Feel free to use either cognitive functions (http://www.cognitiveprocesses.com/Cognitive-Functions/ introverted intuition first, extraverted thinking second, introverted feeling= INTJ) which I did or the standard four letter Myers Briggs methodology to reach conclusions.
Leafpool: INFP
Firestar: ENFP
Squirrelflight: ESFP
Crowfeather: ISFP
Tigerstar: ENTJ
Brokenstar: ESTP
This is how I decided on INFP for Leafpool based on cognitive functions. I know a lot of people state INFJ, but I think she uses more introverted feeling than extroverted feeling to reach her decisions. She has great loyalty to her Clan while also still possessing great love to Crowfeather. I remember reading how she chose her clan over Crowfeather not out of some love for community and the norms, but instead it was because what she loved the most. What was right to her. Even Spottedleaf I felt knew that and told her to go with her heart. Her introverted feeling hence her individual and deep love for the clan I feel prioritized all over the harmony of the clan. In the end she did it because she had to do what was right.
I also think her giving up her kits was to give them a better life. Not really knowing the full prophecy at that time and not concerned how this would affect the Clan's dynamic, but moreso doing it out of love for her own kits and in her heart, only by giving them up could she make this happiness into existence.
Therefore when going into cognitive functions, she seems to value what she feels is the most authentically right thing to do. She knew she loved Crowfeather and was about to leave, but her authentic love for the clan driven from herself is what pulled her back. She gave up her kits not mainly because of her duty as a medicine, but because she truly wanted them to live their best life and was willing to lie. That's why I feel after she was exposed she sort of gave up, she really wasn't really concerned with promoting harmony as much as her personal emotions and love for her kits.
I think she also possesses high extraverted intuition. She's always considering different options and even when judging prophecies, she usually doesn't start by building a case and fitting them to a singular conclusion, but instead moreso bounces around possibilities of what something can possibly mean. Her blood will spill blood analysis/thinking from what I remember seemed really open ended on collecting patterns (which mistaked her for thinking the Mudclaw-Onewhisker incident could have been the prophecy) instead of fixating it quickly with concepts of kinship and decisively looking towards that.
With her tertiary introverted sensing, she seems far more attuned to details from the past rather than the physical environments around her, unlike Squirrelflight. Even when dealing with patients she seems she would be less of a physical medicine cat and more a medicine cat that draws on past experiences.
Finally she seems to have inferior extroverted thinking. She doesn't really have this planning and executing logical mindset but it does appear when stressed, which may explain her shorter temper (compared to usual) when treating patients.
These cognitive functions add up to INFP and I also think she fits the usual personality profiles of those quite well.
