Plot- You guy is a Delivery Man who picks up flowers from various shops and takes them to be sold in bigger stores. But there is one store in particular that has gotten your attention. It is run by a young man around your guy's same age and they are very soft spoken but very knowledgeable on plants of all kinds, though flowers are an obvious favorite. They have been wanting to ask them out for a few weeks, but then the other week they went in to finally ask them out, they weren't there someone else was. They were told that my guy was out of town for a while, no idea how long. Now about a month later he is back but something is troubling him. There are bruises on his skin and he isn't as smiley as usual. Will he find out what happened? What about asking him on a date? My character- Caspian Xavier Matthews/23/Male/Flower shop assistant- Two words to describe Caspian is petite and feminine. Yet this doesn’t seem to bother him in the slightest when called that by bullies or cooed by the elderly, his reaction is the same. A soft smile and then ducking his head and vanishing in the crowd or around a corner. His height comes to just under 5 feet, with no hope of gaining any more inches either. Cas’s skin tone is a delicate snow-white looking color, surprisingly marred by tattoos trailing down his arms and neck, slipping under his shirt. The ones of his arms are various quotes and each arm on the forearm is a design of an animal; on his right, a snail is coiled, on the left a wolf howled at the moon. Putting the tattoos aside, he has a sweet smile that sends light to his chocolate brown eyes. Framing those twinkling eyes is long black hair, with dark blue highlights throughout it. He likes to keep it down over his shoulders and back but every once in a while it is pulled back into a ponytail.
As for Caspian’s choice of clothing, he is pretty boring- choosing dark blue jeans, a solid colored v-neck short sleeve shirt, and black Vans, usually. Though he does keep a chain with the ‘One Ring’ from ‘Lord of the Rings’, around his neck. Otherwise, he doesn’t wear anything spectacular. Nor any leather that one would awesome a person with as many tattoos as he has would wear.
Caspian is very quiet, never one to raise his voice or show any upset at all. He does, however, always have a smile to give someone. His laugh is very quiet but full of joy. No most knowledge he doesn’t have a single bad bone in his body, though his appearance gives many at first the opposite impression. He loves to listen to people’s stories, good and bad. One thing not many notice is that he never speaks about his own life, or family if he has one. No, he is shockingly secretive when one really gives it some thought.

Liam James Hemingway: 25/Male/Delivery Man Liam has always been known as the guy you go to whenever you need anything. Advice, support, a hug, anything. He is a very friendly, soft-hearted person who is willing to share his experiences with everyone. Including his sexuality. He has always been open and honest about how he feels, and decided a long time ago that he shouldn't have to hide who he is to make others feel better about themselves.
Liam has sandy blond hair that is usually kept short on the sides and longer at the top. He has a bit of stubble that he likes to keep clean, and his golden brown eyes could light up any room. His skin is slightly tanned from loving to be out in the sun, and he's got freckles that dot his cheeks and nose. He has one tattoo on his left pectoral of a lion head. I wouldn't necessarily say I liked my job. I mean, making deliveries is fine and all, for the most part. I hated having to drive all over town was the thing. I liked walking, and I liked being able to experience fresh air without being confined to a small steel box. It didn't help that the steel box constantly smelled like flowers, either. Don't get me wrong, the flowers were beautiful, I just never really liked the smell of them. Call me crazy, but they made me nauseated if I stayed with them too long. Thankfully, I had to make quite a few stops throughout the day, so I usually got rid of the smell pretty early on. But it was my last stop that was always my favorite. I saved it for last every time, that way I could stay there as long as I wanted without worrying about another customer waiting for me to get to them. I smiled at the thought of it. I was on my way there now, the last set of arrangements sitting in the back of the van. It was odd, knowing I had something to look forward to on my route. But he always made it worth it. I pulled up to the curb in front of the store, and as I turned off the van and got out, I made sure to look at my reflection in the window and fix any stray hairs I had and tuck my shirt back into my gross khaki pants. I pulled open the van door and grabbed as many of the flowers as I could. There was a pretty big shipment this time. Oh, darn. I opened the door to the shop, looking around for my favorite employee. "Delivery," I called, heading up towards the register. "Caspian, you here?" I had only been making deliveries here for a couple of weeks now, but for some reason, Caspian had a pull on me that I could never really explain. Something about the way he tied his hair up in a ponytail, or the way he'd look at the flowers when I brought them... It was the most adorable thing I'd ever seen. I barely had enough courage to talk to him but, seeing as it was my job, I never really had a choice. Not that I was really complaining.

