Oakstar nodded solemly as the medicine cat spoke. "That's what I was afraid you were going to say," he murmured, his pelt beginning to bristle with worry. "I fear I might have to take a trip to the Moonstone soon to see if they can give me answers as to what I should do." He sighed. "May StarClan guide us..." He stood, dipping his head respectfully. "Thank you, Wildheart. I'm sorry for intruding." He then turned and walked back out of the den, his head full of contemplation as to what he should do.
Before long, Ivypelt slipped back into camp, the moss ball still hanging from her jaws. She happened to just spot Oakstar coming from the medicine cat's den, and her eyes lit up. She trotted over to him, noticing he looked rather distracted. "Oakstar," she murmured through her ball. She set it down as Oakstar looked up at her, and she noticed his eyes looked clouded. "Iceheart and I had an idea while we were grabbing water. What if we dug a permanent pond in the camp?" Oakstar's ear flicked with intrigue. "We could build it beneath the hole in the rock that allows light into the camp. That way, when it rains, it gathers in a pool instead of spreading all throughout camp. And it would be a great place to store water now from the moss we carry in. Patrols can grab some and fill it when they return." There was a pause between the two for several moments as Oakstar thought, and he eventually nodded. "That's a well-thought plan. Begin the digging tonight and make sure to get one of those moss balls to Spidertail." Ivypelt nodded happily before turning back to her patrol, specifically looking at her apprentice. "Smokepaw, do you think you could bring your ball to Spidertail for her to drink?"
Firepaw looked up at the two older warriors as they spoke, noticing the saddened look in their eyes. This was not good. If the lake was this bad, he couldn't begin to imagine what the river must look like. Frostfur caught Firepaw's eye before he had a chance to avert his gaze, and Frostfur gently ran his tail across the apprentice's back for support. The two then followed Lostfoot out of the lakebed, heading towards the river and abandoned bridge.

Spidertail let out a laugh. "Of course, of course," she mewed, amusement sparkling in her green eyes. She pulled closer into herself before glancing to the ceiling to think. "Let's see... the Clan wasn't too much different than it is now. Mischevious apprentices, bossy senior warriors... grumpy elders," she added with a playful roll of her eyes. "You know, they complained about younger cats not getting any work done, and now I do the same thing." She chuckled as memories of the elders when she was an apprentice came to her. "Clan life doesn't change very much at its heart."

When Honeyslip finally caught up to the other cats, she tried her best to hide the heaving of her chest. She gently purred as Lightningfin licked the top of her head. He beat her every time they raced when they were younger and now wasn't any different. After pulling away from him, she gazed around the oakwood forest, letting the cool shade soak into her pelt. Her paws itched to find some prey, even if it was just one small mouse. "Do we hunt now?" she asked softly, then bent and licked her chest fur a few times.

Sleekmoon nodded to Honeyslip, “I’ll go that way.” she said, flicking her bushy tail deeper into the forest, past the training hollow. “Try by the Ancient Oak.” Sleekmoon dipped her head to the pair and padded off into the thicker undergrowth. She listened intently to the faint sound of the forest; dry, dead leaves swishing in the wind, or the shuffling of bushes. She took in the beauty of it all, then set her sights in prey.
Lightningfin watched Sleekmoon as she directed him and Honeyslip to the Ancient Oak, then padded off deeper into the forest. He switched his attention to Honeyslip, “Yeah, let’s stick together. It’ll be a lot more fun that way!” Lightningfin pricked his ears and padded as quietly as he could towards the Ancient Oak, which wasn’t all that quiet.

