Sol is not included here because he's kind of a cop out answer, being completely untrained and having no talent. Yes, Onestar counts for the stunts he pulled in Power of Three. Anyway, out of these main baddies, which of them is the worst fighter?
EDIT: Derp, I forgot Hawkfrost in the poll. Oh well, I doubt he'd have been chosen anyway.

I voted Thistleclaw who gets destroyed by Ivypool even while teaming up with Snowtuft. Ivypool loses to a dying Hawkfrost... Really turned weak towards the end.
Onestar went even with Darktail which is impressive and while Darktail does not have that many notable feats, I think he's still a lot stronger than Ivypool.
Although no definite proof, I can't see Brokenstar as the weakest of these cats. The Dark Forest prides itself on fighting and no matter how good of a leader Brokenstar was to them, if he was the weakest of major villains I doubt he could've held onto them that strongly where everybody feared him. The scene and way he straight up murders Beetlewhisker shows his power.
Mapleshade was implied to be much stronger than Sandstorm who I believe is quite strong and would've killed Sandstorm without Spottedleaf.
My order goes Scourge>Tigerstar>Hawkfrost>Darktail>Onestar>Brokenstar>Mapleshade>Thistleclaw

Brokenstar didn't Firepaw and Yellowfang best him? I mean Yellowfang was destroying him until she found out he killed Raggedstar.

I was hoping Sol would be on here, but like he's the obvious answer. i picked Scourge because i don't think he's actually that skilled or naturally strong

Nevermind what he does when he has them on. He knows his way in a fight.

It doesn't even matter is Scourge was actually physically weak, he's still shown the most skill out of anybody in the series (compared to the short time we see him). Tigerstar was one of the premier fighters in TPB and Scourge obliterated him with one hit. It doesn't matter if he uses a special technique to do it, the point is that he can do it, and he only lost because he didn't know Firestar had nine lives (he took all of Tigerstar's at once, so he didn't know he had to die nine times). Scourge is mad skilled, even if he's not as big and imposing as other cats in the series.

vectoring34 i didnt know brokenstar was in the manga lmao i still dont get how scourge was able to do that without the dog claws though. i wish the manga showed him training or something An evil tabby with a broken tail who came from the forest and then says he's going back to the forest because it's "where we belong" and is followed by a pack of rogues. Yeah, it's Brokenstar alright. As for how Scourge did it, it was probably a combination of being a prodigy combined with his ruthlessness. Clan cats usually posture and boast before a fight; Scourge doesn't even hesitate.

Thistleclaw did get to be a warrior by fighting a dog and all, and he is obsessed with fighting. Not sure why he is so much weaker in the DF even after everyone's training to be a better fighter, but he wasn't weak when he was younger and alive (or more likely the author being inconsistent). But him being consistently so strong when he was alive has to count for something. Brokenstar seems to be weak in all cases except when he killed Beetlewhisker and with that part it's important to note that Beetlewhisker was a DF apprentice, and he knew everything about how he fights, and also Brokenstar himself was just fresh from a bunch of DF training so he might be stronger than in the original books. Brokenstar seems to be weak in any other situation.

Other villains as prominent as him took leadership roles, while he seemed to have downgraded not only in fighting but also clout.

I personally don't think Sol is the obvious answer, although I'd obviously have liked to see him on this poll.
Sol is described many times in the books as being a very large cat. Bushy, perhaps, but the Ultimate Guide says otherwise. I think if he cared enough, he'd be a very good fighter.

Maybe, but he evidently didn't care enough to put in the work and he's described as clumsy and slow when he fights Hollyleaf. He might have talent but you need to put in the work too.

Exactly... he'd have to care enough... something he doesn't seem to do very often!

This is probably completely against canon but I picture Onestar as one big skinny wimp. :-P