Really, as silly as it was Caspian loved flowers. He adored them, the smell, the feel, what they looked like. It fascinated him and made him very happy. In fact, it could be said that he preferred flowers over people... Well, at least that used to be the case. Up until a few weeks ago when a new delivery man was put on his route. Humming, Caspian sorted through bundles of flowers in the back room. His eyes chocolate eyes twinkling happily and a gentle smile on his soft pink lips. As he finished sorting the last few flower bundles a voice floated back to him and he grinned widely. Hurrying out from the back, his excited brown eyes first landed on the wonderful assortment of flowers and he squealed. "Oh! Hibiscus, Jasmine, and Lilly flowers! They are so beautiful!" he exclaimed, practically floating over with happiness. Now looking up at Liam, his smile went from one ear to the other. "Than you so much, Liam! They are utterly gorgeous," Cas gushed, hands clasped together as he almost bounced up and down. Ah Liam, what an interesting fellow. Right as the man entered his shop he could tell he wasn't a flower fan. Least not hugely. It both amused him and saddened him, flowers were such beautiful plants one should not find them distasteful. However, no matter his opinion he was kind to this man and found that he really enjoyed his visits. Each time tending to pick up a new flower and slipping it behind the man's ear, before rambling on and on about whatever its special meaning was. Speaking of... Turning slightly, he plucked a red rose from a vase and turned back to Liam, holding it out a sheepish smile on his lips. "Um, this symbolizes passion, power, appreciation, and uh l-love," he stammered the last, cheeks heating up. (Hope this is fine... I've never really done 1st person, so I did 3rd. (( No problem! I can do either POV, 1st person is just easier for me because it helps me feel the character more c: ))
As I saw the doors to the backroom open, my heart skipped a beat, and I grinned, seeing my favorite tattooed flower enthusiast walking towards me. "There you are," I said, setting down the shipments I carried. I watched as he listed the flowers, seeing his eyes light up with joy. God, he was adorable. Too adorable, honestly. My heart was drumming in my chest.
"Yeah, jasmine, lilies, hibiscus," I listed, looking down the list of deliveries I had for him. I checked them off on my clipboard, setting it down for a moment and turning to see Cas plucking a red rose. My cheeks flushed a gentle pick as he explained its meaning to me, and I chuckled lightly, taking it from his hands. "Aww, Cas, you're making me blush," I teased, though truthfully when my fingers touched his I could feel the blush deepen. My heart wouldn't silence. I put the rose between my teeth and gave him a flirtatious wink before laughing and sliding it behind my ear. "Thank you."
I picked the clipboard back up and grabbed a pen from my pocket, handing it to him. "If you could just sign off saying your delivery was received, we'll be all good." I honestly didn't want to go. Cas was one of the few people that made my job worth doing. Okay, maybe he was the only one who made my job worth doing.

(That's pretty cool!)
Eyes widening at the flirty wink sent my way, Caspian gulped and looked away, biting his lower lip to keep from smiling goofily. Then he nodded and returned his attention to Liam and his clipboard. Taking it, he scribbled down his name, it looked as if a child did it but hey, he couldn't be great at everything, right? Stepping back he smiled at the delivery man. "So, how are you today? Need any flowers for on your way out?" Cas asked, with a soft smile.
Caspian could just wish him a good day and watch him go. However, he wanted him to stay, if only for a bit longer.

I took the clipboard back from him once he'd finished writing his name, giving him a small smile and a nod. I scratched me cheek a bit, the stubble that grew on my face itching me slightly. Hearing his question, I shook my head. "No flowers today, I'm afraid. Besides this lovely little rose," I said, gently touching the stem as it rested behind my ear. "But I'm doing well overall. As well as someone who delivers flowers for a living could, I guess." I chuckled lightly. "What about you, Cas? How's business for ya?"

Caspian smiled softly as he listened to Liam talk, he couldn't help but take notice of how soothing his voice was. It calmed his jumpy nerves almost instantly. "The rose looks quite nice, it really suits you," he teased, eyes bright. "Well, I am very glad that you deliver flowers for a living. After all, how else would we have met?" Cas said in all seriousness.
Clasping his hands behind his back, he rocked on his heels and a flicker of worry crossed his eyes at Liam's last question. "Ah, not amazingly I'm afraid. I mean, my regular customers come in still, but so far no new customers have made an appearance," he explained, no longer rocking on his heels and giving a lame shrug. "With the bigger stores getting bigger inventory and advertisement, my small shop pales in comparison."
Chocolate eyes wandered to the flowers and he yelped, darting forward he checked the water level that some of the bundles of flowers were in and cursed. Turning, he quickly disappeared into the back and after a moment returned with a large box of vases. Setting it down he once again turned and vanished into the back, returning with a pitcher that held a gallon of water and poured a good amount in each vase. Then he went to the delivered flowers and began to transfer them, muttering to himself, "Poor things. You need fresh water and more of it. Don't worry, I've got you. You are so pretty we don't want you wilting."

