Name: Ko Jungmin FC: Yang Hongseok (Pentagon) Nickname(s): Jungie, Min, Minnie, Jungminie Gender: Male Pronouns: He, Him, His Age: 17
High School: Seoul School of Performing Arts Year: Senior
Hair: Currently black though his natural hair is dark brown Eyes: Dark brown Height: 178 cm ( 5 ft 10 )
Nationality: South Korean Residence: Seoul, SK Hometown: Gwangju, SK
- Ko Jungmin grew up in a household constantly submerged in music--his parents always had some tune or another playing in their home. His father loved to coax his son into singing with him when Jungmin was younger and more shy about his vocals, but as the boy grew older and became more confident, his voice could be heard humming throughout their home without fail. It was his singing ability that allowed Jungmin to attend the Seoul School of Performing Arts, but he has always had a great interest in modern/contemporary dancing. He isn't the best yet, but he is constantly practicing to improve himself in his dancing skills.

aha thank you c: and idk I just thought it would be interesting since they'll be rivals for a bit and jungmin would probably be a bit of a brat and neglect to call daeho 'hyung' on purpose or something x3

TBH now I need that dynamic LOL My next question isss...How should we start? I assume they would already be kind of familiar with one another?? Ohhhh what if we start them in like vocal class or something and they're paired up to write lyrics to a song but they like can barely agree on anything LOL

lol okay awesome, i'll just drop his age a year to 17 yeah I agree, I was thinking it'd probably work best if they already knew of each other and had previously established they weren't exactly fans of one another, just so we could sort of jump right in and YESS that sounds like a great place to start c: did you want to start or shall I?

Why was the world out to get him? Did he have bad karma or something? Was he cursed? Did he cross paths with a witch and end up on her bad side? Because it seemed like every turn he took...he saw this kid. Well...they were all kids...and he was only one year younger than him but Dae looked at him like he were his worst enemy. Okay, actually, that was an exaggeration. He didn't hate the guy but...sometimes he was annoyed with him. Like right now.
Pretty much everyone in this school knew who Park Daeho and Ko Jungmin were. They knew that Daeho was the dancer and Jungmin was the singer. They knew that Daeho was the hyung and Jungmin was a , perhaps, not so mannerly dongsaeng. But mostly...they knew they were rivals. They were some of the top students of the school and about the only thing that stood in their way...were one another. So, maybe Dae's ire was warranted.
They had this vocal class together and actually, they had tons of classes together, considering their elite grouping. Without fail, it seemed Daeho was forced to work with Jungmin. The teacher had paired them together, tasking them with coming up for lyrics to this song. Whichever group had the best lyrical arrangement would get to perform it as guests on a popular music show. Daeho needed that exposure...even if it meant working with this guy. They had been given this class to work on it and so far...All they'd done was stare at one another.
"I'll say this...I think writing a love song would be super, super boring." Daeho hated love songs. It felt like these days, songs were always written about relationships, "We should make it a hype song. " The music, however, was not hype music...it would probably have better suited a sweet, innocent love song.

agh i'm excited for this <33//
Ko Jungmin could not believe his luck. He just wanted one dayโone dayโthat he could make it through, look back and say โHey, nothing irritated me today!โ It was too much to ask for from the universe, apparently. The morning had started out promising enoughโhe woke up promptly with his alarm, was earlier enough to the cafรฉ to snag a coveted honey pastry, and his dance instructor in his first class had even said Jungmin was showing improvement. All signs that pointed to this being the day of reprieve that Jungmin had been hoping for. See, the thing was, Jungmin wanted desperately for this opportunity to work out for him. It was such a roll-of-the-dice chance that he got admitted to the Seoul School of Performing Artsโand sure, maybe he was what others would call a โgoodโ singerโbut it wasnโt good enough. To make it in this industry, being decent in one category wasnโt going to get Jungmin anywhere. He needed to excel at everything, to be the one that stood out and was the bestโthe ace of the school.
Park Daeho was his biggest obstacle. It frustrated Jungmin that the guy just seemed to be fantastic at everything. Even those areas that he was improving upon were progressing at a faster rateโto Jungminโthan Jungminโs own practice at being better. Perhaps what irked Jungmin the most out of everything, though, was the fact that Daeho excelled in the greatest bane of Jungminโs existenceโdancing. It just seemed unfair how the guy could twist and move at lightning speed without breaking an ankle or a sweat, while it was all Jungmin could do to simply keep up and hope he at least kept time with the rest of his classmates well enough that no one noticed if he had less โpassionโ behind his moves.
Daeho was his biggest competition, and from the moment this had been established, Jungmin decided he couldnโt stand him. So of course today wasnโt going to be the day of peace Jungmin had been yearning forโof course he would be assigned to write song lyrics with Daeho. Jungmin was almost tempted to veto everything that came out of Daehoโs mouth, just out of spite, but bit his tongue. It would reflect better on the both of them if they were able to cooperate and come up with something good.
Still, Jungmin wasnโt going to agree with any dumb ideas. He wrinkled his nose at Daehoโs suggestion. โDid you even read the sheet music or listen to the sample?โ Jungmin gestured to the paper set out before them, tapping the end of his pencil against his desk. โThe composition isnโt fit for a hype songโit should be a ballad.โ

