[ I'll be on earlier tomorrow for those that want to role-play. Work has just been aggravating lately and wearing me out.]

You think by now, that I would've learned not to play with fire if I don't want to get burned.

Hazeltalon {riverclan camp}
Hazeltalon chuckled as Brookpaw came tumbling out of the reeds, walking up to her apprentice. "Bold. And almost effective, if it wasn't for the clumsiness. I suppose this means you want to do battle training?" She asked, coming to a stop just in front of her kit. Of course, she expected that the answer was no; she was a harsh mentor, after all. Part of it was born from motherly love that wanted to make sure Brookpaw was as ready as possible when WindClan inevitably attacked, another part was simply wanting RiverClan's warriors to be ready when the time came.
Though, she supposed, it wouldn't be entirely surprising that she was a harsh mentor, given the fact that she was possibly too overzealous when it came to the matter of combat. She at least owned up to her nature; she wasn't shy about her fervor for combat, and didn't deny that she found it exciting rather than dreadful. However, having kits had mellowed her out slightly-where at one point Hazeltalon had been, in her opinion, one of the loudest voices for war against WindClan, she had quieted down, coming to respect the uneasy peace as necessary. Regardless, her tail waved eagerly at the prospect of battle training as she awaited her kit's response.

Rainbreeze » Rainbreeze was carefully trailing by the river bed, eyeing the water carefully as the fish swam about, trying to get away from his shadow. The medicine cat snorted and chuckled, quite happy he himself wasn't a warrior. He wouldn't be able to catch the scaly creatures- finding them a little too... well, dumb, for his taste. He'd probably be laughing at the fish all throughout his time an an apprentice. The black and white tom sat down by the river bed, curling his tail over his paws.
Starting to lose his train of thought, he blinked up at the forest and sunning rocks that loomed on the opposite side of the river. He sighed, recalling all the injuries and battles he heard about and witnessed take part over those rocks. He himself believed that Thunderclan used them more, for hunting of course, than the large pawed Riverclan warriors did. He shrugged the thoughts of the boulders used for sunning off before turning and getting up, deciding to continue on his herb hunt.
Sunflowerpaw was starting to get a cough, and he wanted it clear before she passed it on to anyone. Rainbreeze twitched his tail and started for the border with Windclan, in hopes he'd find some tansy or even some honey. He sniffed at the reeds and dirt before coming across a few stalks on their side of the stream. He picked a few before turning tail and heading back to camp. His tail waved ever so slightly in the air, ears perked for anything interesting happening around the camp.
A few paces away, he spotted Hazelthorn and Brookpaw. He frowned a little, feeling his heart almost lurch at the thought of not being able to spend quality time with his daughter as well. But it was his consiquence. No cat must know. Not yet at least. Sighing, the tom padded into the camp, heading towards the medicine cats den where he had left Sunflowerpaw. She was still sitting in front of the den, now washing her coat as she chatted up a storm with the young Fogkit, who seemed all too interested in how the young molly broke her back leg.
Snorting, Rainbreeze shooed the kitten away. "Hurry along now, Fogkit. I'm sure your mother is waiting for you. I need to tend to Sunflowerpaw's cough now." He meowed. The kit looked upset, tail drooping, but he nodded and bounded away. He turned to Sunflowerpaw and placed the tansy in front of her. "This will help treat your cough. If it's still bothering you later, I'll give you more. I'm going to go find some honey that should help as well. If you don't need more tansy later, then come see me before you go to bed. I'll give you some honey then to help you sleep. But until then, you're good to get back to training." The medicine cat meowed. He watched as Sunflowerpaw hastily ate the herbs before nodding and thanking him. She scampered off quickly, presumably to go find either her mentor or Spiderpaw, the one molly she seemed to always be around.
Shrugging, Rainbreeze slipped back into his den, deciding he would organize his herbs before heading out again. He wanted to be productive today, but he could only pray no cat would disturb him with a thorn in their paw, or another case of coughing. He could only hope.

b r o o k p a w — — — — — — — — — { riverclan camp } Brookpaw had gotten herself in a sticky situation. While her mother appeared to be amused, her eager to train her for battle made the apprentice uneasy. Compared to Hazeltalon, Brookpaw was a disaster in terms of war. She was still fresh out of the nursery, but it was obvious fighting would never be her forte. All Brookpaw wanted to do was impress her mother. Shuffling her paws, she avoided her mentor's gaze. "We could go hunting for a little bit.. The weather is nice enough for some fishing down near the falls, right?" she asked in a small voice. Her bi-colored eyes looked up into Hazeltalon's eyes, the eyes she took after her father. Brookpaw figured her mother wouldn't grace her today, but she could still hold some hope. coding & icon image by officialrainleafwcf
