What style names do you prefer and what names do you like best?
While I like the Clans having a naming system based on ranking and such, I'm personally more fond of the way the ancient names sound. They still feel like Clan names while falling out of the "traditional" boundary restrictions, and a lot of their names make sense while sounding aesthetically pleasing.
Some of my favorites being: Wind Runner Shivering Rose Dust Muzzle (I'm really into "Muzzle" instead of "nose") Juniper Branch Quiet Rain Quick Water Rainswept Flower

hmmm I like both for different reasons. I feel like Clan names flow better, for example Graywing kind of reads faster than Gray Wing, where there's a slight pause, and I like the anticipation of not really knowing their warrior name until they earn it. It's kinda fun that way
However, I do like that the ancient cats are born with their full names (with some exceptions like Wind, Gorse, Fern, Willow, etc who added a word onto their name in respect to the mountain cat's customs). Jagged Peak was never Jagged Kit, they have their full names their whole lives, and I really like that. I also like that they're not bound by tradition, like you mentioned. One of my favorite names was Mud Paws, which wouldn't really be able to exist in the current clans because "paw" is reserved for apprentices only. I liked that name so much I made an oc called Smoke Paws lol

Ancient names can be way more flexible than the modern.
You can have "Star", a leader's suffix in the modern 'verse, as a prefix and/or suffix in an ancient name because it wasn't one restricted to rank, similar to having a name with paw in it, as that is for apprentices. I have a tom named Lone Star in my fanon tribe I'm developing atm because they work off Ancient names for their naming system and it's a lot more freeing to work without the restrictions the clans system have. Plus you can have something like say... "High Branch" as a name, and it isn't the most stupid name to have as an ancient name as it would be for the modern clan name system.
Modern clans are more familiar, but ancient names are more flexible imo. I like them both, just the latter offers more possibilities for naming.

I like both, but I think I like the modem names more. I got used to them over time, and I like seeing the rank of clanship in their names. I do like how ancient clans get their names when they’re born, since it still weirds me out a bit how Ravenpaw had his apprentice name while being a lomer

I don't mind either, tbh. In fact, I like both including Tribe names (I know this isn't about those but I like those too). I personally think that ancient and tribe names are more flexible, while Clan names can be more creative. For example, which would you say has the most flexible naming system and which has the most creative:
Ancient: Furled Bracken Jackdaw's Cry Jagged Peak Lion's Roar
Tribe: Rain That Rattles on Stones Crag Where Eagles Nest Storm Clouds at Dusk Sheer Path Beside Waterfall
Clan: Squirrelflight Poppyfrost Icecloud Leafshade
Overall, I think it depends on your preference. I usually go for Clan names, though, because I find it fun to come up with unique prefixes/suffixes never used before along with unique names.

I really like Tribe names the best if we’re being honest. You get some really dramatic and beautiful names from them.

I cba to look on the wiki to find my favourite names again, but I know Tribe names are very pretty and unique. I like Ancient Names the best as there is more creativity which you can have with names, but yet there are still some very nice Clan names.

While I find both to be delightfully unique, the Ancient naming process allows for more creativity as it is not restricted by rank. That point has already been made though, I'll add that the Ancient way of naming allows for more variety as well, as a slew of new adjectives are usable in this style (i.e. Quivering, Quiet, Rainswept), as well as the use of two syllable animals as a prefix.
