Oof I haven't been on this forum in like a year, I hope I'm doing everything right Lionwood --- 36 moons Supports Russetlight/cat 3 --- rp'ed by Monkorpio Description: Lionwood is a tall, muscular golden tabby tom. While his fur is a pale gold, his stripes are a dark brown. He has almost raccoon like markings on his face. A scar runs across his snout, and his eyes are the same color blue as a winter river. He is covered in thick, soft fur, especially around his neck and the side of his face. His claws are longer than other cats, and often get caught on things. He has an intimidating stature, standing maybe a head taller than the average cat. Most cats wouldn't try to mess with him. Personality: Lionwood is the very definition of gruff. He doesn't speak often, but when he does, it's usually remarking on something stupid. He heavily disagrees with Ravensnout's point of view, believing kittypets disrupt clan life. He doesn't disguise these views, often being outwardly rude to kittypets in the clan. Lionwood is incredibly haughty, believing himself better than essentially all other cats. Lionwood's gruff exterior is partially a way to keep others from getting to close to him. Opening up or being exposed is one of his biggest fears, along with death. Lionwood's real biggest fear is being forgotten, he'll do anything not to be. Yet he often finds himself a contradiction, as although he desires to be remembered by others, he doesn't make friends to remember him. History: Lionwood had a normal kithood. His mother, Boulderdash, watched him like a hawk, to make sure he wasn't taken away by one. He was a spoiled kit, which probably translated to his fairly entitled attitude later in life. She was a senior warrior, and hadn't had kits until later in life. Although Lionkit wanted to be apprenticed under his mother (she taught him warrior skills, anyway) he was apprenticed to a gruff old tom named Graywood (hence his suffix). Although at first Lionpaw detested his mentor, he quickly adapted his gruff, no-nonsense attitude. If Lionpaw ever neglected his duties, Graywood sent him immediately to the elders. Most of his apprenticehood was shared between Boulderdash and Graywood, and the two bonded over Lionpaw before becoming mates (Lionwood's father was a rogue, unbeknownst to him). Lionpaw passed his warrior assessment with flying colors, and requested to be named after Graywood. Lionwood was always close with Graywood and Boulderdash. He was still gruff and entitled, but less so than he is now. When his mother left with the deputy on a patrol, and came back a corpse, Lionwood shut himself off from everyone else. In the first few days, he would not speak, and even now he doesn't speak unless spoken to. This event is what truly brought out his fear of death. Family* and Relationships Boulderdash (mother, deceased) Graywood (former mentor, elder) Rockpath (sister) if anyone wants to be a littermate or any other relationship just ask I guess?? Other Lionwood is probably bisexual, although he's never gotten close enough to a cat to tell Riotpaw --- 8 moons Supports Ravensnout/Cat 1--- rp'ed by Monkorpio Riotpaw is a small ginger tabby tom, although the tabby markings on mostly visible on his legs. He has large amber eyes and a square jaw. His fur is spiky, and his tail is short and spiky. Most cats would see Riotpaw and say something about how that kit will be a big cat one day, only to be reminded that Riotpaw has already been an apprentice for a couple moons. With his overly large paws and thin frame, he looks like he belongs in the nursery. Riotpaw is cheery and loud. Most cats thought that he would quiet down after the sickness, however, it only seemed to make him louder than ever. He's constantly dashing around camp, almost impossible to keep an eye on. Despite the heavy mood of the camp, Riotpaw tries to cheer everyone up. He makes jokes, even to those cats that don't want it, and scolding doesn't seem to stop him. He's a maelstrom of chaotic energy, running around camp and overall being a disaster child. He looks as if he's constantly holding his breath, waiting for whatever crude joke he made to set in. Despite his size, he tries to rough and tumble with even the biggest of the warriors. He often gets tired of cats trying to baby him for his disability. Riotpaw was born as the single kit of Cougarfang and Littlemouse. He was always with his mother, and although Cougarfang tried to be a good father, he was always more worried about the good of the clan than his son. Redkit, even at such a young age, was hopelessly energetic. He wouldn't listen to anything his parents told him, and he always argued with his elders. His mother affectionately nicknamed him 'Riotkit', and the name stuck. Littlemouse fell sick when the sickness came, and her son soon after. They would stay together, wrapped around each other and holding on for dear life. Littlemouse died while wrapped around her son. For a long time, cats thought Redkit had died, due to his inability to answer questions. However, when Littlemouse's body was taken away, Redkit was still alive. The sickness had taken most of his hearing. He can still hear particularly loud noises, and has come to recognize his name, but specific questions are almost impossible to hear, and his speech is often garbled and confused. After Redkit pulled through the sickness, he chose Riotpaw as his apprentice name, to honor his mother. The name was nontraditional, but no one could deny the grieving child. Cougarfang still tries to be there for his son, but he often thinks Riotpaw will never be a 'true' warrior due to his disability. Littlemouse (Mother/Deceased) Cougarfang (Father) Riotpaw is almost entirely deaf, but can hear loud noises and can recognize his name.

