Hey y'all, Moon here (again)!
This time I am doing an interest check for what roleplay I should create. I have always wanted to see an active Halo roleplay on here, Red vs. Blue or otherwise. I know a few have shown up every once in a while, but they never last long and they tend to veer off into the abyss of inactivity.
I am very interested in keeping these roleplays as canon as possible- to make a believable story that would make sense if it were to happen in a new Halo videogame or a new season of Red vs. Blue. I am also fully capable of making my own layouts and banners, and will require no help, so this is really just an interest check. Look below to see the basic premises I have laid out for these roleplays...
Halo
We already know how the Human-Covenant war ended. We have seen how the ending played out, and read the novels detailing key events in the war. But as with everything, there will always be the untold stories in the background: stories of everyday heroism, of extraordinary sacrifice, of battles fought and men lost. The Covenant tore through everything when they came- they wiped out entire colonies, slaughtered trillions of people, all for their "holy" crusade. But humanity fought back. We bled and died for every inch of human soil, never giving up. All to buy time for the next guy down the line. This story is about those ordinary men and women, UNSC Marines, who sacrificed everything so humanity could live another day.
As you can tell, this roleplay would take place before any of the Halo games, even Reach, during the darkest days of the Human-Covenant war when it seemed inevitable humanity would lose and colonies were burning left-and-right. There would be a limited number of Spartan characters, as this roleplay is really more about the common man than the supersoldiers. Our characters would be UNSC Marines and ODSTs from a Phoenix-class vessel (like the Spirit of Fire from Halo Wars) and they would be sent around on missions across human space. This roleplay would probably feature a lot of tragedy and foxholes as our characters fight a losing battle for the fate of humanity. We can continue the roleplay all the way through the rest of Halo timeline if it takes off.
Alternatively, we can do a more Spartan-focused plot with a group of Spartan-IIIs or Spartan-IIs training and fighting together. Maybe even start this plot with the characters being abducted to become Spartans and go through their childhood and training before being shipped off to fight insurgents and, eventually, the Covenant.
Project Freelancer
Tex. Carolina. Washington. York. Wyoming. North Dakota. South Dakota. Maine. Connecticut. All legendary names, figures in a tragic story that spelled the downfall of Project Freelancer. But what about the agents in the background, the other agents-with-state-names that we never hear about? Welcome to the B-Team...
This roleplay takes place before and during the events of the Season 9 and 10 flashback scenes that detail the Freelancers as their story unfolds, but it focuses on different characters... our OCs. Each character would be a Freelancer with their own ability, and they would take on missions as vital as those undertaken by the canon characters we know and love. We can focus on how our characters react to the Project falling apart and how they cope with the morality of the Project. This one would probably be just as tragic as the Halo one above, just because we know how the Project ends: disbanded, with almost all operatives killed or missing in action. That said, Freelancers are really cool, so...
That's the basic idea for each plot. If you have suggestions or would like to comment on one of these ideas, you are welcome to post below. I am willing to modify these premises if necessary, so don't be afraid to offer constructive criticism if you don't like one of these premises. So... yeah, that's all I got.
