Aye! Pilots here, I was just wondering if, since a ton of us are back/going back to school if anyone wanted to do a cute little fluff plot? The setting is Hawaii, and your characters can be pretty much anything but this isn't a supernatural plot or anything so please have realistic characters! If you don't I will be forced to be a little upset! Anywho, let's begin shall we?
Kalana filled her lungs with breath as a wave came. Pushing the nose of her board under the water she dived beneath it rather than catching it, after all the tide was coming in so there were plenty of waves. Her dark brown hair streamed behind her as the wave tried to tug her towards the shore, but she held her ground and came up behind the wave, the slightest hint of a smile in her dark brown gaze. Glancing towards shore she saw her younger twin brothers taking turns building and destroying sand castles while her dad sat on the front porch of their home waxing his own board. Ah yes, summer was in full swing which meant no school for her or her brothers, and her dad only working Thursday-Sunday, when the biggest crowds were at his surf shop.
She continued to gaze at their own little strip of beach which, while it wasn't private because that was illegal in Hawaii, was secluded enough to where they didn't normally get many visitors. The nineteen year old frowned slightly as she realized her thoughts may have been proved wrong as she saw movement at the edge of the forest that made their home so secluded, the only way for a car to get through it being the small dirt road that led to their house.
Kalana had been paying too much attention to the shore and hadn't noticed the wave that was now on top of her. As it crashed down she didn't try to stay on the board, instead diving out of the way so it didn't hit her. As the wave passed she broke the surface, spluttering slightly as she bobbed, now much closer to the shore. She climbed back onto her surfboard, soaking hair sticking uncomfortably to her bare shoulders. Glancing back at the shore she saw the source of the movement from earlier. A person, maybe more than one, she couldn't be sure. Paddling towards shore she jumped off once she reached standing depth and swam the rest of the way, curious more than anything.
Will was grumpy. His friends had convinced him that they could find a beach that wasn't quite so busy as the resort that they were staying at. He had agreed to go only half-heartedly, mostly because he didn't want to be surrounded by a ton of strangers. Phew was in the back of the little group, trailing behind them as he swatted at bugs and grumbled under his breath, hiking through a forest to find a beach that may or may not be there was not his idea of fun.
He supposed that on an island that took roughly thirty minutes to get from one end to the other by car had to have a beach eventually, but he couldn't help but wonder if his older brother had taken a wrong turn somewhere and that they were actually heading inland. Yes, his brother had dragged him along on this trip, the people with them were mostly Daniel's friends, but they were friendly enough to him, even if they were all mostly two years older than him.
Some of them carried surfboards, including Daniel who was currently laughing in the front of the group, "Hey Willy, you doin' alright back there?" The older blonde asked, waggling an eyebrow in the younger, grouchier brunette's direction. Yes he had dragged his brother along on this trip, after all, the 18 year old was going off to college soon and as the older brother, who had just graduated from college he was making it his goal to get the nerd to have some fun.
In his arms he carried two surfboards, one was his, the other was a friend's. He would have carried everyone's for them but alas, he only had two arms. Unfortunately, Will's worries were correct and Daniel had taken a wrong turn, but this was an island and they were still headed towards a beach, just not the one he had hoped to reach. All of a sudden, he could see the end of the woods, a laugh escaping him once again. "Yo! We've got water!" He called back as he picked up the pace, hitting the sand with a bright smile. Yes this was going to be great, even if he was oblivious to the family that was already here.
