I was thinking about OoTS when I remembered the battle between Thunderclan and Shadowclan in which Russetfur was killed and Firestar lost a life; more cats seemed upset/concerned that Russetfur was killed in spite of the fact that she killed Firestar/made him lose a life. Is it more acceptable in Warriors for cats to kill a leader with multiple lives vs a warrior with one or am I misreading this situation?

I think it had more to do with the fact that since Firestar was a leader, they weren't too concerned over him since, since as far as they knew, he had more lives left, whereas Russetfur only had one. Plus, she was a respected ShadowClan cat and had been their deputy for several seasons, and had been killed in an attack from ThunderClan that—again, as far as ShadowClan knew—was practically a random invasion over a useless piece of land Firestar had given away.
It was probably more circumstance-based than anything. If the situations were reversed or if Firestar had one life left at the time, more cats would probably have cared for him than Russetfur, if not both.

Series 1 also established it's considered dishonorable to kill a deputy, didn't it?
