So, after some thinking I finally got around to revising Tigerheart's Shadow. This is what I came up with, what do y'all think?
Do you guys think this would've been better than what we got in canon, or no? Honestly, I like what happened in canon but I prefer my version better. I might just revise the AVoS arc and maybe even the whole series if I felt like it, maybe share it here if I ever finish it.
Dovewing joins ShadowClan when Tigerheart offers. They go to Rowanstar and ask, to which he agrees as long as Tigerheart sheds his deputy rank. Relieved, he agrees. Tawnypelt becomes deputy in his place. Soon Puddleshine and Rowanstar begin receiving visions from StarClan, mainly of strange cats they haven't seen before, along with their missing Clanmates. Eventually Tigerheart begins having these visions, and asks them about it. They discuss it, and eventually Puddleshine says that maybe StarClan wants them to go look for their missing Clanmates, as well as finding more cats to join ShadowClan. Rowanstar is hesitant, due to him not wanting to send warriors out while they are still recovering with Darktail. Tigerheart suggests that he could go, along with any other warrior who wanted to come with to find these cats. Rowanstar is visibly upset, not wanting to lose his son. They argue about it until Rowanstar eventually concedes, but asks Tigerheart if he's really sure as his mate and unborn kits will need him. Rowanstar gives him two days to clearly think it through, and Tigerheart talks it over with Dovewing. She says that she would prefer it if he stayed, but understands that ShadowClan is in dire need of more cats. Tigerheart then tells Rowanstar he'd like to go. Strikestone and Grassheart end up going with him. They journey, and eventually stumble across the Guardian Cats like in canon TS. Only, Grassheart is badly wounded as she broke her leg on the way there. As they stay there, Ant, Cinnamon, and Blaze become interested in joining the Clans. They fight off the foxes like in canon, and then leave along with Ant, Cinnamon, Blaze, and Spire.
Things are the same for the most part on the journey back with Cloverfoot, Berryheart, Slatefur, and Sparrowtail. The cats develop a close bond. Once they arrive back in ShadowClan all the other cats are wary of the newcomers. Tigerheart says that he brought back cats to help make ShadowClan strong again. Some cats are angry because Cloverfoot, Berryheart, Slatefur, and Sparrowtail betrayed their Clan. Rowanstar reminds them that they also did as well, which shuts them up. Rowanstar then says he accepts these cats into ShadowClan's ranks, and take on Clan names. Blaze becomes Blazepaw and is apprenticed to Strikestone, Ant becomes Antpaw and is apprenticed to Stonewing, Cinnamon becomes Cinnamonpaw and is apprenticed to Grassheart, and Spire keeps his name and is eventually apprenticed to Puddleshine. Spire not taking a name spreads mistrust in the Clan. Dovewing and Tigerheart's kits have also been born, and they're named Lightkit, Pouncekit, and Shadekit(hah yeah you thought I was keeping that). However, Pouncekit sneaks out of camp later on and is almost killed by a badger; Spire then sacrifices himself for the kit. Then the Clan mourns him, and Rowanstar gives him a warrior name- Spiresight. Pouncekit is especially upset.
Rowanstar, Tigerheart, and Puddleshine then receive a shared dream from Spiresight. Spiresight tells them that they must stay strong for the storms to come, as ShadowClan must ride out the winds to survive. Tigerheart thinks that with Rowanstar beginning to regain his respect as a noble leader, ShadowClan will be strong once again.
