I love name raters! I always wanted to make one of these but never got around to it. Now, I don't know if I'm "tough" or not, but I will state my honest opinions in the politest way possible!
I accept any type of name: warrior names, Tribe names, early settlers' names (Half Moon, Gray Wing, etc.), and the works! You could even give me a name along with the cat's info (physical description, background, etc. ) and I'll tell you if I think it fits or not.
This is pretty much a classic name rater with a little bit of a twist what with the unique rating scale. I rate on a scale of 1-10 and provide reasons when requested! There's also a Hall of Fame and a Hall of Laughs. If you give me a really amazing name that I fall in love with, I'll reward you with (see poll). If your name makes me laugh, you get into the Hall of Laughs, I'll tell you a joke. Any rating can get into the Hall of Laughs, though I can guarantee it will probably will be on the lower end. Please do not attempt to get into the Hall of Laughs.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please tag me when you post so I can be notified and respond to you ASAP! Thanks! MY RATING SCALE:(ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS) 0: Canon name 1: *spits vehemently (in an angry cat way, not a vulgar human way)* 2: *wrinkles nose* 3: *shakes head* 4: *shrugs* 5: *makes mouth expressionless straight line* 6: *nods encouragingly* 7: *grins* 8: *gives thumbs up* 9: *claps* 10: *becomes cartoon character so hearts can replace irises and pupils, falls head over heels in love* (Red = claimed)HALL OF FAMEFadingstep - TellTaleHeart HALL OF LAUGHSPinkiepie - Mistmoon Yarnbrain - Weaselstar Toebean - TellTaleHeart

Icedapple-7 - This a nice name. I love the idea of dappled ice. If a river froze over then the ice wouldn't be solid white; this name captures that frozen river. Birdfeather-5 - I gave this a 5 because it isn't exactly bad, just not that imaginative. Mistleleaf-4 - I took Mistle- to mean the bird mistlethrush, but you told me it's in reference to mistletoe. I think I'll keep it a 4, however, because besides that the double "l"s don't work for me. Petaltuft-4 - This name makes sense for a cat with soft, fluffy fur but it just doesn't ring for me. Petal- is a delicate, pretty prefix that needs an appropriate suffix to match; I don't think -tuft is it. Smokecloud-3 - This name sounds awkward with the double "k" sounds. It doesn't roll smoothly off the tongue. Silverholly-6 - This name is also nice; it makes me think of a holly bush drenched in moonlight. It doesn't flow extremely smoothly however, which is why I gave it a 6. Dustfur-5 - Brackenstripe-4 - Again, Brackenstripe doesn't seem to flow smoothly. The -stripe sounds abrupt when you say it out loud. Oakclaw-5 - This name is right in the middle because while it is okay there's nothing unique or original about it. Barkfur-5 - Same as above. Splashwhisker-8 - Great job with this one! In my opinion, Splash- is a difficult prefix to find good suffixes for. I think you nailed it here! I didn't give it a higher rating because -whisker is a suffix that's a tad bit too common for me. There you are, embertuft ! Thanks for using my name rater, and please come again!-

Just as a note, the prefix Mistle refers to “mistletoe”, which is a plant.

