Lucy jumped, dropping the bowl of water she had been holding. The porcelain shattered when it hit the ground. Lucy placed a hand on her chest and turned to glare at him, though the flush on her face showed how embarrassed she was. "Ryder." She said softly, "I thought you had left."

Lucy took the pieces from him and placed them on the sink. She stepped closer to him and she cupped his face, staring at him silently. After a few seconds her eyes started to well with tears and she bascially collapsed onto him, hands curled in his shirt."i'm sorry for being so harsh on you." She whispered, her voice cracking. "I... i ... i just couldn't bare the thought that you left me. You died. You were never going to come back and oh Ryder, how i missed you." She sniffed quietly hiding her face.

(Dude you are brilliant.)
Lucy let out another quiet sob, whimpering quietly at the affection. "I d-don't think that I will ever be able to f-forgive you." She whispered, voice cracking serval times. Tears ran down her cheeks and soaked Ryder's shirt. "But I still love you. I never stopped. Gosh," she pulled her head away to look up at him. "Who would have thought that i was possible for me to have a second change. After you died ...I lost everything. Please don't leave me again. I'm sorry for what i said last night."

(Your characterisations of Ryder is very believable.) Lucy leant her head into his hand, closing her eyes as she gripped his hand. "I don't want you to leave me again." (Urghhh... sorry for a terrible post What would you think if the guards broke in just now?)

(Gosh, thanks. I think that he still needs some work done to be completely believable, but I'm glad you think of him like that. :3 Also, it's fine. Hmmm, I think it'd be interesting. Lucy can see the killer side of him he never wanted her to see. ) "I don't want to leave you either," Ryder murmured. His eyes searched her face, as if trying to memorize every detail all over again. "God, I don't want to leave again," he repeated before leaning forward to kiss her gently. He had held back as long as he could, but he had dreamt of kissing her again for years. Might as well do so while he had the chance.

Lucy let out a quiet noise and kissed him back, gripping at the side os his face as if he would fade away and never come back. Lost in the kiss, she didn't hear the knock on the door, or the crash that followed as two guards barged into her home. They came into the kitchen and started shouting at the two of them. Lucy broke away from the kiss and turned around. "How dare you!" She shouted at them. "You have no right-" She was cut off as one of them brandished a sword at her.

Ryder held her close to him during the kiss, his hands clinging to her shirt. Too long. It had been too long since he was in this position last. Yet however much he longed to loose himself in the kiss, the knock at the door caught his attention. Before he had a chance to pull away, though, the door crashed in and the two guards were upon them before he had a chance to do anything. The man was proud of Lucy for trying to stand up to the guards, but of course, it didn't do much. Not when they were both armed. Instinctively, Ryder pushed her behind him, calculating his chances if they both attacked at once. Had this been any other run in with guards, he would have taken them no problem. However, he was still weak from his injuries. His best hope was if they tried to reach him one at a time.

(I'll tell you what's really really weird, but so so funny. Cyanide and Happiness)
Lucy yelped as she was shoved behind Ryder but had no time to process it as the guard shouted at Ryder, swinging his sword at the man. The other one, however, stepped around him and his partner and went straight for Lucy, who screamed. The guard had no intention on hurting her, however. He just wanted to get a ride out of the legendary assassin.

They hav e youtube videos too.))
The guards, having been told that the assassin was apparently close to death, were underprepared for the defense mounted. The on that had been punched, now winced fell to the floor, wheezing, the other had grabbed ahold of Lucy and was holding his longsword at her throat, his other arm pinning her to his chest she was quiet clearly distressed. Tears ran down her cheeks and she was trembling terribly. As big as she liked to talk, she wasn't able to defend herself from somethign like this in thr slightest. "Submit assassin." The guard ordered, shifting the blade, making Lucy flinch. "Or she dies."

Lucy eyed him fearfully. This man in front her now was not her Ryder. Not the man she had fallen for. Not the boy she had grown up with and she was slightly unsure if she even wanted to be saved by him. The guard's twitch of hos blade at her throat brought it closed and she could feel the sharp edge touching her skin. She let out a quiet whimper. The guard face had gone red at Ryder's words and her tightened his grip on Lucy. "Your mind tricks won't work on me, murderer."

"Oh, but it was not a mind trick. I was stating a fact," Ryder said, giving a cold smile. He had to get him away from Lucy. The fear in her eyes twisted his guts with guilt. He was the reason she was in this mess now, but he couldn't show weakness. If he did, there would be no hope of both of them leaving unharmed. "If you are as worth of an opponent as you claim to be, then why are you letting the fear of the doctor's life do your job for you?" he continued. "Honestly, I could leave any time I like and you wouldn't harm her. Not unless you want to lose the best doctor in town and get into trouble with your higher ups. What will they say when you tell them you killed an innocent civilian instead of the assassin?" He chuckled and took a step back towards the door, taunting him. He wouldn't leave, but the guard didn't have to know that. "So really, if you don't want to return to base with your tail between your legs in shame, then fight me. What do you have to loose?" It was a taunt he always used when forced into one-on-one combat, a form of fighting he tried to aviod. What did they have to loose? Their lives, yes, but most people who were hunting him hardly gave that any thought before charging him. It was sad to watch, really, and it made him feel bad. Then again, it had been their choice to pick a fight with him.

