HibiscusClan
s h o w y o u r t r u e c o l o r s The planning page for this roleplay can be found here.
It is said that many, many moons ago, there was a she-cat who lived alone on the shore. Though there were other cats around, who sometimes came to visit and sometimes stayed for a while, sooner or later they would leave, and leave the she-cat all alone. And thus she lived her entire life like this, and though she was always sad to see her visitors leave, she never closed off her home and her heart to them. To sate her loneliness, the she-cat would visit the ocean, and pray to the spirit of the water. Each day, she would bring a hibiscus flower to send off on the waves, each one bearing her hopes and wishes for the day.
One day, a terrible storm came in from the sea, sending waves crashing heavily against the shore, torrential rains from the sky, and winds strong enough to blow down palm trees and loose stones from the hills. The she-cat braved the weather, at least once it was safe enough for her to leave her den, and traversed the rain and wind with a blue hibiscus in her jaws to give the roiling sea. No sooner had she given her gift that she noticed a splash of white fur along the shore: a cat, seeming to have washed up on the beach, nearly-drowned. Her kindness not spent, the she-cat carried the tom through the storm back to her den, where she looked after him until he awoke. He could not remember who he was, but with a pelt as white as seashells and eyes as blue as the ocean on a clear day, the she-cat couldn't help but think that he was the sea's gift for her moons of dedication.
It didn't take long for the two cats to fall in love, and it seemed that finally the she-cat had a companion who would stay with her. Before long, she began to forget the ocean and the hibiscuses, and when she had a litter of kits, she would not let them near the sea, thinking it dangerous. One day another storm appeared, much like the one that brought her mate to her. He had gone out to hunt, and the longer the storm raged on without him returning, the more worried she became. Finally, once the storm had stopped, she left her den in search of him, but though she searched all day, she never found him. Moons passed, and still he did not return, and the she-cat gave up hope.
Many, many moons passed and the kits grew older, though for fear of what had happened to her mate, the she-cat would still not let them near the sea, nor would she go herself. That is, until she was very old, and knew that she would soon die, and a white hibiscus flower grew on the bush near her den. She knew that it was time to return to the ocean, at least one last time, and so she took the flower in memory of her mate, and as an apology to the ocean for all the many moons she had abandoned it. To her surprise, as the flower touched the water, it transformed into her mate, though his pelt glowed like starlight and rippled like water. He revealed that he was, and always had been, a spirit of the ocean, given physical form so that he could be with her. But, when she stopped appreciating the sea, it had taken him back, as she did not realize that so long as she respected the sea it would protect her and her kin. Now that she had realized her mistake, however, she was ready to go with him to the sea. And so she did. HibiscusClan is a Clan set on the shores of Hawaii. It is a tropical Clan, where it is warm year-round, and the cats have a close relationship with the sea, a spirit of which they believe makes up one of their ancestors. HibiscusClan has a lot of unique traditions and beliefs relating to their origins, the story of the Flower-Cat and the Sea-Cat. Like the sea, the cats of HibiscusClan tend to value versatility, adaptation, and protectiveness. They always seek to be kind, selfless, and loyal to their Clan above all else, though kin, family, and blood relation is also more important to HibiscusClan cats than those from many other Clans. HibiscusClan cats typically seek to use words over claws, but will not back down from a fight if there is no other way. Above all else, HibiscusClan cats are taught to respect and revere the sea, from which they believe they are descended, and their spirit ancestors that reside there. They are taught to be obedient to the words and guidance of their ancestors, never to disobey no matter their own opinions, and learn that a strong morality, knowing right and wrong, and serving the greater good are the most important traits and values a cat can exhibit.
Because of the warm climate and their relationship with the water, HibiscusClan cats mostly have short, sleek fur, though some cats in the Clan lack fur entirely. Cats with longer, thicker fur do live in the Clan, but they tend to have more difficulty swimming, and overheat more easily. Most cats are bright, sunny colors, like ginger, white, or tortoiseshell, though brown and black are also common, and silver and gray do occur. Cats can be of any size, but most are either willowy, with lithe muscles, so that they can swim like otters, or else sturdy and muscular to traverse the rocky shores and hills of the territory. The Clan also boasts more blue eyes than most, as blue eyes are considered the most beautiful and speak of a greater connection to the sea. Orange eyes, on the other paw, are considered a sign of connection with fire, and therefore HibiscusClan cats tend to be more wary of orange-eyed cats. Similar to blue eyes, white fur is also considered the most blessed and beautiful, as the Sea-Cat was thought to be a white cat with blue eyes.
