warriorcats.com/content/article/history-of-the-clansI don’t know if anyone already posted about since this article was out for a while, but the “history of the clans” isn’t right. I’m currently rereading DotC’s (now on The Blazing Star) so everything that happened is fresh in my mind. What’s wrong with it: - The cats didn’t awake from battle, they were already awake. Probably just a bad choice of words. - They weren’t told anything in TFB that was said in the article EXCEPT for “unite or die”, and the prophecy of the Blazing Star, which wasn’t even mentioned in the article. I mean I get they were probably trying to sum up how the clans were formed, but I wish they were more accurate. And I know they’re working on adding SkyClan to the website, but making an article on how the clans formed and not even mention them is terrible.

It's a literal copy/paste of SoTC iirc, which is extremely outdated at this time since DoTC exists now which came long after SoTC did, the latter didn't even include Skyclan as I think it was kept secret until FQ released.
The fact that they're using it as the clan's "History" today is still super sloppy.

Ah I see. I didn’t even realize that. So it used to be canon before DotC, and for whatever reason they are still promoting that info.

I honestly think of it as the way modern Clan cats tell the story. I'm pretty sure the actual events got blurred and lost in time, and this version just seems like an elder telling a kit a dramatic version of what happened.

The warriors website is an embarrassment. More at 11.

This is even explained at the beginning of Secrets of the Clans, especially since the cats can only rely on word alone to pass stories down. It's why I'm not surprised the Great Battle at Fourtrees and Mothflight's supposed exile are so different in DotC and MFV. Really, the only thing that can genuinely be considered non-canon is the warrior code being created in a single generation; the rest, like Shadowstar being battle-hungry and Riverstar skipping Gatherings, can easily be explained by years of misinterpretations.

And I don't think it's supposed to be an exact copy. It's an oral tradition type of story that has some inaccuracies but is true to a certain degree.
