Hi there, I've just finished OOTS (4th series) and have already ordered DOTC (5th) as a box set to arrive in a week or so but noticed my library had AVOS(6th) ready to read. my main question is, without spoilers, could I start reading AVOS without reading DOTC first? The first four followed each other sequentially, but DOTC seems to be set earliest in the timeline, that being said, all other arcs has required knowledge of the earlier ones to, at least to me, fully "get", especially the end of OOTS with it referencingthe plot of the first and 2nd series particularly (and the 3rd throughout its whole storyline)
I don't mind waiting, but I'm really itching to continue reading, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, and reading the series out of order in general. I know there must be people here who read them out of order and still enjoyed them.
(Also, apologies if I got any of the acronyms wrong, been a while!)

The DoTC arc has no connection to the modern clans storyline and is separate from it, so read AVoS is ya want. You're not missing anything from the main story leaving DoTC unread, since it's in a completely different timeline from the past and all.

Cheers, Brindlefern. I'll see if I can check it out now and go back to DoTC when I'm done!
