Maybe if she hasn’t gotten away when the career pack disintergrates Alessandro tries to kill her and she takes him down. Or she tries to escape the pack and he tries to stop her leaving and she kills him) |

Holly found herself asleep, the days of lacking rest building an ability to sleep slightly well the nights before the games. The night right before wasn’t an exception.
Except, it was. Her features twitched as she snores softly, not loudly at all, her breathing like a gentle wind. Her ebony hair spilling over her face, and green eyes trapped in peaceful rest.
The dream, however, was a little odd. It included her, and a male sitting together in a nice meadow, just chatting like good friends. But their hands were held together, as they stared longingly at the sky. She was leaning into his side, staring at the stars before them, overseeing a nice lake.
It was peaceful but it was off it wasn’t a nightmare, and it included some boy for some reason. In her sleep, she didn’t take note of it.
“This is nice,” she said softly, in the dream, a smile gracing her features. “It’s nice to have a rest, and your sisters seem happy that we are here.” She softly whispered, as the breeze blew by. She looked more carefree, softer, happier and it brought out more genuine beauty in her. If only that was her.
The silence elapsed, and she smiled contently, staring at the sky.
“Yes,” that voice was oddly familiar, “It is nice, isn’t it?” She was reeling still at the voice, at least, she thought she was. But it was peaceful and soft, and comforting.
“I love this,” Her dream self concluded, leaning up and giving him a side hug, leaning into him some more, “And I love you, Burton.”
And the dream ended as she flew out of her bed in a frenzy, gasping for air as if it was some terrifying nightmare.
She held her temple in her hands, reflecting on the fading visions of the dream, before it struck her why the comment of Macaria’s about her and Burton being a ‘cute couple’ bothered her so much.
She fell for her dumb partner.
“Oh,” She whispered, before she looked up, “Well damnit.”

(I don’t have time for a Burton post this morning but I’ll get one up later I thought I’d lay out the sequence of events for having all the deaths happen as we want them to So Amadrya hangs out with the careers until Macaria kills Holly, at which point Amadrya realises she had better leave cos she will be seen as the next threat to the careers very quickly and she isn’t about to stick around. So she tries to leave that night when the careers are asleep but Alessandro tries to stop her/kill her and so she takes him down before she leaves. Everest chooses to follow her, and in abandoning the career pack he kills Macaria. Then Everest, after hanging out with Amadrya for a while, gets the message and kills her. Everest survives to the final two and has his very sad death) |

yep! I’m thinking he like just wanders around by himself for a while and doesn’t eat/sleep/etc and somehow manages to avoid everyone until it’s the final two and by that point he looks crazy, heavy lost weight, he’s sleep deprived and overall a shell of a human being)

(oh that’s a good question. I’m thinking maybe he surprises her and like stabs her (in the back?) or something, but she doesn’t die right away bc he didn’t execute the stab correctly bc he wasn’t focused, so then she says something that haunts him the rest of the games and he immediately regrets it and begs for her forgiveness?)

(yeah. Like, the capitol basically made him, and he gave up everything for them. But then it all fell apart at the end they are likely cheering for Burton to kill Everest.. So sad :( )

Coming up with good last words is a toughie. Maybe Amadrya asks him if it was worth it giving everything up for he Capitol, maybe she says she always kind of knew it’d be him who killed her, not sure. There are so many possibilities)

(I have an exam this morning so to relax afterwards I’ll probs write something.
Maybe a little flash forward to her death, but without saying exactly what she says when she gets stabbed because I feel like that should be a surprise for when it actually happens. But just like a general thing with her death scene)