( Monkorpio Hopefully, it's okay if they are in camp. ) Rockpath slowly walked through camp with a squirrel between her jaws. Her round eyes scanned the camp for the golden form of her brother. She knew he would probably be out on one of the 'patrols' which were always coming and going, but she still really hoped this wasn't true. The last few sunrises had shaken her. First the sickness and then the dead patrol...there was too much death in the last moon. Her brother may be gruff and reserved but she needed a comforting presence of a cat she knew and could trust. Somecat she could relax around. When she finally spotted her brother near the waterfall, her whole body perked up. With her tail high in the air and a rumbling purr in her chest, she padded up to Lionwood. She dropped the squirrel between them. "The elders and queens have been fed and I was worried you wouldn't get to eat." Rockpath explained before sitting down. Normally, she would sit fur to fur with her brother, but with her mind being on edge and being unsure of how Lionwood was feeling, she decided to put a couple of mouse lengths between them. Just for now. "You can have the first bite." She said, nudging the squirrel close with a russet paw. "You've probably been out on patrols all day."

Lionwood was half asleep and had barely heard Rockpath approach. He blinked slowly at her as she gave him a squirrel, remarking about how he'd been on patrols. That wasn't true, he'd gone hunting by himself earlier. He couldn't force himself to go out on patrol, after what had come back from the last one. At least he had a sister to share the grief with. Lionwood made eye contact with Rockpath, forcing a purr deep in his throat. "No, I'm fine. You have it all, Rockpath, I'm really not hungry." It was only a half lie. Lionwood hadn't eaten, but the very thought of it made him feel sick. He looked up, towards where a patrol seemed to be forming. "We're so disorganized. Why don't we just assign a leader and a deputy and be done with it? We all already know who the best cat is."

Hello Hello! )
The she-cat frowned and looked at the squirrel. It was nice for a squirrel coming from a harsh leafbare. Not the largest but still would have some tasty parts. She even thought he liked squirrels. Still, she only nodded before dragging the squirrel closer to her and taking a large bite. Of course, this was the moment her brother decided to speak again.
Slowly chewing, she followed her brother's gaze to the small group of cats. Sure, Russetlight and his two friends were there. They were good but Russetlight didn't seem like a leader. He followed the code too much. There had to be some wiggle room. Nightwhisper was there but she would be too...old or something. Rockpath couldn't remember the last time she left camp. Honestly, Rockpath's eyes gazed over the other cats until she spotted the white-spotted black coat of Ravensnout. Immediately, the fur around her neck fluffed slightly and she quickly looked away. "She would make a fine leader." She said before taking another bite.

