I don't really like him. He was bullied so he became the bully. Nothing too exciting about him, really.

Scourge being bullied has very little to do with what he did. It was part of it, but people seem to forget the whole being trapped in unfamiliar territory where every morsel has to be fought over. The reduction to "he was bullied so he became a bully" makes zero sense and isn't really something heavily considered. The most you could say was that he wanted revenge on Tigerstar for beating him up, but that was more of a dream than an actual plan for most of his life.
Anyway, I really like Scourge, one of the top villains for me. He had the most presence in terms of sheer power and his sorta polite attitude gave a real sense of him being a cool gangster-type villain compared to the other villains who basically drool evil and don't even pretend to have any kind of a heart. Scourge is unarguably more complex than they are, being that he was a genuine inspiration to the Twoleg Place cats and actually helped to save them from rogues. He also even gave Socks and Ruby food and gave them passage out of his territory, it'd be unthinkable for almost any other villain in the series to do that. Scourge is a villain that is actually more than just an evil brute, and that makes him stand out quite a bit.

He's okay, I guess. I'm mainly neutral on him.

Like Sol, he definitely has the foundations to be an excellent villain. He has a more of an impression in his short time, more than the villains of Whole Arcs. And Scourge killing Tigerstar instead of Firestar was a clever twist. However, like I said, he only has the foundations. He still came out of nowhere and should of been given more build up. Also, I would like to enjoy Scourge more but the Fandom's obsession with him makes that hard.

He was okay.
But like some people said, the fact that he was bullied and became a bully seems too simple. I think it's a mix of not only that, but his environment, plus revenge on Tigerstar, who attacked him when he was a kit.

I’ve always liked Scourge. A simple yet brutal villian, who easily had the most badass kill shot in the series.

He became his mask, so to speak. He had to play the role of being intimidating and cruel in order to survive until he truly was those things.
I love him and I love what they were trying to do with him, but if there could have been some foreshadowing of him earlier in the series he would have been even better.

Scourge killing Tigerstar instead of the typical hero kills villain trope was possibly the best thing about him. It was a part of why the first arc was good.

I think everyone else has pretty much summed up my opinions on him. He came out of nowhere yes, but he didn't come out of nowhere with random history in the clans. He just came from the twoleg place, and his story was explained through other books. Why would the forest cats care enough about what happened in the twoleg place to know about him anyways? It's not like Scourge was actively visiting the forest. Additionally, I liked how he was portrayed to be insignificant and then grew up to be a total ba too. He wasn't just inherently evil, he grew into it because he felt outcast, not because he was bullied. I'm not evil by any means, but I can relate to his feelings of hating everyone for judging him without knowing him. He was intelligent and threw a curve ball into the books, and I guess I really liked that.
