Houndpaw is made a warrior. Meanwhile, the Clan is getting suspicious about the disappearance of Simon, Scattered Leaves and Minnow. Minnow returns, and announces that the two were killed in a battle between some rogues. The Clan is horrified, and all think that Simon and Scattered Leaves are dead. However, Snowstar does not name a new deputy, and thinks Minnow is up to something. Honeyshine agreed with Snowstar. Simon and Scattered Leaves awaken to be trapped in a Twolegs place, after being knocked unconscious by rogues. “Max?” Simon asks to a tom as he is pinned down by a brown tabby. Simon recognises his father almost instantly. He asks why Minnowsong is doing all of this. He says that “it wasn’t because of that she was left for dead with greencough, but more the fact she felt abandoned and jealous of her siblings. So to get attention, she does this.” Max comes with Simon and Scattered Leaves to help them expose Minnowsong. On the journey, meanwhile, Scattered leaves becomes closer with him. Snowstar refuses to assign a new deputy, unable to convince herself that Simon is dead. Shortly after Simon begins to be presumed dead, a wave of greencough hits the Clan, killing many cats. Snowstar begins to despair, wondering if the beautiful Clan she built will ever be repaired. Honeyshine develops asthma after surviving the wave.

(Can we at least have some sort of boundary for less than ten cats killed per post?) There is shocked gasps as Simon and Scattered Leaves return to the Clan. Snowstar thanks StarClan that her deputy was not dead,. The Clan is quick to realise that Scattered Leaves and Simon are looking angrily towards Minnow. ”This cat, many some of you may know her well. She was once a Clan cat in this very Clan.” Minnow looks distraught as the cats begin to crowd around her, eyes narrowed. “I can confirm that she is the one who has been making our Clan anxious these past few moons. She is the one who started the drama of the border skirmishes. She is medicine cat Minnowsong, and she captured me and Scattered Leaves in order to get noticed. She attempted to murder us.” Simon gazed onto the crowd, and to his horror the Clan begin shaking their heads. ”If you want proof. Then how come I got this?” Scattered Leaves reveals a deep mark on her neck, similar to Minnow’s. Snowstar is quick to exile Minnow, however they doubt it’ll be her last appearances. Stormkit has a sort of prophecy he recieves. He decides to ask Finchwing about it. Finchwing is afraid of what the prophecy means. Stormkit could barely remember his mother who'd passed away but perfectly described a cat he never met. Juniperwish a she-cat who'd been killed by an all black cat. Finchwing immediately asks Snowstar for him, once he's old enough, to become his apprentice. Honeyshine stepps down to become an elder stating that,"Finchwing is a more capable medicine cat than I am." Copperpelt is taken aback at Gladeshadow being Branch’s mate, and Gladeshadow notices the resemblance of Gingerkit to Branch. The she cat glares at Copperpelt, accusing her of stealing Branch from her. Copperpelt says she knows the pain that she feels about losing her son, and tells Gladeshadow that her and Bramch has four kits, but only Gingerkit survived. Finchlight returns from RoseClan with some more herbs. One is a new herb. It's a small plant that Finchlight dubs as lemon grass. It allows disgusting tasting herbs to be eaten easier. It turns out that the kits are actually Lichenglow’s. Harrylesp is distraught, but wonders why she said the kits were his and not Lichenglow’s. She says it’s because Lichenglow doesn’t feel ready for kits. Briarflower gives birth to her kits.