Paleflutter - 7 - This name makes me think of a white dove in flight. Great job! Wrenfeather - 5 - There's nothing wrong with this name but nothing particularly special about it either. Tigersong - 6 - This name is lyrical in a way, so nice job! Sparrowbreath - 2 - This name doesn't make sense for me. Do sparrows have bad breath? I never knew that. Blizzardfang - 7 - Love it! This name makes me think that Blizzardfang's teeth and claws are as sharp as a blizzard. Foxclaw - 4 - Don't care much for this one; it sounds abrupt and doesn't flow together when you say it out loud. Dirtstorm - 1 - In the Warriors world, dirt isn't soil; it's dung. Calling someone dirt would be the ultimate insult. I don't think any queen would be cruel enough to name her kit Dirtkit. Toebean - 1 and HALL OF LAUGHS - Toekit? I don't think anyone would name their kit Toekit. Plus, Warrior cats have no idea what beans are. This name goes into the Hall of Laughs because...it made me laugh duhRosewing - 9 - I'm a big fan of the prefix Rose-. Also, I'm a poet who calls petals "wings", so this name really worked for me! Daisywish - 9 - Is it just me, or do you have a knack for flower names?? I've written a poem about the soul of flowers, and this ties in perfectly with my thinking! Love it! Mumblefang - 6 - You found a fitting suffix for what I consider a tricky prefix! Nice work! Spruceheart - 6 - Another fitting suffix for a fitting prefix. When a cat has a tree prefix with the suffix -heart, I imagine them to be sturdy in both body and mind. This name speaks greatly about the cat's loyalty in my opinion. Tallwind - 6 - A fitting suffix for Tall- ! Spidermoon - 4 - I don't like the pairing of -moon with Spider-. They just don't go together. Echograss - 3 - Same as above. I love the prefix Echo- and consider it to be tricky to find the right suffix. (Firestar nailed it with Echosong! I've never been able to find anything half as good!) To me, the prefix implies the presence of delicate sensibilities in a cat, and -grass doesn't support that. Sootpad - 4 - It's an okay name, but I'm not much of a fan of -pad.
Wildbriar With reasons would be appreciated! And there's plenty more where that came from. ...I may have a "making cats" problem. Here you are, TellTaleHeart ! Please post and tag me to recieve your joke. Remember, there's no shame in having one of your names in the Hall of Laughs! The name just made me laugh--doesn't everyone need that? I have the same "making cats" problem! I'd be happy to help you with it anytime Thanks for using my name rater, and please come again!

Wildbriar Joke please! ^-^ (And I'm not offended with Toebean going into the hall of laughs. Toebean and Dirtstorm were both joke names that just kinda stuck around.) Oh, okay! I just got worried some people would. Thanks for the second list! I'll get to work on it. Joke: Q: What do you do if you see a fire? A: Stop, Drop, and Invite Him to your Clan (I know, I know, it was bad, but I never said I'd hand out good ones )

Ivystream - 8 - Love it, my friend! Ivy- and -stream are both pretty and feminine and you joined them together to create a beautiful name for some she-cat out there. Goldenleaf- 6 - This name totally makes sense, but something doesn't work that well. To me, Golden- is a prefix that kinds of builds up to the excitement of the suffix when you say it out loud (that's why I love Goldenflower; fulfills all my expectations), but -leaf kind of falls flat. I'm weird I know XD Tangleleap - 3 - That double consonant thing is something I rarely tolerate; my preferences dictate that the name has to flow smoothly off the tongue, and this doesn’t cut it. Tanglestripe - 4- Imo the suffix -stripe should be used sparingly because it makes a lot of prefixes sound abrupt, and this is no exception. Tigerleg - 2 - The leg of a tiger? Just doesn’t make sense to me. Coldfur- 2 - This name is just--odd. Thunderclaw - 3 - A noble prefix, but -claw is way too generic for my liking . Plus, this name just doesn’t ring for me. Tallfrost - 5 - I love the suffix -frost, but Tall- isn’t the best prefix for it. Still, it’s okay. Littlefern - 6 - This name makes sense and the suffix doesn’t make it seem “offensive”. Nice! Redfoot- 3 - This doesn’t work for me. There’s nothing special about it. Russetwing- 4 - Prefix and suffix don’t go great together in my opinion. Sunfeather - 4 - Again, not the greatest suffix for chosen prefix, but it’s okay. Fawnstep- 0 - Canon name, sorry. She was the SkyClan medicine cat back when SkyClan got kicked out of the forest territory (see the novella Cloudstar’s Journey). Dawnwhisper - 7 - Very nice! I’m thinking of the whispering of wind at dawn. Love the imagery it conjures! Great job! Cindercloud- 3 - I don’t like -cloud for Cinder-. It sounds kind of awkward. Sandsplash- 4 - Interesting, but not to my liking. I can’t see sand being “splashed” because it’s dry. Rabbitstep - 4 - I’m not a fan of the prefix Rabbit-, but you found a suffix for a tricky prefix that I don’t hate, so I commend you on that. Here you go!