Since the environment and tropical, and thus there is not a whole lot of seasonal variation, the cats don't use the usual Clan words of greenleaf, leaf-fall, leafbare, and newleaf; instead, they use the twoleg words winter, spring, summer, and autumn, and these can occasionally be incorporated into cats' names. Cats do not, however, have any concept of snow or ice, and thus cats will never have words like ice, frost, snow, etc. in their names. More on the Clan's naming and other beliefs below.
Obviously, follow forum rules and use common sense. Keep language and themes appropriate, be respectful, don't start arguments, and if you have an issue with someone and don't think it can be handled politely , take it up with me or a moderator. Don't spotlight, godmod, powerplay, try to make your characters perfect, etc. etc. Don't control other peoples' characters or dictate their actions without permission. Ask before embarking on plots that will effect more than a few cats, and make sure you ask people before including their cats in plots.
Please keep the roleplay at least semi-literate. So, most of your posts should be at least a decently-sized paragraphs, but occasionally having posts that are shorter due to necessity (for example, combat or dialogue) is acceptable. On the other paw, try not to write a novel every post; keep it manageable at a three or four paragraphs maximum, except in special situations. Always use your best grammar, punctuation, and formatting. Try to keep the story going, at least in minor ways; try not to get stuck on minor interactions and details.
Be as active as you can. I can't really make a strict "be on at least this much" rule, since real life happens for me and everyone else, and there will be times when the entire roleplay lags a bit. But, try to be present when your characters are needed and relevant, and try not to be away so often that we forget who your characters are. Obviously if you have an important role, either with the Clan (leader, deputy, medicine cat) or in a plot, try to be on a bit more often, since you'll probably be needed more.
Be inclusive! Try to get everyone involved in the roleplay, and definitely don't make plots that exclude a lot of characters. That's not saying that every plot has to be a major, whole-Clan ordeal, but do your best to include the people who want to be included. At the same time, please be respectful of other peoples' plots; sometimes your characters or ideas won't really fit for what they have in mind, and that's okay.
Have fun!
Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from outside the Clan, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to the spirits for its life.
A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a outside the Clan.
The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

HibiscusClan's territory consists of the land surrounding a small cove, which is protected by the rocks and cliffs that surround it, both protecting the cove from the weather as well as the territory from most intrusion. Most of the landscape is hilly and wooded, with tropical forests of palms, ferns, deciduous trees, and vines. The open areas are just as cluttered with low-growing plants taking advantage of the sunlight, while the beaches are made of white sand and black volcanic rock. The Clan's camp is nestled in a hollow to the northwest, sheltered against a steep hillside. Besides the camp, the territory has many unique areas and landmarks that the Clan makes full use of.💮 The cove is the largest expanse of water besides the sea. On calm days, it is easy enough for cats to swim above the reefs of the cove, as it is protected by cliffs to the north and south, and the Searocks to the southeast. However, many days the deeper waters are far to choppy and the waves far too high for cats to safely swim. Where the water meets much of the land of the territory, there is beaches of white sand and coconut palms, though to the south, steep cliffs jut from the water, and to the north, rocky hills. 💮 The lagoon is a smaller body of water, sheltered from the rest of the cove by a beach of black volcanic rock. The waters here are quite shallow, and in many places, taller cats can wade with relative ease, as much of the water is divided up into small, warm tidepools with crabs and small fish and crabs. For the most part, this place is not dangerous, except for very young, inexperience cats, or on very stormy days, though cats must be cautious of minor dangers like crabs or jellyfish, or- on rare occasion- small sharks. It is a good place to practice swimming, as well as to fish or hunt for other aquatic prey, and the beach makes a good place to relax on sunny days. A waterfall falls into the lagoon to the west, fed by the only freshwater stream in the territory, which flows from the hills to the west. 💮 The Searocks are a row of boulders and stones that extend from the southern cliffs out into the sea, breaking the waves headed for the cove and keeping its waters calm. The rocks here are battered by waves and wind, and can be slippery and dangerous to cats who are not careful. On calm days, however, it can be a good place for a peaceful walk if one is cautious. Cats might also find interesting trinkets caught up in the crags of the rocks, from odd shells to turtle scutes to fish bones. It is not a particularly good place to hunt, however, and thus most cats tend to steer clear of it.
