Haven't read it yet and was wondering what the general opinion was. I had the impression that most people thought it wasn't that great, but wanted to make a poll.
Edit: thanks for all your opinions!

i still dont get why they split the arc....i prefer one villain and plot for the whole arc. instead, the whole darktail thing was dealt with then the last few books was....? i dont even know what it was except for drama??

It's alright. The first four books were fine, with DN being a decent slow down book after Darktail's havoc, but I feel like they didn't know what to do by the rest of the arc's two books, especially in RoF which was just the cats waiting for Tigerheart to return.
Not great, really could've been better and tbh them killing Darktail brought the arc to a screeching halt, but not the worst arc either.

It started off strong then broke its legs and had to be dragged out behind the barn and shot several times to stop it from writhing.
Everything after Darktail's death actively made the arc worse. That all being said, the first four parts are okay, I have no real issue with them. For that reason, I over all am less harsh on it than something like TNP.

It's actually my favorite arc, behind DotC and TPB. Again, no fictional series is perfect and I wouldn't call AVoS awesome, but it's not bad. TNP and OotS are trash to me.

it could have been my second favorite arc, it really could have. all of the tension from different sides in the first three books, darktail's rise to power, the shadowclan apprentices rebelling, twigkit and violetkit's separation, skyclan's return..there was so much conflict, and it really reminded me of the first arc.
but then darktail and needletail, (two characters driving a lot of the conflict) both died in the same book, and it seemed like the editors themselves didn't know where to go from there. i still feel like a proper outline for the arc was never created
still, i love the first three books, and i quite like darkest night. it's just the last two that left the arc off on a sour note, in my opinion

I only got the chance to read TRS, so I got no opinion on it yet.

I actually like the multiple villains aspect, the clans delt with the Darktail problem relatively quickly and then moved to the problem of what to do with Skyclan. It gave the act more than one problem and dynamic.
I think there was a lot of filler in the Darktail plot but I also think it was ok filler, the clans being indecisive and divided is fine to me. But I also think that Skyclan and Shadowclan should have had more of a battle, one should have attacked the other to prove dominance and keep the land. The ending was too anticlimactic.
