Sleekwhisker in the books is just kind of another generic henchman, not particularly different in intelligence, cruelty, charisma, or ambition to any of the other Kin, background character Dark Forest cats, or Darkstripe. Yet compared to all of them, she has a lot more people who like her. Is there any real reason why?

She's simply one of those characters that I love to hate. Plus, I like her name and design.

Honestly, that's pretty much how I feel about Sleekwhisker :'P Sure, she isn't very fancy, but a lot of villains in Warriors aren't. There are certainly others with more depth than her, but after rereading AVOS, I've decided I like her as a villain, even if her reasons for being so are murky. I just find her interesting.

Probably a combo of her being female and her atheism.

Last villain standing and people not wanting some brand new villain to suddenly pop up. I don't count Sol or Mapleshade because I consider their development finished while nobody knows what's next for Sleekwhisker. Ashfur seems to have wrapped up as well.

probably her gender, and I hear she is comically over the top like a disney villain. The only regard in which the over the top stuff happens is when she blames Rowanstar for all of her self inflicted troubles but that's only a couple of lines and definitely not the majority of her character. Even then, she's less main Disney villain, more...the bat from The Great Mouse Detective is a good comparison.

Lack of female villains and people not wanting some brand new villain at all. That's my two cents.

Her name, gender, and I imagine the MAPs about her on YouTube. Those get a lot of views, and can really help bump up a character's popularity, I think, especially if they give more of a personality to a character that doesn't have as much of one in the books.
"Take A Hint" [Complete Sleewhisker MAP] came out 3 months ago and currently has 1.6 million views!

Then again, popularity of the uploader can make up for it.

Personally, I don't like her, but I guess it's cause she's a more in plot female villain that's alive probably?

people were convinced she'd show up again and be the next Big Bad after Darktail died. too bad they threw that opportunity out the window
