Your heart pounds rapidly in your chest as the screeching grows louder. You have to get out of here before they get you. There isn't anywhere to hide that isn't already infested. They seem to be coming out of every corner. Up ahead, you spot the edge of a cliff and your stomach plummets. Skidding to a stop, you peer over the edge, noting the body of water sitting ominously at the bottom of the cliff. It's either jump or be eaten. You make the decision to jump and as soon as your feet push off the ledge, you plummet to earth. With a sickening feeling rising in your throat, you hit the surface of the water. Your skin stings from the impact, but you start to swim immediately. One of them grabs onto your leg, but you shake it off and swim as fast as you can to shore. You haul yourself onto the dirt, gasping and panting for air. Endure and survive, that's all you can do.about This roleplay is based off the game the Last of Us. You don't have to have played it, though. It takes place 20 years after the apocalypse. A fungus has taken over the minds of people and turned them into infected. It's up to you to survive.
infected
Runners - runners are the infected that are in the earliest stage of transformation. They look mostly like normal humans with bloodied and sick appearances. They can see and hear as good, if not better than a normal human.
Stalkers - stalkers are in stage two of the transformation. They still look fairly human-like, but have stalks of fungus beginning to grow from their heads. They like to hide around corners and wait until you come upon them to attack. They are usually pretty quiet, so it is important to keep an eye out for them.
Clickers - clickers are in stage three of transformation. They look human-like, but without a head. Their head has been completely overgrown by fungus and they cannot see. They use clicks, or an echo location type of navigation and are able to detect even the quietest of noise.
Bloaters - bloaters are in the final stage of transformation. They barely look human at this point, their whole body covered in fungus. They are extremely strong, though quite slow. They will peel spores off their body and use them as projectile weapons. It is important not to breathe the spores in, or it can lead to infection. If they grab you, it's over.
groups Hunters - hunters tend to reside in the city. They group together with other hunters and take over the area. They do not care about others and will kill for supplies. Because of this, they tend to be pretty well off, but they don't have a moral code.
Fireflies - fireflies tend to reside in quarantine zones secretly. They are rebelling against the quarantine zones and often get killed if they are caught. They are actively still trying to find a cure for the infection and believe themselves to be the voices of hope.
Quarantine Zones - the groups in quarantine zones are trying to live life as normally as possible. They receive ration cards for food but sometimes do not eat for a handful of days because of lack of food to go around. They all have jobs they are assigned, whether that be helping to cook, stocking up food, etc. They have a curfew of 7:30 and if they are caught out after that, they are punished. Sneaking out of the zone also results in punishment.
Loners - people who are loners don't live in zones or in specific groups. They can have their own groups, but usually they are very small. They go where they want and do what they want.
Joel's Group - this is a group of people who are thriving at the moment. They live in an abandoned power plant, so they have electricity. Joel runs the group along with his brother Tommy. Ellie is also here. They are one of the few groups to have horses.

