Language of study: German Approx. time of study: 3 years Level*: Don't know? By now I'm at level two—but that's level two in a college class which is approximately... what, level four in a high school setting? (Or is it that four years of German in high school is equivalent to one year of a first-level college German class?) Any particular methods of learning you find helpful?: Listening to music, watching lyric videos (and trying to translate them on your own), vocabulary lists/flash cards, practicing speaking. Any songs in the language you like (please attach a link, do not attach actual video)?: Cro - Traum, Rammstein - Du Riechst So Gut, Bakkushan - Baby, Du siehst gut aus!, Nina Hagen - Du hast den Farbfilm vergessen (That last one cracks me up for some reason. Michael, you had ONE job!) Other: Went over to Germany two years ago during the World Cup as part of an exchange program with my school and a high school in Weinstadt. So yes, I was there during the Brazil v. Germany match—kind of hard to sleep when my host dad kept firing off a shot every time Germany scored.
