I felt there could of been better names for those kits that Alderpaw and Needlepaw found than Violetkit and Twigkit. Hit me with them, here are mine
Violetkit could maybe be Splashkit, or Mosskit.
Twigkit I don't really mind, but it could still be better, like maybe Tinykit (haha) or Rainkit.

Imo, I like their names.
But I think they would have been better if they were called Jumpkit and Jumpykit.

I found the reason for Twigkit's name to be amusing. Though I'm too used to them to argue anything else haha

I think they could have been better- but they're not really unusual or weird, at least, not right now. The Erins change their name styles, which names they pick, and where they get their inspiration from over time.
The name Violet is not unusual to me because it not only is the name of Barley's sister, who just recently appeared in Ravenpaw's Path, but also the name of Thunder's mate in the recent DOTC, when the authors and editors have recent memory of.
Twig originally seemed to come out of nowhere, and seemed odd- until I realized the only other cat named Twig that we know of was Skywatcher's brother, and a descendent of SkyClan. I don't think it's a coincidence that they chose a name that's probably the most SkyClan-like you could get- and in general has SkyClan written all over it.
So though I do think more ThunderClan- like names, well, more traditional TC names would have been nice too, because technically it was TC who named them- but we have to remember that the Editors, in the end, are actually the ones naming cats- and its sometime plain as day where they get their inspiration, even if they pretend TC names them normally just like anyone.

discalimer; i haven't read this far yet.
i don't like either name, to be honest. Twigkit is okay, but i'm not a fan of the prefix Violet- at all. so based off of appearances for both of them, i like Ashkit, Molekit, or Pebblekit (for Twigkit) and Swiftkit, Tinykit, or Badgerkit (for Violetkit).

Violetkit is the best name, I love her so much Twigkit would do better as Stickkit, honestly

They're definitely not the worst names in the series, but I think they still have some room for improvement. ^0^ I think Violet- is a very pretty prefix (I have a character named Violet myself), but it's more suitable for a gray, white, or light gold/cream cat, since those most reflect actual colors that the prefix's eponymous flowers come in ( pale blue or purple, white, and yellow). Given this, I'd probably name Violetkit something else – I'm rather fond of the name Laurelkit and think it has a similar "feel" to Violetkit, even though it might be more fitting for a predominantly black OR white cat than a tuxedo. Like Little- and Tiny-, the prefix Twig- is cute but runs the risk of being outgrown. What if Twigkit ends up becoming the biggest cat in the Clan when she grows up? :0 For that reason, I would have named her something like Willowkit, Mintkit, or Sagekit (to continue with the plant-related theme, haha). Alderpaw and Needlepaw's rationale for naming Violetkit and Twigkit has shown me why apprentices shouldn't be left in charge of naming kits, if nothing else. (x

I might change Violetkits name, but Twigkit's isn't the worst name. I like using a naming style, so it'd never fit within the series, but I'd probably name them after their pelt colours. Violet- is pretty, but I don't like it much as a prefix in a warrior cat name. Twig- is at least better, except i think brown more than grey for that. Ahh, I'd probably name Violetkit something like Badgerkit or Starlingkit. Twigkit? Maybe Aspenkit or Willowkit.