(( Oh gawd I'm so sorry I lowkey forgot you responded to these! ))
I smiled a bit as Cas complimented the rose on me. I hoped he thought it looked good. I mean, he was the one who gave it to me. I took the clipboard and slid the pen back into its holder on the clipboard, missing what he said after he complimented me. I was about to ask him to repeat it when he gave a small scream, causing me to jump. I blinked a few times, watching as he dipped into the back to grab some water. "Uh, well, I don't want to keep you," I insisted, "And I should be heading back to the warehouse anyway. I'll see you when your next shipment comes in, Cas." I gave a small wave, watching as he tended to his plants so carefully. I watched his eyes, and his his hands delicately held the water jug, and I turned, heading back out the door.

(Yeah, I just started community college this week as well. 3-hour lecture from 5pm to 8pm yesterday. XD That must be very difficult. I'm here if you ever need to talk or rant, or whatever. *bakes you a vanilla cake with chocolate gauche and frosting, oh and slivers of white chocolate on top* ... XD Sorry, the baker in me. Hmm, nah. I'll start. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6575102/images/lNtnPuxeCzkaKMNYVXVv.gif) You did the last post after all.) Caspian stepped into the darkened flower shop with a large yawn, the familiar smell of flowers and... safety, flowed over him. The tension that had been placed upon his shoulder and seemed to grow every day the last month was lifted from his tired shoulders. A small smile touched his chapped lips and he switched the lights on, wincing at the bright light but then standing and taking a moment to adjust his sight. Shaking his head, he limped in and went to the back, where he stretched and grunted as he heard his muscles pop. Walking into the back bathroom he stood in front of the mirror. Taking out a hair tie, he pulled his hair up- Oh. Tired chocolate eyes spotted bruises on the side of his neck and he grimaced. Dropping his hair back over his neck, he turned and left the bathroom swiftly. Ot was a good thing he put foundation on the rest of his inujures at hme, he just didn't realize taht his neck had some too. Returning to the front room, he moved around familiarizing himself with where everything was. Then he gathered a few vases and carried them to the back where he changed out the water, his movements sluggish. A few hours later he was standing at the counter and had just helped a few regulars who were quite happy to see him, waving as they left. As soon as they were gone his small fake smile slipped away and he hung his head, feeling completely worn out.

(( LOL immediately bakes me a cake, you've already seen my weaknesses xD I've had a three-hour lecture the last three semesters, so I'm pretty used to them at this point. They get easier lol. Honestly the studying abroad thing isn't too bad. The worst part is the time differences, because I'm 14 hours ahead of where I'm from so it's hard to really talk to anyone ))
I thought maybe I'd scared him off. Maybe he'd sensed I was into him and ran before I had the chance to make my move. I didn't really know what happened to him, all I know was he was gone. I went by the store a few days later after I finally got the courage to ask him on a date and when I did, some young girl was there instead. I asked where Cas was, and she basically just told me he 'wasn't here.' But that didn't help me.
I had two more deliveries during the time he was gone. I was worried, but figured I did something wrong. I didn't know if he was gone because of me, but... I just wanted him back. My deliveries were no longer fun for me. I loathed going to my job, getting in that van. And I hated the smell of flowers even more now.
I regretfully opened my van again after parking in front of his store, wishing I didn't have to be here. I grabbed the single order of hydrangeas I had - yes, I learned some flowers. I had brought a bouquet of calla lilies and carnations when I went to ask him out. But those ended up in a trash. I walked into the shop, keeping my eyes down as I entered. "Delivery," I called, looking around the store. My heart stopped as I saw who was at the counter. "Cas?" He looked different though. Surrounded by his one passion, his head was down, and his hair wasn't in its usual ponytail. He looked defeated... What had happened to him? "Dude, where have you been?"

(Muahahaha! Wow. That is good to know though. It was interesting but looooong. XD Ah, that makes a lot of sense. I'd hate having to adjust to such a big time difference and not having anyone to talk to. I hope it gets easier fast. Do you have Discord? I'm always on that if you want to talk but don't feel like RPing. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6575102/images/lNtnPuxeCzkaKMNYVXVv.gif) ) Head snapping up, Caspian could only stare. Liam. One person he and missed so much this past month, but forced himself to put him out f his mind until now. He looked surprised, tired too. Guilt flooded him, he hadn't even told him he was leaving. Of course, he hadn't planned on doing such a thing, ever. But still, he could have tried to send a note- no, too risky. Not saying anything had been for the best. Swallowing, he managed a weak smile. "Hey, Liam. Long time no see," he mumbled, voice hoarse. Mentally, Cas was frazzled and overwhelmed. Everything that had happened recently was hitting him all at once and it was not a fun feeling. Tears began to prickle his eyes and they widened in surprise before he blinked rapidly, rubbing his eyes. "S-Sorry, must be allergies," he said, his entire body aching from holding everything back. However, he couldn't breakdown, not here or with him.