((I'm thinking of adding a Queen to my characters. Before I do, would anyone like her as a mate or sister?))
~Birchpaw With Spidertail - Mentions Smokepaw~
Birchpaw listened happily as Spidertail spoke, the familiar voice making her eyes droop as it washed over her. "I like hearing about it," She murmured, smiling as her tail flicked lazily, "Even if it's not much different from now." A low purr rumbled from the base of her throat. "What abut when you were an Apprentice?" Birchpaw asked, tilting her head slightly, "Who was your mentor? Did you get to do anything exciting?" She was interrupted as she saw Smokepaw start towards them.
~Smokepaw With Ivypelt, Spidertail and Brichpaw - Mentions Iceheart and Oakstar~
Smokepaw happily followed his mentor back into the Camp, listening with one ear as she spoke to Oakstar. He was distracted as he watched life in Camp around him. His name brought his focus back to Ivypelt. "Sure!" He chirped, beaming at her, "I'll go do that right now!" He smiled at Iceheart as she moved closer to Ivypelt, bounding over to where Spidertail and Birchpaw were. "Sorry to interrupt!" He meowed, setting the moss ball down in front of Spidertail, "But Ivypelt wanted me to bring this over to you."
Iceheart With Ivypelt - Mentions Oakstar and Smokepaw
Iceheart quietly followed Ivypelt into Camp, warmth in her gaze as she watched Smokepaw's excitement. She had an Apprentice before, but she missed teaching. Shaking her head, she walked behind Ivypelt over to Oakstar, staring impassively around the Camp as they discussed the idea of a pond being made. She ducked her head in respect to Oakstar and moved closer to Ivypelt as Smokepaw bounded off. "We should bring these other two to Wildheart," She suggested, motioning to the moss ball in her mouth, "He'll know who'll need them the most."

Wildheart watched as Oakstar left, turning a bit inward. He knew what happened when you mixed a dry forest with greenleaf heat; if it continued it meant the death of herbs, loss of prey- even a fire. Worried he padded out of his den. "Birchpaw?" he called out his apprentice's name before he spotted her speaking with Spidertail. Instantly he perked up.
Morningflower followed after Snailpaw. She wished she could share his easy optimism but the taste of the water told a different story. It was now bitter since the lakes had begun drying up, and she only lapped a little before stopping. "Frostfur!" she called, shaking the water off her whiskers, "Let's move on."

Ivypelt watched as her littermate moved back into his den, a tinge of worry filling her again. Oakstar had always been a bit of a worrier, but she'd never seen him this nervous before. He looked... Defeated, in a sense. The she-cat was brought back to reality when she heard Iceheart speaking to her about bringing the moss balls to Wildheart, and she nodded in agreement. "That's a good idea," she said. "Afterwards, we can get a start on the pond. We'll rest a bit and then I plan on taking Smokepaw to hunt a bit. You're welcome to join us if you'd like. Maybe you could be a fighting partner for him."
Frostfur and Firepaw walked side-by-side to the river, neither one really saying anything. Firepaw's eyes were clouded with thoughts. What would happen to the Clan if the water in the lakes and river ran out? Every cat needed water, and the prey needed water too. No water, no prey. No prey, hungry cats. Hungry cats... Firepaw shuddered before he realized Frostfur had stopped beside him. "Dear StarClan..." the warrior said, his voice filled with fright. Firepaw could understand why. The river was little more than a stream. It was less than half its usual size, and the water that flowed through it looked brown with dirt and mud. It barely even moved it was so small. "This isn't good..."

"My mentor was-" Spidertail started, but her ear flicked as she heard Smokepaw approach. When he set the moss ball down, she smiled up at him. "Oh, thank you, Smokepaw," she said, leaning down to sniff at the water. Thankfully, it was fresh and cool. "And thank Ivypelt for me as well. Now, where was I..." She turned her gaze back to Birchpaw. "Yes, right. My mentor was Maplenose. She was an older warrior by the time I was her apprentice. I was pretty annoying, looking back, and always picking fights with other apprentices, so I'm surprised she was able to handle me. She had to get tough to make me straighten up, and even threatened to hold back my warrior's ceremony."

Hawkflight frowned before moving himself closer to Hickorypelt, making their pelts brush. "That's awful... I'm sorry," he said carefully, trying his best not to make it awkward. "At least they're just dreams." Even if they were scary, Hawkflight figured (and hoped) that they wouldn't come true anytime soon.

Compared to Lightningfin's... clunkier pawsteps, Honeyslip made sure her steps were light to where the dry grass underneath her hardly made a sound. That was where the -slip in her name came from, after all. She kept her ears pricked and her mouth slightly parted once they made it to the Ancient Oak. She stood at her brother's side until something flickered in the corner of her eye; she turned and saw a small squirrel nibbling on a seed. She glanced at Lightningfin, then instinctively crouched and made her way over to it.

Snailpaw hurried to catch up and halted beside Firepaw. He gazed down at the river, which could be called a stream at this point. What was going on? His muzzle scrunched up at the dirty color it had turned. "Aw, gross," he muttered, then turned to look at the older warriors. His eyes were wide and concerned. "What if all the water in the lakes get dirty, too?"