💮 The overlook is the place where the Searocks slope up to meet the top of the cliffs, and it forms a good vantage point from which a cat can see most of the Clan's territory, as well as look out over the sea. It is considered the perfect place to watch the sun set over the hills in the evening, or the sun rise above the waves at dawn. This area can also be a good place to hunt, as many small rodents and birds can be found nesting among the rocks, especially ducks and gulls. Cats must be careful, however, as the hills are steep and the footing is not always solid, and more than one cat has fallen to their death on the rocks or sea below. 💮 Deepforest is the area west of the overlook, where the forest is- surprisingly- the deepest in all of the territory. Here, the trees form a thick canopy and foliage crowds the forest floor, while hanging vines and branches fill much of the space between. This area is difficult to navigate, as it is crowded with foliage and it is easy to get lost. However, many rodents and birds can be found among the branches and ferns, so it can be a good place to hunt if cats know where they are going. However cats must be very careful not to cross paths with the large pythons that live in the forest, which may very well attack and eat cats.
💮 Blackstones is a place in the lowland just north of Deepforest, across the stream and west of the lagoon. There is a small break in the trees, filled with grass, and in the center is a small group of dark volcanic boulders. Though still somewhat rough and porous on the sides, the tops of the stones have been smoothed by moons of wind and rain and paws. It is a good place to practice climbing, as it doesn't present the same danger as the hills or cliffs. It can also be a good place to hunt, especially for small birds that come to forage on seeds and insects in the grass.
💮 The trail is a dirt twoleg walking path that meanders along the southern cliffs near the overlook, across the stream and past the lagoon, and finally through the hills to the west and out of the territory. Twolegs can be encountered frequently on this path, especially on cooler days, but they are typically easy to hide from. However, many of the twolegs come by regularly, and are familiar with the cats and know to leave them alone, and thus cats make little effort to hide from these familiar twolegs. Some, however, will try to coax, pet, and feed cats, and these ones must be avoided. Overall, the trail tends to be one of the easiest ways to get around the southern part of the territory. 💮 The meadow is an open area in roughly the center of the territory, stretching from the lagoon to the northern hills. The ground is still cluttered with thick foliage- ferns, elephant ears, and low-growing palms- but the sky is more open than in the forest, and it can be a good place to hunt, though cats must be careful of birds of prey such as eagles, and pythons have been known to dwell here on occasion as well. Wild boar are also common, and while they will mostly leave cats alone if they keep their distance, they can be aggressive if bothered or if a mother feels her piglets are threatened, and an adult can easily kill a cat with its hooves or tusks. The deer that come here are also mostly docile, but might kick if startled.
💮 The volcano is the largest mountain in the area, towering among the smaller hills in the northern part of the territory, near the sea. This area is, for the most part, just like any other, as the volcano has been mostly inactive for many, many seasons. Occasionally, small areas will erupt, with minor explosions of rock and ash and small rivers of lava which burn hot but cool quickly. Therefore, cats must be cautious if venturing into this area, but if they are aware of their surroundings, it is difficult to be caught unaware by an impending eruption. Because of the continuing minor eruptions, some areas are devoid of foliage, or the foliage is singed, and very small undergrowth fires are common. 💮 The Red Cliffs is the hilly area around the volcano, though mostly to the east by the sea. It consists of steep, rocky, and mostly-barren hills along the coast, though the hills along the northern border of the territory are similar in geography. However, the coast cliffs are named such because, when the volcano erupts, it is usually here that the lava flows, downhill towards the sea, and thus the cliffs are not infrequently painted red with the light of fire and lava. When not on fire, these hills can be a decent place to hunt, as much small rodents, as well as plenty of birds, make their nests here. However, the hills are steep, and cats must be careful not to lose their balance. They must also be cautious of the wild sheep and goats that live in the cliffs and hills of the territory- though they are typically docile, the males can occasionally be aggressive, especially during mating season, and even the females will sometimes kick or headbutt if startled.
