okay so this is for a four-clan australian rp 𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗜𝗘〡𝑟𝑦𝑜 𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑘𝑎 𝑚𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙 as the head, this first post is specifically for everything i typed into my notes so it won't be pretty, but i'll make everything pretty later i promise - - please do not post
BAYCLAN
- moonpool in a cliff-side, pool in the floor, get there by swimming/climbing through a tunnel
- reef area for fishing/hunting
- mildly forested area for hunting
- apprentice assessment dive down to retrieve/save something
- tattoos using squid ink, herbs, salt water
- seaside cliffs, camp in cliff face
- diving rituals
- seashells represent love? different colors/shapes represent family versus s.o?
- eat more sea animals than land animals, both included in diet tho

history, qualities/values, common traits BayClan Legacy //
1. Baystar // the first storm
The first leader of Bayclan, Baystar was a calm, level-headed tom with a talent for dissolving problems between clanmates. His era of leadership is known as the First Storm because it was the beginning of BayClan. It was an era of building and companionship, but not much else because the clan was so new. He lost his last life to old age. He had four apprentices before finally losing his last life: Wildthorn, Tidefrost, Stormsong, and Sharkfang.
2. Sharkstar // the unbroken storm
Sharkstar, originally Sharkfang, was the second leader of BayClan. His era was known as the Unbroken Storm. This is because he was a wise, thoughtful leader, and managed to keep BayCLan out of trouble with the other clans for his entire reign. He lose his last life to a young tiger shark that wandered too far from home, ironically. He had two deputies before losing his last life: Rippletail and Reefstrike.
3. Reefstar // the expanding storm
When Reefstrike took over after the death of Sharkstar, no one thought he would do well as the third leader of BayClan. He proved them wrong, however, by being one of the best leaders these cats have had so far. He was able to expand their territory, and find ways to expand their hunting grounds in the reed, making his era the Expending Storm. He lost his last life to a particularly bad case of green cough. He had one apprentice before losing his last life: Seastorm.
4. Seastar // the raging storm
Previously Seastorm, the fourth leader of BayClan was force to be reckoned with - and not the good kind. He was a manipulator, and wanted the territory of the other clans for himself. Seastar believed he should be the one true leader of all the clans. He trained kits too early and exiled anyone too weak to fight - even for something as simple as a minor injury. He lost four apprentices in the battles he started, before the fifth finally ended his reign herself: Coralheart, Bluesmoke, Sharktail, Wavestep, and Minnowsong. He is the reason Sea- is a banned prefix, and his era is the Raging Storm.
5. Minnowstar // the silent storm
Minnowsong became Minnowstar, the fifth leader of BayClan, after finally ending the reign of the murderous Seastar. The clan was so distraught and embarrassed at their actions under the awful leader, that Minnowstar lead them in an era of peace and pacifism. She sought to rebuild from the horrors of Seastar's reign, and because of that, chose her only apprentice, before dying during kitting, to be Seastar's young daughter, Tideshade - much to the dismay of her clan. Hers is the Silent Storm.
6. Tidestar // current leader (the rebuilding storm)
Tidestar has only recently become leader, after the death of her previous friend and mentor Minnowstar. She seeks to continue Minnowstar's plans for rebuilding, and hopes that doing the best she can for her clan will make up for the horrific acts enacted by her father.
value persistence, determination, and well-roundedness. are very versatile and quick-witted, and love to think outside the box.

ranks and descriptions - might make two deputies as well as two med cat roles? hm
leader
- The highest ranking role in the clan. The leader is the epitome of what it means to be a BayClan cat, which is why the only way to become leader is to be chosen as the current leader's apprentice. A leader can call the clan to gather to meet, perform ceremonies, decide apprentice-mentor pairs, and 'bless' a mated pair (though this isn't as common a practice). The only ceremony a leader does not perform is the naming ceremony for a Shaman's or Healer's apprentice. Upon receiving their nine lives, each new leader takes the suffix '-star', and most meet with their General and Guardian as soon as possible to discuss if either one will retire or if they will continue their duties. It is very rare that a retirement takes place with the naming of a new leader, but it has happened before.
leader's apprentice
- The leader's apprentice is the successor to the current leader. They can be chosen or removed at any time, as they are chosen based on how well the current leader believes that represent the values and honor of a BayClan cat. They must be a warrior, and usually are expected to have had at least one apprentice, though this isn't a mandatory requirement. If, at any time, a leader's apprentice is found to not uphold the true values of BayClan cats, the leader has the ability to demote them back to warrior, until such time as a new apprentice is chosen or the demoted cat restores themselves in the eye of the leader.
general
- A general is what you would expect. They're in charge of border patrols and watching over the apprentices' battle training. Each general is elected by the Clan, and generals do not take on their own apprentice, as it is expected that they help the warriors with their apprentices all together, and an individual trainee would take too much of their attention. Like the guardian, a general has the opportunity at the naming of a new leader to retire, should they believe it necessary or their time, but this is not a common occurrence.
guardian
- A guardian is similar to a general, but takes over different areas. Where a general is in charge of battle training, the guardian watches over the hunting and awareness training of BayClan apprentices. They set the hunting parties and exploration parties, as well as take the lead on fortifying the camp walls to prevent invasion. Like the general, the guardian does not take on an apprentice of their own, and has the chance to retire at the naming of a new leader should they make the choice to do so.
healer
- A healer is self-explanatory. They are in charge of the health and well-being of the clan, and as such are often one of the more respected cats, next to the shaman, leader, and general/guardian. They train their apprentice at a rate unlike that of the warrior apprentices, because a healer has to learn everything a warrior does, as well as each herb, and their uses, and different techniques to treating wounds/illnesses.
healer's apprentice
- A healer's apprentice is the cat that the healer takes on to train in the ways of medicine and healing. They train at a much more advanced rate than the warrior apprentices, due to the addition of herbs and techniques that they must memorize and learn to apply or recognize even in the heat of battle.
shaman
- The shaman is the spiritual leader of the clan, in a sense. They are tasked with learning to read, interpret, and explain the messages given to the BayClan cats by StarClan. Typically, a shaman reads the waves and tides to receive their messages, but occasionally a storm will pass through that brings a message that is urgent or deadly. Next to the leader, the shaman is the most respected cat in the clan, due to their importance in keeping the clan close to their ancestors.
shaman's apprentice
- The shaman's apprentice is the cat that takes on the training of a shaman, and must learn to read and interpret messages before they can receive their full name. Often times, a shaman's apprentice will receive a name based on an important message that they receive, or occasionally a discovery that they are part of.