Sleekmoon wandered the forest, more sight-seeing than hunting. It was eerily silent. All the prey is trying to get out of the heat too. She took a winding path towards an old rabbit den. Sure enough, she heard faint squeaks from the hole and it reeked of rabbit scent. Thank StarClan. This will be enough prey to feed many cats. Sleekmoon knew if they succeeded Ashwhisker would be proud. I can’t mess this up. She trotted quickly in the direction of the Ancient Oak.
Lightningfin blinked in surprise as Honeyslip dropped to the ground. Is there prey? He thought he could smell squirrel, but he wasn’t quite sure. His nose was pierced in his accident and ever since then his scenting skills hadn’t quite been the same. He turned his head slowly to the right, and saw the squirrel had been on his blind side. He dropped into a crouch and circled to the other side of the squirrel though the bushes, readying himself for Honeyslip to chase the squirrel into his paws.

~Birchpaw With Spidertail and Wildheart - Mentions Smokepaw~
Birchpaw smiled at Smokepaw as he dropped the moss ball and turned away, before setting her attention back on Spidertail. The young she-cat giggled slightly as Spidertail told her of her youthful exploits and gasped as she heard about the Elder almost being delayed from being a Warrior. "I can't imagine that at all," She replied, frowning, "I've heard you were a great Warrior." The silver tabby sighed, but smiled up at Spidertail. She opened her mouth to continued, but the sound of her name made her ears perk up. Birchpaw scrambled to her paws, turning to face her Mentor. "W-Wildheart!" She stammered, standing straight, "My apologies, I was just speaking to Spidertail while you were talking with Oakstar."
~Smokepaw and Iceheart With Ivypelt - Mentions Spidertail and Birchpaw~
Smokepaw nodded respectfully to Spidertail and smiled at Birchpaw before he turned to go back to his mentor. He padded up to the two she-cats, just catching the end of their conversation. "I can help dig!" He chirped, shaking out his fluffy fur, "I'm not tired at all yet." He glanced around, wondering where they would be digging it.
Iceheart blinked slowly at Smokepaw. 'That Apprentice has way too much energy,' She grumbled to herself, shaking her head and focusing her attention back on Ivypelt. The other she-cat was just slightly older than she was, and Iceheart remembered their time as Apprentices together. Iceheart let a small smile creep over her feature as she relaxed slightly. "Sounds good to me," She agreed, stretching out languidly, before motioning for Ivypelt to go ahead of her.
~Lostfoot With Firepaw, Frostfur, Morningflower and Snailpaw~
Lostfoot grimaced slightly at the state of the river. 'Oakstar is not going to be happy about this,' He thought, fatigue creeping over him as he remembered the Leader's troubled state that morning. He wished that it was good news, but this... The tom sighed, turning to the others. "Frostfur? Morningflower?" He called, level voice showing none of his turmoil, "Perhaps one of us should return to Camp to let Oakstar know of this? It's a bit lower than I was expecting and he'd probably prefer to hear it sooner rather than later." his eyes slipped to Snailpaw. "And never you worry, young Snailpaw," He purred reassuringly, "Even if Fox Lake becomes muddy, we still have Hawk Lake as a source of clean water."

Wildheart's whiskers trembled in amusement. "That's a good thing Birchpaw; I'm sure Spidertail wasn't too bothered by your company," he looked over the fluffy elder, dipping his head to her in greeting. "We were just going to gather some herbs if you don't mind me stealing away Birchpaw, Spidertail." He was glad to see the elder was in such good spirits in the middle of the drought; though he didn't imagine it would last for long.
Morningflower shook herself to attention; she was so focused on the poor state of the lake that she stopped paying attention to her apprentice and clanmates. "You're probably right Lostfoot. Besides there probably isn't much reason to linger here since this water is clearly undrinkable. I suppose it wouldn't kill me to let Oakstar know, if you're sure that he absolutely needs to." she rolled her eyes exaggeratedly, making a point to dramatize the whole thing.