(Urgh i need sleep. Bbl srry)
The guard sneered ar Ryder, but lowered his sword away from Lucy's neck. She remained tense however and when he left go of her, her knees gave out and she crumbled to the floor, staring unblinkily at nothing, she was still trembling, terrified of what would happen to her next. The guard swung the butt of his sword into the back oher her lead and she let out a cry of pain and fear as she curled in on herself, whimpering.
He let out a low chuckle. "She may be the best doctor in the town, but bynhelping you, she is a traitor who should be killed." He stepped closer to Ryder, sword raised.

(It's okay! ^^ )
Ryder's grip tightened on the handle of his knife as the guard hit Lucy. For that, he wanted to send the blade flying at his head. However, he waited. He wanted the man to step far enough away from her before he did anything. The guard might have a sword, but he still had the advantage. The kitchen was no room for fighting, especially not with a sword. So the guard's strokes would be limited, which gave Ryder plenty of opportunities to dodge him. So with that knowledge, he waited for the other man to strike first. "Last time I checked, it was a doctor's job to help anyone who needed it, without questions asked. Besides, had she not, you wouldn't have this golden opportunity now, would you?" he asked, his grin never faltering.

The guard scowled again, eyes darting around the room before back to Ryder. He darted forward, swinging his sword, which knocked one of Lucy's dishes onto the ground, shattering it.

They both fell to the ground, the guard, his sword across the room and out of his grip. He reached up to strangle Ryder.

The man gurgled for a couple of seconds before going still. His eyes glassy. Lucy was on the ground, she hadn't moved since she had been dropped. She was staring unblinkingly at the now dead guard, her own eyes glassy with tears, her whole body was trembling.
(okay, goodnight!)

"Ryder..." His name came out like a gasp from Lucy's lips as she very very slowly looked up at him. She opened her mouth to say something, gulped, and looked away from him again. She squeezed her trembling hands into fists and closed her eyes tight. She opened them again and stared at the dead guard. She had seen dead people before. The life of a doctor, of course. But she had never felt the sick satisfcation of a death before and it made her feel sick to her stomach. She was terrified of this feeling and she turned her head to the side and gagged, dry heaving from the lack of food in her system. She forced a rational mind over her fear but she still trembled as she slowly pulled herself to her feet. Her voice was hoarse and shook as she spoke. "Y-you have to get r-rid of the bodies." She murmured, looking anywhere but her fiance. "I-if they come looking - I ... They might bring m-more people and you -" She looked at him and her eyes welled with tears. "I don't want to be used against you like that again." She absently reached up to touch her throat and her legs nearly gave out again.

Ryder stepped forward to steady her, keeping the hand that held his knife away so it would brush up against her. "Lucy, listen to me," he said gently. "I can't get rid of the bodies, not in this time of day. Someone will see me. I hate to tell you this, but you're going to have to just trust me. It pains me to do this, but I have to knock you out. I have to make it look like you were out before the guards showed up. It won't be a bad hit, just one that will leave evidence of an attack. When you wake up, which should be in a few moments, I want you to call the police. Tell them that I broke into your home, questioned you about one of your past patients, then knocked you out when you refused to give me what I wanted to know. Tell them that when you woke up, two guards who had thought they spotted me come in were laying dead on your floor, but I want you to set things up to make it look like you tried to save one of them. I'll ransack your office and take some random files to make it look like I didn't leave empty handed."

"Ryder..." Her voice came out in a whimper. "You don't have to knock me out." She said softly, but there was no hiding the fear in her voice. "I can ... I can oretend that you did. I can wait until you've gone before i call the police. Please, it's dangerous." Coming from a doctor's point of voew, knocking someone out was in fact very dangerous. It could heave her with a concission and ... She shuddered at the thought of being incapalble of doing her job. She reached up and squeezed the hand holding her. "And - amd what if they take me in for questioning?" Her voice rose in her panic, "Y-y-you haven't left anyone alive before-" her voice cracked and she nearly collapsed again. "What if they think you'll come back and make a trap for you? I couldn't bare it - Ryder please."
(He can still knock her out if he thinks it best. She won't be too pleased about it, however.)

Ryder released a heavy sigh. The thought of simply knocking her out disgusted him, and, to be completely honest, he didn't think he would be able to bring himself to do it. He lead her over to the table and made her sit down, seeing how unsteady she was. "No, I haven't left anyone alive before, when they were my targets. You weren't a target. You were a means to gain information about a target, and for that, I didn't feel the need to kill you," he explained a bit more gently. "I know this isn't easy for you, especially for you. I promise you, I'm trying to think of every possible way to make it seem you were forced into helping me instead of doing it voluntarily." He paused for a moment to glance at the clock on the wall. Fifteen minutes had passed by already. If the guards had informed someone of what they were doing, surely that person will be expecting them back soon. He guessed that it would be another fifteen minutes before anyone would become suspicious of why they hadn't returned. "Go upstairs to your office. I want you pull out the files for the most important patient you've every helped. I don't which one, so long as it's male," Ryder instructed her. He requested a male since none of his targets in the past had ever been female. "Throw some paper on floor, topple chairs, do whatever to make it look like I've been searching for something. I'll be up there in a minute."
