked at his knee and saw the cloth ripped and bloodied from where he had landed roughly after jumping a gap between buildings.

Beau scanned every inch of the place but didn't see anything until Adam pointed something out. There was a Hunter just passing by a coffee shop, alone and not seeming too alert. He gave Adam a nod and then slipped forward, crouching low and keeping a gun out just in case. The closer they got, the more quiet and tense he was. Soon, he was close enough and he lunged forward, grabbing onto the man with one hand and using the other to cover his mouth. The Hunter squirmed in his grasp, but he remained strong and unwavering, knowing the consequences of not seeing this through. Rowan would die. "Adam, get the door open!" he commanded, gesturing to the boarded up coffee shop. It would be good enough to interrogate in there.

Adam regretted pointing out the man to Beau immediately but there was no other way to get any further without getting the exact location of their base. He lagged behind to keep an eye out for anyone else that may sound an alarm. In this situation, it seemed that the infected weren't as remotely dangerous as the humans they were facing. The younger male obeyed and opened the heavy door for Beau to wrestle the struggling man through. Luckily, the hinges didn't creak enough to draw attention to them. He eased the door shut once the other two were through and immediately searched for a sturdy chair. He set it in the back corner - the one spot that wasn't visible from the street - and knelt to rummage through his bag for the coil of rope he had snatched from on of the stores they had raided way-back. He handed the restraints to Beau and offered some zip ties as well, "this should do for now," he murmured and briefly met his eyes. There seemed to be regret there that reflected his own; at least he isn't sick. Neither of us will be enjoying this.
