An interesting concept, but what if biologists in the Warriors universe were observing Warrior cats all this time throughout many generations? They notice a rather sophisticated population of cats separating them into different groups. They pretend just to be ordinary Twolegs, but they're jotting down interesting facts.
They even trace the cats to the lake and write something about how destruction of one environment caused the groups to unite in order to survive. They notice the battles, the way they run their societies, and even some weird rituals like some cats pressing their nose on a huge stone in a cave. They pay special attention to some of the more prominent cats, but every one has a name. And then one day they see dead cats come back to life in the Dark Forest and fight living cats with no scientific explanation.

Plot twist: the Erins are just scientists writing their observations and they got so bored in OoTS that they had hallucinations of Dark Forest cats

Ever watch Meerkat Manor? God, that seriously used to be one of the top five tv shows from my childhood that I was obsessed with. I have such clear memories of fighting with my two siblings for the tv, because I wanted to watch new episodes or reruns. I was even on a meerkat rp proboards. The cameras really picked up fascinating activity. I think that's partially what drove me to have such an intense interest in Warriors, because of how structured the Whiskers family was, and the sort of "plot lines" and "story arcs" they were given, so it wasn't far off from Warriors -- just a real life version. I remember there was the shenanigans with Mozart and the kits, the rival colonies attacking to try to take over Whiskers territory (or the Whiskers attacking them), and that one rival meerkat who somehow kept getting Flower's daughters pregnant lolol I damn near had a heart attack when we had that cliffhanger about Shakespeare dying from that snake bite, but somehow surviving, then he just disappeared after that rival attack and he defended Flower's kits. The series was truly amazing to me. Like the Whiskers literally attacked other colonies to get their kits back, and adopted outside kits, even though it was somewhat unusual for normal meerkat behavior. They'd also banish other meerkats, and sometimes allow them to return after some time, or chase them off permanently, like exile in Warriors. Now I wanna download all the episodes now and watch them...I can't believe I remember so many names. I can totally see something similar with Warriors.

If this were the case, then it'd be turned into a very popular nature documentary and be narrated by David Attenborough.

Ever watch Meerkat Manor? I loved that show and still do. Flower's death still haunts me to this day, and I occasionally still keep up with what happened to the meerkats after the show ended.

Ever watch Meerkat Manor? Wish I had now, sounds like a great show. If I had, I would’ve been to young to remember anyway.

David Attenborough would have narrated this if it were a Life documentary. "As you can see, these cats fight for survival. They all seem to have an occupation in the group, and all have something to do. They are all a team, and unite in order to win the wars over territory with four other groups. There are some rituals that scientists still can't explain, but still very fascinating, however. One of these unknown ways is the same pairs of cats, at first quarter and last quarter, go to a mysterious cave at night, and sleep next a giant piece of quartz with their noses pressed against it. Scientists suggest that this might be the connection between them and their long gone ancestors."