This guy....Dae had been teetering on the back two legs of his chair but all four hit the floor with a very poignant thud. That was literally the sound of his nerves snapping. He leaned in, elbows on his knees, eyes narrowed. ....Truth be told...No, he hadn't read the sheet music. Like, that kind of thing wasn't really his forte. He wasn't necessarily a slacker but there were just some things he didn't want to do. With anyone else, he would've caught up right there in class but he refused to lose face. Not in front of...Jungmin. Ugh, even the name kind of irked him. Because all day he'd hear people mentioning it. Mostly girls because they thought he was absolutely adorable. He was the prince of the school. Good at pretty much everything but yet humble and nice...enough. For whatever reason, he thought back to when they had first met at the beginning of the year. It was like fate their paths had crossed. Jungmin had been standing right there next to him when they looked at their first exam scores...and over all...Jungmin had come out at the top of the school. Maybe that was why he seemed to always forget he was talking to a hyung.
"Aren't you forgetting something, Junminie?" Emphasis on the suffix because Dae was allowed to talk to him like that, " You're talking to hyung, remember?"
The funniest part of the situation was that the tension was so evident, everyone else could feel it too. Dae's friends, who liked to tease him about being so threatened by a junior, were peeking over, laughing among themselves at how mad the blonde was getting. Neither of them were fighters but, if looks could kill, Dae's glare was a knockout punch.
"And of course I read the sheet music..." That was a lie...a blatant lie, "I just think it'd be better if we fit a rap verse in there...and how can I rap about...feelings?" This was definitely a cover because, frankly, Dae wasn't as strong a vocalist as Jungmin was. That just wasn't what he did. He rapped but mostly he dished out powerful dance moves.

Jungmin felt satisfaction tickle its way up his spine at Daeho's obvious irritation. The older male could act as offended as he wanted, but Jungmin wasnโt going to budge. It had been a foreign concept at first before Daeho and he had begun interactingโneglecting to call another hyung. Jungmin had grown up as โthe good kidโโhe got good grades, he was talented, and he was damn polite. His parents took pride in the fact that Jungmin never seemed to have real issues with anybody. Then Park Daeho came around. Jungmin couldnโt pinpoint exactly why, or when it even started, but all he knew was that, now, it was a common occurrence for Jungmin to subtly disrespect Daeho by not addressing him with the proper honorific. It drove the older mad, and it was an appropriate responseโit really wasnโt proper to address a senior in such an informal manner. The best way to get away with doing so would be if the two were close friends or even dating, but they were neither.
It shouldnโt have mattered that the two were rivalsโDaeho was his hyung. Jungmin knew that, but Daeho irked him and it gave Jungmin a bit of joy to frustrate the blonde. He knew he was being a brat, but then again, he was the dongsaeng.
At hearing the emphasis on his nickname, Jungminโs head snapped up to stare with narrowed eyes at Daeho. He knew he was being a hypocrite, but hearing the other male address him in such a sarcastic manner really got under his skin. He forced his lips to lift in a strained smileโall the while, his eyes remained dark and intense as he scowled at Daeho.
โHow could I forgot? Youโre practically prehistoric, Hyungie.โ
His lips split into a smirk after the words left his mouth.
A voice hissed, โJungmin!โ over near his right, and he dropped the smirk. His gaze trailed over to where his best friend satโa girl in his year by the name of Lee Eunseo. She had a disapproving look on her face, obviously having overheard what Jungmin said, and Jungmin felt his ears heat up just the slightest bit at her scolding.
He turned his attention back to Daeho, gaze avoidant as he stared intently at their papers spread out before them. At the olderโs remark about not being able to rap about feelings, Jungmin couldnโt help but retort, โNot all rappers are as emotionally inept as you.โ
Jungmin winced. Damnit. They werenโt going to get anywhere on this assignment by bickering. He sighed and lifted his eyes to meet Daehoโs, resigned. โLook, Iโm not opposed to a rap verse, alright? I just think we need to go slower with the melody andโcontrary to what you seem to thinkโyou can rap without spitting a thousand words per second.โ Jungmin frowned. โAnd why wouldnโt you be able to rap about feelings? Youโre a rapper, canโt you just rap about anything?โ Jungmin had heard the collective opinion from others regarding Daeho, sounding something like he's so handsome and he could dance for me any day. So Jungmin didn't really understand how Daeho thought it would be impossible to rap about feelingsโthe blonde had no shortage of admirers.