rules
||Violence, romance, and swearing|| I totally understand that the rating of the game this is based off is pretty high and that in apocalyptic situations can lead to these three a lot, but that does not mean that we can carry out the same level on this site. There are younger kids on here and we need to keep it PG appropriate. Swearing must be starred out or replaced with something like [colorful word] or [pudding] and whatnot.
||Powerplaying and character killing|| Please....just no. Powerplaying and killing other people's characters without permission is just not cool. In situations like this, people are going to die and become infected, but it is not okay for you to kill off someone else's character without their permission. And of course, powerplaying is just not cool either. Also, Ellie in the game is immune to the infection. As of now, she is the only one who is immune. I don't want to have twenty people immune to the virus and for now, making no one else immune is the easiest way to keep that in check. Maybe if later in the plot it comes up and could prove good to move the plot along then I will allow it, but as of now, no one else is immune.
||Mary-sues and Gary-stus|| I understand that it is hard to make up characters, but I will not tolerate a perfect character. Flaws, weaknesses, etc must be part of a character if you want to make one. And no, being nice isn't a "perfect" character trait. As long as your character has a decent balance of weaknesses and strengths, it's a good character for this roleplay.
||Literacy|| I'd like this roleplay to be as literate as my other roleplays, maybe even more. I will not tolerate text talk whatsoever. I'm not one to care how much you post, because I post one-liners often, but please make it quality. Quality over quantity! I understand mistakes, but I still would like you to try your best roleplaying. Here is an example of what I would like to see in a roleplay post:
"You have to be careful," Henry warned, icy blue eyes flashing with worry. He wasn't sure about sending her there by herself. It was incredibly dangerous.
Here's an example of a post I do NOT want to see:
"no dont go" tyler scremed , jumpin up & down.
You get the gist of it. I honestly like to post at least a paragraph. It makes things more visible in your mind and it's more fun!
||Activity|| I understand 100% that life can get in the way of coming on and roleplaying, but if you know that you are going to be gone or that there is a possibility that you might be on and off all week, please just let me know! I'm going to do member sweeps every week and if you're not on at all without any explanation in that week, you'll be deleted. I might give you a little more time because I understand being busy.
||Characters|| To start out when you join, I'd like you to make at least one male and one female character. The only reason for this is because I'd like to try and keep the ratio even. After you make a male and female, you're allowed to make whatever you want, as long as you don't have like seven girls and two boys. Also, since this is a "zombie" roleplay, at least one of your characters must die. It's just not likely to have a group of ten people all survive.
||Fun!|| That's the main point of this roleplay, right? To have fun?