💮 The Lost Beach is a cove of white sand and palms in the northern part of the territory, hidden by the cliffs. It is quite difficult to reach, as one must traverse the Red Cliffs, or swim across the cove, to reach it. Except on stormy days, however, the cove is quite well-protected from the elements, making it a peaceful and serene place. Most of the small beach is covered in white sand and elegant coconut palms, though away from the sea and towards the hills is a grassy area. Along the cliffside, many hibiscus trees grow, and most of the year the flowers are in full bloom, painting the beach with an explosion of color. This is the place that medicine cats, and new leaders, must come to speak with the sea spirits, as it is the place where their connection is strongest. It is also thought by some to be the place that the Flower-Cat once lived.
💮 If one follows the trail south, before long they'll reach a twolegplace. It's not a particularly large one, mostly simple twoleg nests, though few Clan cats have ventured far into it. There are plenty of kittypets and rogues here, as well dogs, and it can prove to be a dangerous place for Clan cats. Thus, they rarely venture here, and most cats have never even seen it.
The Clan's camp is located at the base of the hills, against a small, rocky cliff, and is protected from the jungle by boulders and dense vegetation. The floor of the camp is sandy, mixed with patches of soft grass, and the camp is typically dim, shaded by the cliffs and forest. Unlike most Clans, HibiscusClan doesn't have set dens for each rank, though a few- such as the medicine cat and nursery- are designated. Instead, most cats find dens and make nests wherever they can, though different parts of camp tend to be more or less reserved for different ranks. For example, the warriors sleep among the rocky cliffside, in areas sheltered by rocks or sparse bushes, or in shallow burrows dug out from the hillside, and the deputy and leader sleep in this area as well. The apprentices live at the base of the cliff, in a group of twisted bushes. The elders make their nests under the ferns growing beside a large, flat boulder in the clearing. The medicine cat makes their den on the other side of camp, near the forest, under a clump of low-growing hibiscus trees sheltered by logs and vines. The nursery is near the medicine den, in a tangle of bushes and vines and protected by a small jumble of boulders. The vines can be adjusted, moved and tied different ways to offer each queen and her litter privacy. The fresh-kill pile is located in a small burrow at the base of the cliffside, sheltered from the sun and any scavengers. The leader makes announcements from the large, mossy log of a tree that fell and now leans up against the cliffside, offering a good vantage from which to address the entire camp.

HibiscusClan has many beliefs which are unique to the Clan and very different from other Clans, and traditions that go along with these beliefs. They do not believe in a typical StarClan, for example, nor do they believe in the Dark Forest, and the ways that HibiscusClan's spirit ancestors interact with the Clans can also be unusual. Some of their naming traditions and conventions are also odd, reflecting some of their unique superstitions, especially where it regards the spirits. Finally, they have a few unusual traditions: mainly, those regarding hibiscus flowers as offerings.
Another thing to note is that HibiscusClan is unusual in that it always has two fully-trained medicine cats and (at last usually) one medicine cat apprentice. Usually one medicine cat is older and more experienced than the other, but besides that, neither one is considered the "senior" or "lead" medicine cat, and both cats train the apprentice together. The reasoning for this is that if something happens to one medicine cat, there will always be a second to finish training the apprentice, plus they can treat more patients at once.
The Spirits Rather than believing in a united StarClan, HibiscusClan cats instead believe that when they die, their spirits join with their ancestors in the sea. Thus, the honored dead of the Clan do not take the qualities of starlight like most Clans, but instead of seawater. Besides their aquatic, rather than celestial, theme, the sea spirits behave mostly like typical StarClan cats, peacefully living out their afterlives and guiding the living while they wait for their loved ones to join them. However, the sea spirits do not only visit the Clan in their dreams like most StarClan cats, and have a bit more elemental control. They cannot, of course, outright control storms, or water, but they can sometimes help to guide cats in the water, altering currents or smothering waves just enough to get a cat where they need to go, typically to safety. In addition, the sea spirits may also take the form of animals. Most cats, in life, feel a connection to one or two forms of animals- usually a bird and/or sea creature- and in death, this is the form they will most likely take when visiting the living. Most commonly, these forms are used to help guide cats who are lost or uncertain of their paths, but may serve other purposes as well.
