{Rank Information}
All ranks have some knowledge of, and perform the duties of, the other ranks. However it had been agreed that dividing into their most talented areas would help streamline the day-to-day running of the base and make sure the necessities never ran low.
Leader:
The decision maker. The Leader assigns duties, doles out punishments and generally keeps order within the group. They are the first to wake and the last to sleep. When times are hard, they are often the one to get all the blame and often the last to use any supplies - From food to medicine to new clothing.
Second:
The Second is the Leader's understudy. Should the Leader be unavailable for any reason, the Second steps in. If the Leader were ever to die or leave the group, the Second would take over. They are also expected to support the Leader's decisions in public, no matter their own feelings, but to be the first to point out mistakes in private. They are the Leader's ear and are to help the Leader make decisions.
Healers: (Max 2)
The Healers are those with knowledge of both man-made remedies and those made from the natural resources around them. They spend most of their time in and around the Base, caring for the sick, elderly and those few who are expecting.
(Healer-In-Training? - Later?)
Those with a desire to learn how to heal others, through herbs and man-made medicines. Must be over 10 (12?) Years old.
Hunters:
Those who have skills with guns, bows and traps. They take advantage of the plentiful wildlife on the Island to help feed the Base and bring back hides and guts to dry for use in many different projects. Hunters are stealthy, patient members of the group.
Scavengers:
Those with the skills necessary to get around quickly. They usually stick to the man-made structures of the Island, but also spend time looking through cave systems and around natural formations, looking for anything that other, less fortunate, people have left behind.
Foragers:
Those with a in-depth knowledge of plants and their uses. They are the ones who collect the natural resources of the island. These include healing herbs, edible plants and fungi, tinder and even firewood, thought the last is a task usually taken care of by younger members of the community.
Teenagers(/In-training?):
Those between 12 (10?) and 18 (21?) Years Old. They are considered able enough to leave the base by themselves, so long as they remain within sight. They are given minor tasks to complete and usually shadow an adult in their duties.
Children:
Those under 12 (10?) Years old. They are considered too young to even step outside with a Weapon-wielding adult nearby. They are heavily protected and watched over by those on 'Light Duties'.
Light Duties (Different Name, definitely):
Those on 'Light Duties' are either too old, too sick or have some condition that prevents them from participating in the full range of day-to-day tasks. This would include Pregnant or Nursing Mothers. While alone they would have little chance of survival, the group keeps them safe. They normally take care of in-base tasks like cooking and cleaning, as well as taking care of the children.