☢||Beau Williamson||20; male||☢ >>>> ☠ Beau has light brown messy hair that falls all around his head and face. His skin is a light tan because of wandering for weeks, but even when it's not tanned, it's not too light. He is tall and skinny, with not too much muscle, but just enough to get by in the time that they live in. His eyes are light blue and his lips are a bit full for a male. Since it's hard to find clean clothes, he only has a few pairs of dirty old jeans and t-shirts. He wears an old pair of converse that are practically falling apart, but he uses duct tape to keep them together. Beau is naturally wary and the fact that they're in an apocalypse doesn't really help that wariness. He doesn't trust anyone except his younger sister. Once you gain his trust, though, he is completely loyal. He has a leader in him and he shows it when he protects his sister and spends the time collecting supplies and planning things out. He doesn't feel very comfortable when other people are leaders and he tries to take control if he can. He can be a bit selfish with things, but it's mostly because of the whole situation and he doesn't want he or his sister to have to go without supplies or things they need, since they are constantly on the run. He definitely appears standoffish when you first meet him, but that's mostly because of his wariness. He tends not to care about others in danger as long as he and his sister are safe, but some people, especially those who are his sister's age or younger, he has a soft spot for. As of now, Beau is a loner. He carries one larger gun and one smaller gun on himself at all times and he uses a wooden plank for up close attacks. His history isn't really known by anyone except his sister, but it is obvious that he has been told to protect his sister at all costs. His sister is Lacey Williamson. ☠ <<<< ✖||Spottedstar3137||✖
☢||Jackson Weston||22; male||☢ >>>> ☠ Jackson is average height, but far from bony and scrawny. He has broad shoulders and a muscular build. What makes his most identifiable is the bright orange hair that covers his head. It isn't long, but it isn't too short either; it's mainly just average hair length for a boy. His dark brown eyes cannot hide his merciless personality. His eyes give away more emotion than his facial expressions or body language does. Jackson is ruthless and merciless. It is one of the main reasons why the Hunters took him in. He doesn't get swayed easily and he has quite a nasty temper on him. He is very selfish and only does things for himself or for his group. If you can wiggle your way into his life, he can be not too bad of a guy, but probably not the best choice for a friend or boyfriend. He doesn't really care about other people's feelings and can hurt people intentionally. He is a part of the Hunters. He carries two handguns with him at all times and an axe as a melee weapon. His past matters to no one, not even himself, so it isn't really important. ☠ <<<< ✖||Spottedstar3137||✖
☢||Lacey Williamson||18; female||☢ >>>> ☠ Lacey has long, straight brunette hair. She usually doesn't tie it up unless she's hunting or too hot, so it's mostly down. Her eyes are a light blue like her brother and it's a dead giveaway that they are related. She is on the shorter side, but she is thin and doesn't have all that much muscle. Her skin is just a shade lighter than her brother. She wears mostly shorts and t-shirts, since it's the only things she has found since the start of the outbreak. If she could ever get her hands on any dresses or skirts, she would love to wear those, since she is a bit of a girly girl. Lacey is more on the reserved side, but once you get to know her, she can be outgoing and friendly. She can also be quite shy. She likes to laugh, though don't let her bubbly personality fool you; she is a tough and fierce person. She is a loner with her brother. Her weapons include a bow, which she uses the most, and a shotgun. She is the sister of Beau Williamson. ☠ <<<< ✖||Spottedstar3137||✖
☢||Alice Rese||21; female||☢ >>>> ☠ Alice has long, light blonde hair with short bangs. She almost always keeps it up in a ponytail or bun, though on rare occasions, she will let it down. She has creamy skin with a few freckles on her cheeks and nose. Her eyes are big like a doe and the color of her eyes is very light silver, which can sometimes take people aback because they make her look almost alien. She is tall, but not lanky, and rather muscular for a female. Though she does not have an hourglass figure, traces of curves are prevalent. She wears mostly jeans and hoodies when she's out on supply runs, but she has been fortunate enough to find a pear of sweat pants that she wears when she's just lounging around the camp. She also has a baseball cap that she wears on occasion. She only has one pair of shoes and they are working boots. Alice is a pretty tough girl and doesn't show much emotion besides humor, indifference, and contentment. However, when some things get to her, she becomes and emotional mess. She's not too hard to anger, but she does have a decent tolerance for a lot of things. Sarcasm is one of her favorite things and she uses it often. She is also a very intelligent girl. She is a part of Joel's group, though it did take her a lot to get there. The weapons she always has on her are a rifle and an axe. Alice was in school to become an architect before the outbreak. Her life was about as average as it could get. She became separated from her family since everything started and given the chance, she will risk anything to get back to them if she hears word from them. ☠ <<<< ✖||Spottedstar3137||✖
☢||Charles (Charlie) Meadows||17; male||☢ >>>> ☠ Looks, personality, Group(Fireflies, containment area, loners, Joel's group, hunters, etc.), weapons (two ranged and one melee), history(optional), crush/lover, other. ☠ <<<< ✖||Spottedstar3137||✖
Lostwhisker
☢||Rowan (Row) Peterson||20; Female||☢ >>>> ☠ Rowan has creamy, naturally tanned skin since she's Italian which spreads over her thin frame. Her delicate frame allows her to stand at the height of 5'10". Her hair use to be dyed cranberry red but has grown out to be blonde and wavy, reaching a little bit past the mid of her back. She usually has her hair down but will put it up in a bun or quick ponytail if she needs to. Her eyes have a thin almond-shape to them and are a golden brown encased in a ring of dark chocolate. She has thick black eyelashes and didn't even wear makeup before the apocalypse. Her lips are naturally a pale pink. Since Row is so thin and tall, she wears a light grey v-neck t-shirt that's a bit loose on her and dark washed skinny jeans that are loose on her and have to be held up by a black equipment belt. She usually wears her late fathers' vintage Pink Floyd jacket which is black in a track-jacket material with the prism-rainbow stitched into the back and her fathers' name, Richard, stitched into the collar. She also always wears a silver cross on black rosary beads. She likes to wear her worn black converse. She has a black backpack which holds a change of clothes, some food and water, a medical kit she grabbed from a hospital with a few extra items, a flash light and the water spout that attaches to a water pack in the back pack. Row is independent and strong, physically and emotionally. She is a free-spirited girl and tends to go with the flow unless angered which can happen easily even though she seems mellow. She usually gets annoyed with people who try to tell her what to do all the time. Loner but with Adam Booth. Rowan has a pistol and a shotgun for her guns and a metal baseball bat which she likes to use if she can't sneak up and strangle a Runner. She has a lot of medical knowledge since she was studying to be a doctor/surgeon. ☠ <<<< ✖||Lostwhisker||✖
☢||Adam (Booth) Booth||18; Male||☢ >>>> ☠ Adam, honestly, is a rugged yet handsome looking guy. Even at the age of 18, he appears to be around 20. The reason is from having his age process tampered with and the fact he stands at the height 5'11" with strong, but not overly prominent, muscles. Even with his muscles he appears to be thinner which gives him the upper hand in hand-to-hand combat. He has an angular face with a strong chin and prominent cheek bones. His hair is a dark brown, almost black. From his sideburns are dark, short hairs that go along his jaw, chin and upper lip. This creates a more rugged look to him as well. His eyes are angular and slightly deep set so that they're shadowed and a bit mysterious in an alluring way. His eyes are a pale blue with green and gold speckles which catch the light. When the speckles catch the light, the color of them seem more hazel than a pale blue. His iris' are encased in navy blue rings as if keeping in an ocean with flecks of different colors. His skin is lightly tanned and flawless from a distance. His eyes are outlined in bold, dark eyelashes some girls would die to have. Adam usually wears contacts but he also has rectangular glasses which have black frames and compliment his appearance. He has many scars along his arms, hands and legs. He has a pale, thin scar running from behind his right ear to his collar bone. He has another scar cutting from the left side of his forehead to the outer corner of his left eye. His strong yet gentle hands are usually covered in an oil of some kind from making explosives. Booth has dark brown hair which looks black at times. Seemingly at the ends of each hair, he has light golden brown highlights. For clothing, he tends to wear a military prototype of a new jacket which is in a mesh-like style. The jacket allows you to breath so you don't over heat but the fabric of it is still close enough to keep in warmth in the cold. Under the jacket he wears a dark green t-shirt. He also wears a dark-washed pair of skinny jeans which are a bit baggy along with a pair of black and white Nike running shoes which have black and red laces. Adam has a dark green backpack with a change of clothes, food and water, a simple first-aid kit and a flashlight. He is a strong guy, emotionally and physically, but he likes to work with a few other people. He is easy to work with and doesn't mind following a few orders. Loner but works with Rowan Peterson. He has a s.niper, which he rarely uses, dual hand guns and a knife with a hunting knife. ☠ <<<< ✖||Lostwhisker||✖