Ivypelt purred in amusement as her apprentice volunteered to dig with them. "Though I'm proud of your drive to help," she began. "You need to save your strength. We're still hunting today, remember?" She gently nudged his shoulder. "You can help dig another time. For now, go rest up, and think about those hunting techniques I taught you." She then grabbed the moss ball and padded beside Iceheart to Wildheart, who was talking to Spidertail and Birchpaw. "I don't mean to interrupt, Wildheart, but we brought some moss soaked in water. We figured you could help us delegate who needs these most."
Frostfur's pelt began bristling with anger at Morningflower's retort. "You don't think he absolutely needs to know that the river is nearly dried out?" he hissed, his blue eyes glaring at her intently. He felt a soft brush of fur against his side, and he looked down to see wide brown eyes gazing back at him. Firepaw's eyes were filled with fear and the tension he was creating, and the older tom sighed, letting his pelt settle once more. "I'll go let him know," he said. "Since only one of us seems to understand the severity of the situation... He gave one last glance at Morningflower before darting in the opposite direction, his white pelt fading from view as he moved. Firepaw shuffled his paws gently, unable to know how to alleviate the tension in the air.

Morningflower snorted as she glared at Frostfur; how dare he talk to her like that? "I don't know what's wrong with your mentor but he's got bees in his brain if he thinks he can speak to me like I'm his apprentice." Morningflower turned to Firepaw, sizing up the ginger tom. "I remember when he was an apprentice. He was a pain then too." She looked over again at the shrinking river; it wouldn't be long before it dried up altogether.

~Birchpaw With Spidertail and Wildheart - Mentions Ivypelt and Iceheart~
Birchpaw ducked her head, shyly pleased with her Mentor's approval. The young tabby relaxed, padding to stand at Wildheart's side, chest puffing out ever so slightly with the pride and happiness that came with remembering her future role in the Clan. "It was really nice talking to you, Spidertail," She spoke up, bright smile transforming her usually-grumpy face, "I'd like to hear more later, if you don't mind."
~Smokepaw and Iceheart With Ivypelt and Wildheart - Mentions Spidertail and Birchpaw~
Smokepaw ducked his head, wanting to protest but acknowledging the truth of his mentor's words. "Alright," He sighed and turned away, padding over to the side of Camp as the two she-cats left to go to Wildheart. Huffing out a breath, the smokey tom lay down and curled tightly into a ball. 'Maybe a short nap,' He thought to himself, tucking his nose into his fluffy tail with a deep sigh of contentment.
Iceheart watched Smokepaw go, before padding over to Wildheart at Ivypelt's side. Her sharp eyes wandered over the Apprentice who seemed far more concerned with the Elder, and then on to Spidertail herself. Catching the eye of the retired Warrior, she ducked her head respectfully, before turning her attention back to the Medicine Cat, glad that they could finally get rid of th moss balls.
~Lostfoot With Firepaw, Morningflower and Snailpaw - Mentions Frostfur~
Lostfoot couldn't help make a sharp, irritated noise as Morningflower spoke. The usually calm tom struggled with himself for a moment, trying to retain the composed exterior he strives to maintain. Then the other Warrior turned to Firepaw and Lostfoot felt his composure snap. "Morningflower!" He hissed, a rare note of anger in his voice, "That is enough. Oakstar must know about the river now because if it stops flowing, it could mean bad things for our Clan and knowing earlier will give him time to consider other avenues should it be necessary. Our situation is not to be taken lightly." The three-legged Warrior moved towards her, barely restrained fury on his face as his voice lowered. "Firepaw is my Apprentice," He growled deeply, tail lashing, "And Frostfur is your fellow Warrior. Show both of them some respect." Stepping back, Lostfoot motioned to Firepaw to follow. "Come, Firepaw," He called, voice falling back into it's usually placid tones, "I think you will enjoy practising beneath the Pines. We haven't been since your introduction to the territory I believe."

Honeyslip wasn't paying attention to Lightningfin at first, only at the squirrel. She crept closer to the critter, her fur sweeping across the dry grass. Her eyes flitted over as she noticed her brother circling to the other side of the squirrel, and gave him a quick, small nod. Then she bunched up her haunches and, instead of pouncing on the squirrel, darted forward and hissed. The squirrel let out a squeak of terror and flipped around, headed toward Lightningfin.

Spidertail winked at the apprentice. "Well, good, no one who was there can tell you otherwise," she said, then turned her head as Wildheart approached. "That's alright, she wasn't too much of a bother." She flicked her tail across the cave floor and looked at Birchpaw. "I've got nothing better to do. Try and bring along your brother next time," she mewed. She dipped her head to the two medicine cats, then leaned down and started slowly lapping at the moss ball.