She? Lionwood thought, blinking in surprise. He’d always thought Russetlight would make the best leader. He was strong, determined, and stuck to the warrior code. Lionwood knew Discordheart would most likely be his deputy, but Lionwood knew that Russetlight would be best for the camp.
“Ravensnout, you mean?” Lionwood replied, looking at the she-cat. She was a fine warrior, but Lionwood feared that clan structure would fall apart under her. He didn’t want Needleclan becoming a band of rogues. He looked at Rockpath, seeing his sisters fluffed fur, and his purr became more genuine. “Are you sure you aren’t letting your personal feelings impact your decision?”

All of her russet fur fluffed at once. "No!" Rockpath quickly denied. She took a quick glance at the group to made sure no cat had caught her traitorous brother's words. Thankfully, they all seemed to be caught up in their conversations. She looked back at her brother, with her fluffed tail padding the ground. "No, Ravensnout is loyal and smart and passionate. She'll help bring this clan back to what it was before the...sickness and everything else, no matter how long it will take. We can't expect the elders, queens, and apprentices to be fed unless we have more help."
"I don't understand how expanding the clan land will help," Rockpath mumbled under her breath. She knew it was likely Lionwood supported Russetlight and couldn't understand him. "We can't cover the land without extra cats or running ourselves to the bone."

Lionwood crossed his paws, shifting to get a better look at the group of potential leaders. Lionwood and Rockpath had had mini squabbles like this before, since their preferred choices in leader held such differing views. "Expanding the land will make Needleclan seem stronger than it currently is. Only those who really want to join will come to us. Ravensnout keeps bringing in kittypets and half-starved rogues - cats that have no idea how to hunt or fight. Really, they're the extra mouths to feed." Lionwood let out a breath through his nose, knowing his sister would disagree with him. "I really just can't see Ravensnout as a leader. She has no rules."

Rockpath snorted. She knew this would lead to a big silly fight she would regret, but her body was tensing at every word and her mind already coming up with retorts. There was no stopping the words which came out her mouth next. "So those who come to us are better than those we find? They still joined this clan. They have as much right to be here as you and me." She stood up, forgetting her half-eaten squirrel. Her tail snapped back and forth. "She still follows the warrior code just like Russetlight. She just doesn't follow it so blindly. She'll improve the clan without spreading us so thin we can't defend the borders we make." She hated this. Choosing between her brother and who she thought would be the right leader, but she really didn't want Russetlight to lead. The tom's methods were strange and they didn't make any sense.

Lionwood huffed and looked away, forcing to keep his claws sheathed. He hated arguing with his sister - if anything, the sickness and death should've brought them closer. Instead it tore them apart. Lionwood got to his feet, standing above his sister. "Sure, she follows the code, but what about those kittypets she brings in? Do you think they care about our elders, our kits? No. They eat our food and do nothing for us. They have no code, and Ravensnout does nothing to teach them," Lionwood hissed the words out from between his teeth, his tail lashing from side to to side. The group of cats could probably see he and Rockpath's argument, but at the moment he didn't care.

Rockpath refused to shrink under Lionwood's towering form. Instead, her fur bristled more and she had to resist baring her fangs. "They can be taught and trained. You just need to give them some more time. Warriors aren't made over night." Her tail lashed. She couldn't believe her brother thought about kittypets and Ravensnout's work this way. She was doing all she could and so much more than Russetlight. For StarClan's sake, the only thing the tom did was preach about upholding the warrior code and clan honor. Honestly, she thought her brother had more brains than this. "It's better than expanding without stop. Who's gonna patrol all that land? That's right, those kittypets you don't hate so much." Her words were razor sharp, aimed to sting. She had gotten caught up in trying to defend Ravensnout and her ideals.

Lionwood took a step towards his sister, lowering his head so they were practically nose-to-nose. "That time that you want to give them is time that our warriors are starving. Are kits our are future and our elders are our past. Have you not heard the pitiful mewling from either of those dens? They suffer while your kittypet friends sleep and get fat on Twoleg food." The fur around Lionwood's neck stood on edge, and his muscles tensed, as if bracing for a physical fight. "Rockpath, we need warriors. Cats that know how to hunt and fight for themselves. I don't have the time to nurse warriors."