last two posts:
Beau didn't want to admit to himself that he was worried about Rowan but...he was. Ever since the start of this thing and he lost everyone he cared about, he tried to distance himself from others, only keeping Lacey close because she was the only family he had left. But then Rowan plowed back into his life and she was barely alive now and he was suddenly feeling the panic and strain of stress. They needed to find medical supplies. Desperately. Speeding the truck up, he kept an eye out for any signs that would lead somewhere. After what seemed like forever, he spotted one to a little city a few miles away. It would be risky because of the infected, but he was willing to take the risk if that meant saving Rowan's life. Turning onto the next road, he kept his grip firm on the steering wheel until the trees started to peel away and he could see the sight of towering buildings and city streets. He slowed the truck and parked it on the outskirts, glancing over at Adam since he had driven right behind. "We look for whatever we can. Someone needs to stay behind with her. Make sure she stays alive," he murmured, voice slightly hoarse.
"If she wasn't bitten, then what is wrong with her?" Lacey asked, pressing her lips together and frowning. It was a good thing she wasn't infected, but she still seemed like there was a chance she could die and they didn't need that, especially not Beau. She looked up through the windshield as Beau in the truck in front of them turned onto another road and she shifted anxiously in her seat, the anxiety building as they continued to drive to who knew where. It only became clear when she saw the tall buildings and they stopped at the outskirts of the city, which only brought more anxiety to her. This was extremely dangerous and they would have to be very careful of what they did here.4
yours:
Being as stubborn as she was, Rowan kept fighting internally to keep breathing. Her heart rate was still quite faint but enough to keep her alive as she was unconscious and unaware of her surroundings. She was trapped in a darkness that was timeless and never ending. She was suddenly jolted back to reality but she couldn't find the strength to sit up or to even completely open her eyes. She blinked slowly before focusing on the figure in the driver's seat. Beau...? She tried to speak but her words were garbled and hoarse.
Adam shook his head, "I'm not entirely sure. I never got the medical training she did." That was another thing; not only was he losing one of his best friends, they were losing someone that had some medical knowledge. With a burst of anger, he hit his palm on the steering wheel and cursed before looking at Lacey apologetically. He couldn't risk scaring her at a time like this. "It could be blood loss, maybe infection..." His voice trailed off as the truck in front of them slowed and pulled to the side. Adam brought his truck up beside Beau's and rolled down Lacey's window, leaning over to hear him better. He nodded, agreeing with the older male, "alright. We should decide that once we find a safe place." Even as he said it, he had already decided that he was going out to search for the supplies Rowan needed, I can't just sit around and do nothing while she's on the brink of dying.