Firepaw shrunk back slightly as his mentor got visibly angry with Morningflower. Firepaw wasn't used to much conflict; the usual spat here and there between siblings, maybe, but not between warriors. This greenleaf was bringing the worst out of everyone. As quickly as Lostfoot's angry demeanor began, it was gone, and he was calling for Firepaw to follow him. The small apprentice gave a nod, glancing at Morningflower before hurrying to his mentor's side. Crossing the abandoned Twoleg bridge was especially difficult, because from the higher vantage point, it was even easier to see how small the river had gotten. He pinned his ears back in sadness at the state of the river. Usually, the river was loud and rushing, and the first time he'd seen it, it terrified him that he might fall in. Now, all he wished was to swim in that river.
A bundle of white dashed through the camp as Frostfur burst through the entrance, heading directly to Oakstar's den. "Oakstar," he began, attempting to regain his breath. "May I enter? I have news of the river." A pair of amber eyes glinted in the dark light of the den, and Oakstar's voice echoed slightly. "Come in, Frostfur." The white tom respectfully dipped his head to the older leader, and he entered the den. "Oakstar... The river is nearly dried up." As his eyes adjusted to the light, Frostfur could see Oakstar's expression fill with surprise. "Are you certain?" Frostfur nodded. "I came almost as soon as I saw it. It's barely a trickling stream now." Oakstar sat in silent contemplation for a few moments, his mind buzzing with worry and possibilities. "Thank you, Frostfur. Please, rest. You've travelled a long way." Frostfur dipped his head before exiting the den, the last thing he saw being a look of troubled concern on his leader's face.

Sleekmoon slowed as she came closer to the Ancient Oak. She saw Lightningfin’s bright golden pelt through the bushes, and she noticed how quiet they were. She gingerly moved to the edge of the clearing, seeing a squirrel sifting through the leaves in the center, most likely looking for food. Suddenly, Honeyslip lunged forward and frightened the squirrel. It dashed straight to Lightningfin, but saw him and veered away swiftly. The squirrel didn’t notice her in its fear, and basically dashed into her claws. It was a messy kill, but a kill nonetheless. She silently thanked StarClan for their luck, then turned to where Lightningfin was bouncing around.
Lightningfin waited for Honeyslip to make her move. The fluffy white molly slinked forward, then lashed out at the squirrel. It came barreling straight for him, but Lightningfin’s bright golden pelt shone. The squirrel saw him and dashed in a different direction. Lightningfin started towards it, but he knew they’d lost it. Mouse-dung! Suddenly, he saw a flash of silver. The squirrel squeaked in surprise, then it was killed. Lightningfin exploded, “Sleekmoon! I didn’t even know you were there! That was amazing! I thought we’d lost it! Honeyslip, did you see that?” he exclaimed, turning to his sister.

(The fact that I just realized Lostfoot only has three legs XD) "That's good to hear," Wildheart meowed cheerily, flicking Birchpaw's ear with his tail. "That means I'm not too bad as a mentor. How are you feeling today Spidertail?" He looked over the long furred elder; she looked healthy and he was making sure she felt as little of the drought as possible, but it would only be a matter of time before she did.
Bristling, a stiff legged Morningflower stalked after Lostfoot and Firepaw. If he thought this argument was over he had another thing coming. "Lostfoot!" she snapped, stalking right up to his face, "Who do you think I am? You think I don't know how important this is? I'm a warrior not your apprentice! You don't get to talk to me like that!" her tail lashed back and forth and she dug her claws into the dry ground.

Acornkit let out a petulant whine as the beetle he was occupying himself with finally scuttled away from his claws, he was sure if he was anymore bored his tail would fall off. Sitting pretty and patient in the shade while the warriors and their apprentices worked was never the golden-brown tabbies fortè and he was ready to just about burst from frustration. “Nightrose?” Acornkit mewled “I’m bored!!” Another whine built up in the back of his throat and smacked his fluffy tail against the ground. ==================================== Fawnleap rolled over in the musty den, she felt bad of course, the harsh heat was a lot for her thick and dark fur and it made her a poor hunter at best and a clumsy hinderance at worst, she tried her best to stay out of the way when the sun was at its highest, she stretched and glanced across the clearing she saw a forlorn frostfur exit Oakstars den “Frostfur?” Fawnleap called out curiously “ is something wrong? Snailpaw had watched the fight just as Firepaw did, his gaze shifted to the ground and his paws kneading the ground. When Morningflower stomped after him, he flicked his head up and scrambled to his paws to follow her. He knew this wasn't normal for either mentor. They were probably just stressed out from the dried up river. He caught up to trot beside Firepaw and looked over at the other tom nervously.

