Chapter 1
Running through the dense forest, lungs burning, heart pounding. Running from what? Nobody knows yet, but You will soon.
Curled up in an old abandoned house filled with creaky floors, dust, and broken windows, glass shattered every where. Only one path that has been used, all clean and filled with paw prints, and surrounding that house? A beautiful lushes green forest filled with prey, and predators. Everything a cat could wish for. Except for one flaw.
“Having the same dream again Brooke?” Asks a huge brown old tom with amber eyes, long wretched whiskers, and a fluffy tail that is used for keeping warm.
She sighs and blinks her sleep away, the adrenaline still running through her body, like a snake’s venom.”Yes timber.” Replies a young, pretty silver tabby with brilliant green eyes.” Though it seemed more vivid and real.” She added with a nod. She got up and stretched until her legs quivered.
“Like I said before, it’ll go away sooner or later.” Said the old brown cat.” Wanna get me a mouse?” He asked and tried to make his old eyes look like a kitten’s
“Of course.” She said with a purr.” See you soon.” She said and padded along the used path in the house, jumping out one of the windows.
“Get me a juicy one.” Rasped the old Tom as he curled up in his nest and prepared to go to sleep again until she came back.
Landing gracefully she padded out in the forest, still remembering her dream well. Brushing the thought off, she Scented the air for any prey. Once she found a trail she followed it. She spotted the little brown mouse, eating something, unaware of it about to be food. She focused and lunged at the mouse, sinking her teeth into it’s flesh, killing swiftly she drew some dirt over it so she could get it later. Looking up at the sun beams shining down through the tree’s.
Her fur suddenly stood up, wary she glanced around. Feeling like she’s being watched. Looking for pairs of eyes, nothing. Just a forest. Forcing her fur to lie flat she walks towards her last catch.
” Got your mouse.” She calls before entering her house and smiling at timber kindly.
” Took you long enough.” He said with a cheeky raspy tone.” Thank you Brooke.” He added and purred gratefully.” You know, if my senses were sharper i’d Be hunting for you.” He said as he bit into the mouse.
”Your Welcome.” She purred and licked her paws.” I know, you were the best hunter ever!” She said, she had heard many of his stories of him hunting for his whole family.
timber smiled and continued to eat his mouse.
Brooke, sitting in her nest. She was thinking about her dream.’ Just running, and running.’ She thought, but the actual burning question,’ from what?’. She tried to think back into her dream, for any sign, for at least a clue. This dream has been tormenting her for the past month, and still nothing, only that it gets more real every single day. like a thorn in her paw pad.
She had fallen asleep

Chapter 2
Once again she was running through the forest. Running as if her life was in danger. Maybe because it was. Paws thrumming on the ground. Though it looked like a beautiful forest, she was running from something, dreadful, horrible, something some cats would say inescapable. Fear filled her veins. Adrenaline filled her bones. Sadness filled her head. Claw’s snagged, her body bruised and broken, though she ran, and ran. Darkness coursing through her whole entire body, a dark shadow is what she could see from the corner of her eyes. Her silver pelt all ragged, her green eyes dull.” Brook!” Said a voice, very faint.” Brooke!” It came louder this time.
She awoke to timber prodding her and calling her name.” Brooke!” He said more urgently. “What?” She murmured and noticed her friends worried and urgent look and she got up quickly.” What?” She repeated, more clearly this time. “You were yowling and twitching in your sleep.” He said, his voice more relieved. “Sorry.” She said guiltily and brushed her tail against him as a sorry. “No worries, just please...” he said with a smile.” Be more quiet!” He snapped playfully and walked away. She chuckled, the dream still fresh in her mind. Timber went back to his nest and chewed on another bone.
Trying to shake the feeling off, she decided to go for a walk. Dragging her tail on the ground, her whole body felt drained after she woke up. Sitting on the ground, listening to the birds chirping, the distant river flow. Getting thirst she started to walk towards the river. The roar getting louder she decided to go to a much calmer spot.
She looked at her reflection and thought for a moment. Starting to drink the water, at first it was okay, but it started to taste weird. Tangy. Like blood. She looked up stream. Dreading what she saw, and soaking wet, dead rabbit, just floating in the river. She backed up horrified, she ran towards her house, her heart pounding, her pelt filled with fear, it was happening! She ran full pelt. Horrified to the bone, she looked back and saw a dark figure. She ran and ran until she saw her house, her lungs were burning and she still had tasted that bad blood from the river. Jumping through her entrance.
she had escaped.

Chapter 3 Timber was still. Her best friend, her father like figure wasnt moving.” Timber?” Brooke whispered. No reply.” Timber?” She repeated and stepped closer. She touched her nose to his fur. Ice cold. she hadn’t known she’d be gone for a long time. She dropped, sadness. She let one dream ruin her life, he was gone, Timber was gone. Yes she felt she’d only been gone for minutes, but as she looked at the sky it was evening, and she left at noon. She knew the cat’s time was soon, but not today! Going to the old cats nest she scented him, his scent different. Gone. Her heart broken in two she laid down in his nest. Scenting timber’s stale scent she cried. She’d grieved deeply for timber. Setting his body beside her as she sat vigil.
Around midnight, “Brooke.” A whisper came through the still air in her lonely house.” Brooke.” It whispered once more.” Do not grieve, for you will see me again.” It whispered as Timber’s scent drifted around her.” I am not gone forever, you will meet me when your time comes.” He said, the old cat appearing.” Your time is not now, you mustn’t give up now.” Said the Tom, now looking much more younger and healthier.” But I have nothing left.” She said a tear rolling down her cheek.” You give up now, you’d be giving up on me.” The old cat urged and turned away, his now young pelt fading.” Don’t leave!” She pleaded and looked at his body. He was right, she still had a mission, a mission she didn’t know about.
Early morning she had gone to bury her friend, in a special place. Tears rolling down her face.” Goodbye for now my friend.” She said and looked at her paws sadly.
after a few days of thinking and moping around she was thinking of timber, the dead rabbit. And she knew that the forest was going to keep on getting worse, her dream was already almost as worse as it gets, whatever it was that was following her she couldn’t stand it. Couldn’t face it. She had to leave, somewhere that was even safer than this, what seemed to be perfect home.
She had thought for a long time about this, she couldn’t live in this place any longer. Hunting for one last time, sleeping in her familiar nest for one last time, watching the sunset on the window sill for one last time. she was going to leave in the morning.
Crashing through the forest her heart pounding. She was in the same dream. Running through the forest a dark shadow almost catching up to her, feeling it’s hot breath on her heels. Everything stops! The sounds of the creature gone still, everything is there but it is unmoving. “ My dearest Brooke, do not be afraid. For many others have faced this, you will overcome it.” He said and faded away. brooke woke up and looked around. Normal. It was dawn, only a small beam of light came through. She realized that she should be going now. Sighing and giving one last look around the old abandoned house. She set off, jumping out the window, taking different paths than usual, only because it was her time to leave.
Glancing around, she stepped out onto new territory, every paw step feeling a new sense of hope in her paws. Hope for what? Hope for peace? Possibly.

After multiple days of walking, her pelt was ragged and she had to run from many dogs. She hadn’t eaten in what felt like years, but only two days. There was no prey, only rats, and she could tell all of them were infested with diseases. Her stomach growling with desperate hunger, she was in a feud, between stopping to rest, and continue walking in search of food.
“Oh timber help me.” She sighed as she sat down on dirt and rocks.