Beau nodded and pulled himself back into his own car. "We park over by the trees over there. It's quiet and safe enough. Then we head out." He quickly started the car back up again, so focused on what he was doing he didn't even hear Rowan in the back. As soon as Adam had his car started up as well, he drove forward slowly, trying to stay as quiet as possible. The little grove of tree that offered protection wasn't very far and he got there sooner rather than later, strategically parking the car so it wouldn't be seen. Once he was parked, he got out, taking his shotgun and knife with him.
Lacey wanted to go with Beau because she was desperately worried about him. Right now, she could tell that he was running blindly, making him a target for slip ups and mistakes. She didn't get to add her input because he was already telling them where to park and starting up the car. Frowning a bit, she got into the passenger side of Adam's car and crossed her arms around herself, trying not to let the worry eat away at her.

(I can't remember the relationship Lacey and Adam have... I don't think they've kissed or anything. Just held hands.)
Rowan felt a dark wave crash over her, dragging her back and keeping her from speaking to let Beau know she was awake enough to hear what was going on around them. She felt like an intruder listening in but also a bit confused since they were talking about heading into the city. No no no... It's too dangerous. Let me come with you. You can't leave me! She wanted to scream to get his attention but nothing responded. Her head pounded from the effort and she was faded into unconsciousness.
Adam glanced over at the trees and nodded, "alright, seems good enough for a night at least." It was going to be difficult navigating the city in twenty-four hours or less. He hated abandoning Lacey with Rowan to protect but there was nothing else they could do. He pulled the truck in beside Beau's and unbuckled himself from the driver's seat but he paused before stepping out. The young man turned to Lacey and gently took her hand, his eyes filled with sadness but also anger at the situation they were in, "are you going to be okay? I want to stay here but Beau can't go alone and I have to do something that's going to help Row." His voice thickened but the volume dropped, "this is so messed up... Unfair... He shook his head and squeezed the girl's hand, "I'm really sorry, he quickly pressed his lips to her forehead before clambering out of the truck with his pistols and a crowbar on him. He bent down to sheath a knife in his boot before heading to the older male for further instructions.