Honeyslip widened her eyes as the squirrel darted into Sleekmoon's paws, and she quickly stood up. She thought they must have lost it, but they were lucky the other warrior was there. She turned to Lightningtail and smiled at his enthusiasm. "I did. It was a great catch," she mewed before looking to Sleekmoon and nodding thankfully. "I hope it's not the last thing we catch today, though..." As she parted her jaws to scent the air, she wasn't even sure she could scent anything else around here. It sent shivers down her spine.

Nightrose twitched an ear at the familiar voice of her son. She rose, taking a moment to groom her soft fur. “You have to be patient, acorn.” She glanced around the clearing, noting the empty freshkill pile. She didn’t see many cats, and she hoped that meant many were out hunting or getting water. Frostfur had exited Oakstar’s den. Nightrose knew this meant bad news. She swept Acornkit into the nursery with her long, plumy tail, “It seems like grandma’s busy. Why don’t I teach you today? What are you curious about?” She settled into their nest. It’s about time for it to get changed, Nightrose realized, but I can’t blame the apprentices. Though I miss their company, I know they’ve been busy; keeping up with their training to become great members of the clan in this drought.

Spidertail sat up after a few licks of water to look at Wildheart. "Fine, so far. Just feeling more tired is all" she admitted, stretching out all her legs again. They got weary faster with the dry weather. "At least it's not cold and freezing up my joints." She huffed out a laugh at an attempt to lighten the situation, although she knew she could get sick much easier now. She wasn't the oldest she could be, as she had only moved in a few moons ago, but she certainly felt old.

~Lostfoot With Firepaw, Morningflower and Snailpaw - Mentions Frostfur and Oakstar~
Lostfoot breathed deeply through his nose, taking a moment to centre himself, pulling the calm he had tried so desperately to find in his youth over him. He turned to look at Morningflower, gaze placid once more. "I agree and apologise for loosing my temper," He rumbled, fur finally lying flat along his spine, "But Morningflower, you have been quicker to anger yourself today. Acting as if the sad state of the river is something Oakstar did not need to know of immediately. Insulting Frostfur behind his back, to a young cat you thought was his Apprentice. Snapping at every turn."
The tom shook his head, lifting his chin. "We are all on edge this season, but that is barely an excuse," Lostfoot's eyes turned to the trickle of water that was running under the bridge. He stared at it for a moment, before beginning to pad onwards, looking forward towards the cool shade of the Pinewood. "So," He continued as he motioned for the entire group to follow, "We both let this go for now. We have Apprentices to teach and prey to catch. Agreed?"
~Birchpaw With Spidertail and Wildheart - Mentions Ivypelt and Iceheart~
Birchpaw's ears folded back as she thought. She wanted to be ready in case Wildheart asked her a question about combatting Spidertail's tiredness. Her thoughts were interrupted by Ivypelt and Iceheart approaching and began talking to her mentor. She glanced up at Wildheart, before carefully suggesting, "Perhaps Nightrose and Acornkit could use one of them? I don't think they've been taken water today yet..."

Acornkit sneezed as his mother’s long tail gently swayed behind her “ Nightrose” he whined, batting at her tail with unsheathed claws “ I don’t wanna learn! It’s so hot out, can we please go for a walk?” Acornkit swiped at Nightrose’s tail again, lashing his tail in concentration as he pounced and landed in an ungainly heap on Nightrose’s back “ besides “ he spoke through a mouthful of fur “ no one is in the camp, it’s so boring!”

Ivypelt listened intently as Birchpaw spoke, impressed by the apprentice's initiative to do so. Hearing her say Nightrose and Acornkit, Ivypelt dipped her head. "I can bring it to them. Thank you, Birchpaw," she purred, taking her ball and glancing once more at Birchpaw. She's going to make a great medicine cat someday, she thought cheerily to herself. She then turned her gaze back to Nightrose and her kit, who seemed full of energy as always. "Hello, Nightrose, Acornkit," she greeted happily. "I've brought you both some moss filled with water."
Frostfur's ears pricked as he heard his name, and he glanced over to see Fawnleap at the entrance of the warriors' den. "Oakstar's fine," he said, trotting over to her. "He isn't the problem. The river is nearly dry." He sat down in front of her. "The river has never looked so bad. I'm still young, so I haven't encountered droughts in the past, but... Even Lostfoot seemed worried. It's not looking good for the Clan."
