roleplay info - this is a claim-a-cat roleplay! this means that rather than creating a full character yourself, you choose cats from the allegiances that you would like to roleplay. while each cat's appearance and main personality trains are outlined, you are encouraged to expand on and interpret this information as you wish - for instance, a cat's competitiveness may also make them power-hungry, or boastful, or rash. it's up to you how you let the main characteristics define their overall personality
- this is an advanced/literate roleplay - therefore, at a minimum posts should be a solid paragraph or two long. you are fully encouraged to write as much as you wish on top of this! posts should of course also have overall sound writing with good grammar and spelling (don't worry though - little errors happen to all of us)
- you may claim up to three cats. there may also be opportunities to claim further characters in the future, for instance when kits are born, or we agree to add additional characters to the roleplay
- while some characters will have a more specific role in the main plot, all characters will be involved, and members are welcome to - within reason - add their own sideplots and dramas

rules - all forum rules apply
- be appropriate - stick to the warrior curses when in roleplay, "fade to black" for mating, and no gory details for battle or wounds. lgbtq+ characters are welcome. romantic relationships between characters must be agreed upon by all players of the cats involved - only friendships/crushes can be one-sided
- no kit-stealers please!
- please be active, most especially if you play a high-ranking cat. if you are inactive without notification for two weeks, your characters will be replaced by new ones and those slots will be open for claim again. I know people lead busy lives, but being able to roleplay at least a couple of times a week would be great, and the more the better! don't always wait for other people to be online to post either - roleplay doesn't always have to happen when everybody is on at once
- do not power-play, god-mod, or spotlight. be fair in fights, and only the roleplayer of a cat can decide if and how it is injured or killed. cats should be realistic within the warriors world with no special powers, wings, unnatural markings etc. no mary-sue / gary-stus, please
- I encourage adding sideplots and drama, but please discuss new major plots/developments first, particularly if they affect other players' characters
- any change in the allegiances (apprentices becoming warriors, warriors leaving the clan etc) must be mentioned beforehand - you are very welcome to ask if/when you would like these to happen. do not add new characters without prior permission. high-rank position changes, such as a new deputy, will be discussed with members first
- the player of a queen decides how many kits their queen has, and their names and appearances. they may only claim one kit for themselves - others will be open to others for claiming. claimants choose the personality of kits. players of apprentices can choose their warrior names if they wish

plot while hunting, Brightpaw and Maplepaw find Breezestar in the tall meadow [roleplay starts here!], wounded and having lost her eighth life. deputy Ravenstrike finds the perfect criminal - or the perfect scapegoat - in half-rogue-blooded Deerstep, whom he sends into exile
the leader frail, Ravenstrike's power within the clan only grows and grows. some applaud his efficiency and confidence. others are concerned he's starting to step on toes - after all, he isn't their leader yet
Redfeather's concerns are far greater. when he overhears a conversation between Ravenstrike and Snowbird, he starts to question just how genuine the deputy is - and fears for the leader's life. it's time to piece together the pieces, perhaps with a helping paw from his friends
meanwhile, Deerstep - hurt and angered by his exile - swears he won't allow his soon-to-be-born kits to live in the clan that turned him out
Breezestar knows her remaining time is limited, and she wishes to seek guidance from StarClan at the whispering falls one last time - but, whatever his reason, Ravenstrike is doing all he can to prevent it. sometimes StarClan can't wait though, and the medicine cats begin to receive strange and worrying dreams
threats from the inside and outside are closing, and there are vital decisions to be made; the future of this once close-knit, united clan hangs in the balance

territory true to the name, pineclan's territory mainly consists of pine forest. for those unfamiliar to the area, it's not hard to get turned around when surrounded by the tall, obscuring trees. pineclan cats, however, know this place like the back of their paws, and their territory includes a number of landmarks and important places
the river & stepping stones
within listening distance of the camp, the river is the main water source for the clan. when water levels are low, most cats can jump over it. usually, cats use the stepping stones - four flat stones emerging from the water. during heavy rains, the water rises, submerging the stones and making the river fast-moving and difficult to cross
tangled-trees
a pair of old trees with thick trunks and branches in a small clearing in the forest, ideal for climbing. while they don't tower above the surrounding pine trees, cats can get a pretty good view from up here, and apprentices always learn and practice climbing here. situated south-west from the camp
the twoleg stone-nest
an old stone twoleg hut, crumbling and in ruins. while still regarded with mistrust by some cats, many useful herbs can be found here
the tall meadow
a wide, open meadow in the eastern-most reaches of the territory. in summer, the grass grows very tall. mice and voles are plentiful here, however adders also prey for these creatures here. while the high grass usually keeps away the twolegs, dogs from the twolegplace or the more curious twolegs themselves are a risk
little twolegplace
separated from the forest by the tall meadow, the little twolegplace is relatively peaceful. many dogs and kittypets reside here with their twolegs
whispering falls
far south-west from pineclan's territory, whispering falls is where clan cats communicate with starclan. some swear the voices of fallen warriors can be heard within the rush of the waterfall, which falls into a round pool, off which many streams run. the water is unusually warm, as are the smooth stones around it. laying on these stones by the pool, cats sleep and speak with starclan. getting to the falls requires a careful climb down a steep cliff, leading to a tunnel which soon opens up into a cavern, the whispering falls crashing down from the high ceiling
camp a sudden dip in the landscape forms the camp. at the entrance, the land slopes down towards a protective barrier of bramble bushes, through which the cats enter by a small tunnel
at the other side of the dip, a small rocky face juts upwards. the top of the rocky face, known as the Highledge, is where leaders head clan meetings. halfway up the rock face, a cavern hides the leader's den, the entrance curtained by hanging moss. the Highledge and leader's den are accessed by small ledges leading along the cliff
at the bottom of the little cliff, and offset to the left, is the medicine cat den. deeper than the leader's den, and thus able to shelter more bodies when needed, it has a slightly damp, cool floor, and rocky ledges inside help store the herbs
the warriors' and apprentices' dens are adjacent to each other, under large bramble bushes. elders and senior warriors sleep in the centre of the warriors' den nests, where it is warmest
the nursery lies under the protective barrier of brambles around the camp, in a tunnel in the roots of an old tree stump now sat within the brambles. although the closest to the camp entrance, it is the best hidden den in the camp
prey is placed within a small dug hole in the centre of the camp, with a clump of ferns overhanging it, intended to hide prey from overhead birds

joining info all you have to do is let me know which characters you would like to claim! also include any starting crushes or relationships not yet specified that you would like to include. of course, many relationships will develop during the roleplay so this isn't super important at the beginning
you may claim up to four cats. you do not have to claim equal male/female characters or anything like that, however, try to avoid claiming cats who are already mates or best friends. two siblings is fine, though!
I'm pretty open to small character changes if you wish to alter something too
if claiming an outsider cat, you create your own character. please provide all the brief info the other cats have. no need for detailed descriptions/personalities/histories, but feel free to include any information you feel is particularly important
before claiming, please:
- check you have read all the roleplay info, rules, and plot
- keep in mind the post length for this roleplay - I want you to enjoy roleplaying here, not feel that it is a chore c:
- check the characters indicate 'open' in the allegiances
- do a quick search for each name in the topic - this will help you check what current relationships they have and where they generally fit into the plot!