[ yeah now that I think about it I don't think they have yet xD ]
Beau glanced up when Adam came out of the truck, slightly relieved that his sister would be the one staying behind. "Alright, we don't know the layout just yet. So we creep up, get a good look, and see what looks like the best place to find supplies." Because they were going in blind, it was even more dangerous, but they couldn't leave Rowan to die. He wasn't going to leave her again. He glanced over to the car as Lacey came out with her bow and sheath of arrows, claiming that she wasn't going to sit around and she was going to be the one going besides Adam. He let out a sigh and shook his head. "No. You're staying here. That's final."
Lacey's breath hitched in her throat when Adam said that he was going to go too. She couldn't lose both of them. Quickly, she grabbed her weapon of choice, slipping out of the truck. "Adam is staying. I'm going." Her voice was demanding, different than usual. But this was reminding her too much of what happened to her parents, how they left because of an emergency to get something and never came back. The last thing they saw of them was their corpses. Of course, Beau denied that she was going and she gritted her teeth, trying not to break down. "I can't let you go, Beau." She couldn't lose someone she loved again.

(@spotted: eh, we'll work on that later xD they're taking things slow.) (@pete: yay ^^ new person! Welcome )
Adam glanced between the two and he took pity on the girl since she seemed scared but was still forcing herself to act brave. He knelt momentarily to retrieve three military grade walkie talkies from his bag before zipping it up and walking to Lacey. He handed one out to here, "here. I found these among the supplies. We'll radio in whenever we're safe but, whatever you do, don't call us," he forced one of his signature playful grins but it didn't reach his eyes, "wouldn't want any of the infected to hear it and come after us, now would we?"

[ yeah haha espec with Beau watching them like a hawk xD
woo new people! ]
Beau was extremely thankful Adam thought of something to satiate her for now. It was a good idea as well. Before they left, he gave his sister a quick hug and reassured her that they'd be back. Turning to Adam, he gave a nod to indicate it was time to go. He started through the trees, staying quiet as they approached the outskirts of the city. Kneeling down, he scanned the area, noting that there was a large group of infected lingering around the streets. "See a way past them?"
Lacey pressed her lips together and took the walkie talkie. She wasn't exactly thrilled, but it was still better than nothing. "Fine...." With a small sigh, she leaned forward to hug her brother. "Come back," she murmured into his shoulder. He assured her he would and then she turned around to climb into the car where Rowan was so she could keep an eye on her.

The younger male stood by awkwardly as the siblings said their goodbyes. He was a little jealous since he didn't have any family left, not counting his close bond with Rowan, to say 'goodbye' and 'be safe' to. He gave a small wave to Lacey before turning away and following Beau, clipping the walkie to his belt and pulling the hem of his shirt over it. He had wanted to give the girl a big hug but he'd rather not have her brother waiting for him to sleep later that night to kill him for touching her. He crouched beside the older male, his eyes scanning the wasteland before them and shuddered as he heard the sounds of Clickers in the distance. He briefly pointed to an old basketball court but it was fenced in, "if we can get in and out without making too much noise then we should be good. It looks like the gates on either side are locked but it's nothing a bolt cutter can't get through."

Beau looked in the direction that Adam pointed to. "We could also climb right over if we're quick enough. I bet we could use bolt cutters to cut a hole through the fence too.... but we don't have any so we'll either have to find some or climb." He bit his lip, listening to all the clicks and mumbles of the infected. "They're all really concentrated on that street, so we'll have to avoid it if possible." The main street, of course. The side streets and alleys would be a little better, but even one runner could alert the rest. It was best to try and get to a building, climb up to the top and try to get across the rooftops.

Adam frowned slightly since he had lost his bolt cutters a few weeks back, those would've been pretty good to have at a time like this. He brushed it off since this wasn't the time to dwell on his stupidity. He gripped the straps of his bag in an attempt to curb his anxiety about the mad dash into the city. "I don't see any other choice besides the basketball course and going through the allies. The best we can do is pick them off quietly if we go around but it'll take a lot of time. And time was something they definitely did not have on their side.
(Sorry for the short replies ^^" )

[ no worries^^ ]
Beau drew in a breath. "Climbing in, then. Come on." Without waiting another moment, he crept low toward the basketball court. On the one side that faced the woods, there weren't any infected, but on the other side, there were. They would just have to deal with it as it came. Quietly, he clung to the fence, making a slow and steady ascend up it. Luckily, he got over without much issue, but they still had to get through the overgrown court without being spotted by the infected on the other side. They could use the growth as shelter and go whenever they had their backs turned.