Sorry, TellTaleHeart . Weekends are busier for me. Here you go! Congrats on making it into the HF! Please post to recieve your kit.
Finfoot - 2 - I don’t care much for the combination.
Blackpool - 6 - Nice! Black- is so common in canon that it’s hard to find a suffix for it, but you nailed it with one of my favorite suffixes: -pool!
Fadingstep - 10 - Woot woot! You’ve made it into the Hall of Fame! I am in love with this name. It’s rich and lyrical and melancholy in a way I can’t describe. A-MAZE-ing!!
Heatherday - 1 - This name didn’t work for me. It was the -day that did it.
Bognose - 1 - What can I say? Dislike Bog-, dislike -nose.
Hollyflame - 5 - Meh. I like -flame but Holly- isn’t the right match for it.
Copperfrost - 5 - I love -frost, but there’s nothing so amazing about this name.
Icewing - 0 - Canon name. She’s a RiverClan queen.
Falconlight - 4 - I LOVE -light in certain applications but this is just blah.
Wolfgaze - 4 - This is just blah.
Honeythroat - 2 - I really don’t like -throat!
Bumbleshine - 3 - Bumble- sounds like an insult to me. If you want to name your kit after a bee, then call them Beekit. Plus, they don’t go well together.
Snaketail - 0 - Canon name. One was ShadowClan deputy when SkyClan was driven out of the forest, and another was a ShadowClan elder in the Power of Three arc.
Barkpoppy - 3 - I dislike the prefix Bark- but love -poppy. The combo doesn’t work, though.
Thornmask - 3- Not a good combo imo.
Jaggedtuft - 6 - Hooray! You matched a suffix I detest with a prefix that made me like the name!
Heavywillow - 1 - I love -willow, but not Heavy- as it sounds like an insult and I find hard to believe that anyone would name her kit that.
Mallowwater - 2 - I am very picky about double consonants and this is no exception. Plus I’m not much of a fan of the pairing.
Pikeleaf - 4 - Okay, but I don’t really like -leaf here.

Here you go, TellTaleHeart ! Your kit is posted below. And don't worry about the reminder; I needed it Cloverpath - 4 - Makes sense but I’m picky about -path. Silvermist - 5 - Makes sense and nice imagery I suppose but not exactly brilliant. Shadowflight Sootface - 3 - I tend to dislike -face because it sounds insulting to me. Sparrownose - 3 - I don’t like -nose. Stonefang - 6 - Makes sense and pairs well, but not quite original. Eaglefall - 4 - When you say it out loud the pre- and suffix don’t flow together well. Sagewhisker - 0 - Canon name. She was the ShadowClan medicine cat in the Super Edition Yellowfang’s Secret. Foxglow - 1 - Really not a fan of this one. It just doesn’t make sense. I have some nonsensical OCs that I let slide because they sound extremely nice, but this one isn’t it. Applesplash - 4 - Passable. It makes me think of a slo-mo video of a ripe red apple falling into a pool of water. Refreshing imagery lol Squirrelleap - I have an OC named Squirrelleap who was a minor character in one of my fan fics but I changed the name because of the ubiquitous double consonant. Vipergaze - 5 - Just average. Flamewish - 4 - I dislike -wish for Flame-. Brokendawn - 6 - -dawn is one of my absolute favorite suffixes, but I don’t think it works here. Badgerspots - 4 - Again, don’t like the pairing. Mottlefire - 3 - An unsavory combination. Badgerkit - black and white she-kit with amber eyes and black toes. Badgerkit is known around the clan for her loud voice and sharp tongue. Though she tends to keep to herself, she can be downright nasty when irritated. Despite this talent for harsh words, she often remains much more reserved than she would like to in social situations due to a fear of saying the wrong thing. However, to any in her small, tight-knit group of friends, it is blaringly clear that—between her loyalty to her clan and strong work ethic—she could make a wonderful leader someday if she can manage to get a leash on her temper.