(( I do have a Discord! It's Dizney #0977 because I use this username for pretty much everything lol ))
My eyebrows immediately furrowed in confusion. This was not my Cas. This Cas looked frailer, thinner, more fragile. He looked like he was about to break at any moment. I could see small bruises littering his skin, they were faint, but they were there. His hair tried to cover some on his neck, but I could see past their veil. I almost dropped the flowers I was so stunned, but I managed to just set them down and walk to him, looking at him closely now. "Cas, where have you been." I asked again, more forceful this time. Truthfully, I was angry. How could he not have told me he was leaving? How could he just up and go like that without so much as a goodbye? We weren't dating, I thought to myself. But I still felt angry.
I gently moved my hand to his cheek, caressing his face lightly as I took in his features. "You look awful," I told him. "What happened to you?"

Chocolate eye widened at his forwardness. This genuinely surprised the flower assistant because he did not see why he would care? He was no one special, in fact, he was much less than that. Why would anyone, especially someone as amazing at Laim ask him such a thing, in such a concerned manner? It made no sense to the young man...
Swallowing, he managed to open his mouth when suddenly a sound filled the flower shop. A ring, it was the last ringtone he wanted to hear right now. It made him tense up and look ready to cry. Biting his lips, he forced an easy smile at Gerald before reaching behind him and taking out his cell. It was a beat up Galaxy J7 or whatever, he was a flower kinda person, not a phone guy.
Breathing out, he raised the phone to his ear speaking in soft tones, "Hello?" A voice suddenly blasted through the phone yelling and cursing. Pulling the phone back, Caspian went wide-eyed and paled several shades. Gulping audibly, he reluctantly put the phone back to his ear as the yelling stopped. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't realize- I guess I forgot to take him out. I swear, it won't happen again," he rambled as he apologized profusely to the person on the other side of the phone. Now he had completely forgotten about Liam standing there, watching and hearing this all. "Gaddamn. Caspian, I swear you will be in a world of hurt when you get back home!" Alexander snarled through the phone, blue eyes blazing with fury. How dare the little good-for-nothing do this! How irresponsible and stupid could the dolt be?! All he cared about were he stupid flowers. Well, he would make sure that Caspian never forgot to take the dog out again.
Flinching, Caspian now realized that tears were slowly falling down his face and that Gerald was still there. Looking ready to throw up, he knew he needed to concluded this and fast. "I-I'm so sorry, Alex. I've got to go, a customer is here. I'll... I'll speak with you when I get home..." he paused at the end of his words, the next few words he knew he had to say. If not, he'd be in even more trouble, yet when he thought about Liam standing there watching and listening he didn't want to. "I love you, bye," he finally whispered, voice hoarse and then he quickly ended the call and dropped the phone to the counter, stepping back gasping.
Shaking his head, his whole body trembled. "I'm sorry, Liam. So sorry... I... I'm sorry," he rasped this out over and over, frantically.
(Totally did not break my heart writing this...)

He kept avoiding my question. He was definitely hiding something, and I couldn't tell what. All I knew was something within this last month really hurt him, and he had changed a lot because of it. I pulled my hand away as his phone started ringing, and I frowned as he picked it up. I heard a voice screaming through it, but the exact words were hard to pick up. Whoever it was, Cas didn't look happy to be talking to them. He just looked terrified.
And then I heard him say those words... I love you. My eyes narrowed slightly. Oh. He was taken. That made sense. By someone who probably didn't deserve him, but whatever. I sighed once he got off the phone, and I shook my head once he kept apologizing to me. "You have nothing to apologize for," I said bluntly. I was even angrier now then I was before. Whoever this person was, Cas shouldn't have been dating them. But he obviously didn't want me, so who was I to judge? "Just, sign the clipboard... You have a customer, so I don't want to hold you up."
Cas was obviously in a lot of pain, mentally and physically. But he didn't want to tell me why. So who was I to barge in on his life? Besides, we barely even really knew each other. We were practically strangers... And I was just doing my job.

Caspian took a few deep breaths before taking the pen and quickly signing his name. "It... Was nice to see you, Liam," he murmured before turning his attention on the bundle of flowers. Marigold, one flower that represented pain or sadness. How fitting. Shaking his head, Caspian picked the flowers up and switched them to an empty but clean vase. Filling a pitcher with cool water he poured it slowly, watching the water as it fell, in a dazed manner.