Adam would've groaned his distaste of climbing if they were in any other situation but he didn't want to bring any attention to them or get hit by Beau. He followed the older male to the basketball court, remaining as quiet as he could while leaving the protection of the trees. The hairs on the back of his neck as he became alert, completely aware that they were in the open for anything to attack them. The brown haired boy remained on the ground as Beau climbed over so he could keep watch; it wouldn't be too helpful if they were spotted by an infected and it brought the attention of the rest towards them, also that fence is old. It'd make too much noise with the both of us climbing up it or it could topple over. He briefly glanced over his shoulder to make sure Beau was making progress so he could get himself to 'safety' as well.

Once Adam was over, Beau started to sneak in and out of the growth. A few times, the infected almost caught sight of them, but they were lucky enough to make it to the other side without getting spotted. If they could keep this up, then they would be fine once they got into the alleyways. Crouching behind a large mass of brush by the other fence, he took a peek over as some of the clickers clicked away and walked in circles. "Okay, you go first this time," he muttered, barely audible. Even at that volume, it caused a little disturbance among the clickers. They would have to be extra cautious and quiet climbing over the fence. Most of the infected around this side were clickers and the ones that looked like runners were hunched over, meaning their vision was cut off and it would be hard for them to see unless they walked right in front of them.

The younger male nodded and he did his best to swallow his fear. He wished he could be as confident and cool as Beau seemed to be; heck, he'd even wish to be as heartless as Rowan as long as it got him to safety. He wiped his sweaty palms on his jacket before gripping the chain link fence. Adam hoisted himself up and began to climb slowly so he didn't alert the runners or clickers on the other side. He froze when on clicker swung it's fungus covered face towards him before twitching and continuing along with an aimless shuffle. He didn't even let out a breath of relief for fear he would trigger one of them but he continued climbing until he was able to quietly drop down on the other side. He kept his pistols out and glanced to Beau, silently letting him know that it was his turn.

Once Adam was successfully over after a small clicker scare, Beau started to climb. He was so muscular and bulky from surviving all this time that it was hard for him to climb over so quietly. The chain rattled a little, bringing some attention to him from the clickers, and he froze every time, waiting for them to turn away before continuing on. Finally, he dropped to the ground and let out a sigh of relief that he had gotten over without getting detected. Silently, he motioned for Adam to follow before quietly slipping to the nearest alleyway. A single runner huddled by a dumpster and he moved forward, grabbing it in a strangle hold until it fell dead to the ground.

Adam tensed whenever Beau made the fence rattle and he held his breath for fear that making the slightest sound would kill them. His heart stopped racing once the other male was safe on the other side-- well, as safe as one can be surrounded by runners and clickers. He followed Beau when given the signal to follow, glancing behind him every now and then to make sure they weren't being followed by the infected, or worse, another survivor. Adam took a few steps ahead to peek around the corner of a building and it seemed fairly clear but he knew anything could be lurking in the shadows or in the stores along the street.

Beau felt a wave of relief wash over him after the runner was down. The rest of the alley seemed clear, but they had no idea what would be lurking ahead. The best thing they could probably do was climb to the top of one of the buildings and get a good aerial view of everything. He shot a glance over at Adam, motioning him toward the fire escape before beginning to climb. He was sure the buildings were overrun as well because a glance in one of the windows revealed the shadows of more infected. He shuddered and tried not to think about it as he continued to climb.

Adam was a bit hesitant to leave the streets since he would rather risk the infected than falling from the roof of a building. He swallowed his fear and followed Beau up the ladder, repeatedly telling himself silently to not look down so, of course, he did look down. He tightened his grip on the ladder and forced himself up the last few rungs. He doubled over once he was on the roof since he felt like he was going to hurl but he evened out his breathing and the color returned to his face. He turned away from the older male since he'd rather not talk about his sudden behavior. His feet inched closer to the edge and he scanned the roads but dropped to his stomach when he saw a vehicle speeding around a corner, gunfire piercing the air as a c*cky group wasted their ammo and stopped any clickers that came out from the shadows with a well-aimed bullet.

Once they reached the top, Beau was glad they had. A car came speeding into the streets and started to shoot randomly, luring the infected from their hiding spots. He crouched down, watching with narrowed eyes as they took out as many infected as they could before speeding away. Most likely hunters trying to clear the place up. At one point in time, he'd almost considered becoming one if it meant keeping Lacey safe. He'd learned how they operated and knew that this was most likely them. That meant they would have to be even more careful, but the streets were a little more clear of infected. "See anything that looks like it might have medical supplies?" he asked in a quiet voice, peeling the rifle off his shoulder and looking through the scope to try and see more distant buildings.

"So, those are hunters, huh?" He murmured then snapped to attention. "Uh.. One sec.." Adam breathed then his gaze swept the streets below. From travelling with Rowan for so long, he had learned that medical supplies are harder to find than friendly faces. Most places were picked clean but a few were still stocked. He kept his eyes peeled for pharmacies, military outposts, schools -- anything that seemed promising. He remained laying on his stomach in case the psychos returned but he didn't see much. As he was about to give Beau the bad news, he spotted a fenced in quarantine zone. He pointed to it even though it was a few blocks away, "see that? That's our best shot. Those idiots may have scoured the place but I doubt they got everything." Luckily, he knew a few names for antibiotics thanks to Rowan.

"Yes," Beau murmured, noticing the fences just as he did. Lowering his rifle, he nodded slightly, drawing in a breath. "We head there. Figure out their shifts and take out whoever gets in our way. Can't be noticed or they'll raise the alarm." Standing up, he shouldered the rifle and narrowed his eyes in determination. He couldn't let Rowan die and they were running out of time. Gritting his teeth, he took a few steps away from the ledge before getting a running start and leaping to the building next to it, landing in a roll and scrambling to his feet due to the momentum.

The plan to sneak into the base of some psychos with powerful military grade guns didn't thrill him any more than heights did. He nearly wet himself when Beau launched himself from one rooftop to the other. Adam swallowed hard and backed from the edge a bit and ran just as Beau had. He kept his gaze ahead of him and fixed on the older male, jumping over the space between the two buildings and rolling ungracefully on the other side. He stood once he came to a stop and grimaced when he looked at his scraped hands but he didn't pay them much attention since he knew there would be more where that came from. "What happens if the Hunters come around while we're searching through their stuff?"

Beau waited for Adam to come across. He noticed he was hesitant, but said nothing about it. If they were going to do this, they had to do things they didn't like and were afraid of. He wasn't particularly fond of climbing all the roofs, but it had to be done. Walking through the streets was a death sentence. He turned his head as Adam spoke, asking about what would happen if the Hunters found them. Pressing his lips together, he looked out over the street before returning his gaze to the boy. "We'll kill them," he answered grimly. Then, he took another leap to the next rooftop, landing with more ease than the last since it was closer.

Hysterical laughter threatened to bubble up but Adam remained silent to calm himself. He followed Beau across the chasm between the buildings but his landing, again, wasn't as graceful or coordinated as the older male's. He grumbled a curse under his breath since all of this roof hopping was exerting his energy which would be needed if they have to fight off the hunters. "How are we going to kill them? They seem to have plenty of guns and they have a vehicle. We might not even make a dent in their defenses." The walkie talkie clipped to his belt felt heavier since he felt the need to contact Lacey but he didn't want her worrying.