Not all of the dead of HibiscusClan become sea spirits, however. Most do, as most cats exhibit the qualities and values of the Clan, and retain their respect and adoration of the sea for their entire lives. However, some cats turn to a darker path, either that of pure evil or one which prioritizes traits and values that the Clan sees as negative, such as over-ambition, selfishness, or spite. Others simply have no love for the sea, and are rejected from it or choose to reject it themselves, out of no fault of their own. These cats, rather than becoming the spirits of the sea, become spirits of fire. While the Clan worships and reveres the sea spirits, they hate the fire spirits, and see them all as evil despite the fact that a good many are not. Because they lack following, and because the prevalence of fire and heat is far less than that of the sea, the fire spirits are nearly powerless, unable to manifest themselves in the same way as the sea spirits- instead, they can only contact cats in their dreams, and then only sometimes and with varying degrees of success. This cutoff from the living, plus the hatred that they receive from them, typically turns even the kindest fire spirits bitter and even spiteful of the living- not evil, but simply unhappy. Perhaps this would change is the Clan's opinion of the fire spirits were to change, but under the current circumstances, that seems unlikely.
Naming HibiscusClan has a few unusual naming traditions, both with the method with which they name their kits, and the names they give them, stemming from a multitude of superstitions about the meaning and power of names.
When kits are born, they are not named immediately. In fact, kits will not receive a name until they have opened their eyes (usually at around three days old, but some kits take longer and others not as long). Before they are named, no cat but their parents and the medicine cat who delivered them (not the other medicine cat, or the apprentice) may see them, and if any other cat lays eyes on an unnamed kit, both that cat and the kit are considered to have a minor curse of ill fortune. If a kit dies before their presentation, the parents do not mourn, nor do they give the kit a name, believing that it will instead be reborn later and given a second chance at life. Thus, while parents might be sad at the loss of an unnamed kit, named kits are mourned.
Once a kit has opened its eyes at least once, it is given a "presentation ceremony." At sunset, when the first stars begin to appear, the kit is carefully carried from the nursery by the medicine cat, and still no cat but the parents are allowed to lay eyes on it. The medicine cat brings the kitten to the water's edge, where it is dipped in the water- first its hind paws up to its belly, then up to its neck, and finally fully submerged. If the kit does not cough or sputter when brought back out of the water, it is considered a blessing by the sea spirits. If the kit does cough, it is not necessarily an ill omen, but nor is the kit considered blessed in any form. Obviously, this is the more common outcome. After the kit is brought to the surface, the parents may speak its name to it for the first time. Once the kit is named, they are set on the sand and allowed to take their first steps. At this point, the kit's closest kin (besides the parents- so, grandparents, aunts, uncles, elder siblings, etc.) will lay a hibiscus flower of each color before the kit, and the kit is asked to choose one without yet knowing the meaning. The color that the kit chooses is thought to be a symbol for what the kit's future will hold, what traits they will exhibit as an adult, or else what they will come to value most, and most of the time this holds true to some extent.
Different kinds of names also have different connotations and meanings in the Clan. Names tied directly to the ocean (not other forms of water) such as tide, wave, sea, salt, etlc. are considered sacred. This doesn't mean that cats never have these names, only that these names are rarely given and only to cats who are considered special in some way- usually either white kits with blue eyes (like the Sea-Cat) kits who do not cough during their presentation, or kits who survive their first days despite great odds, though there are occasionally other situations which might call for a special name. Either way, these situations are uncommon, and do not always result in an ocean name. Other types of names also have other meanings. Naming kits after fire or volcanic activity, or anything related, is also uncommon and given only in some circumstances. These names are typically a symbol of power, ambition, and sometimes destruction, and are usually only given to kits who will face great obstacles in their lives, or who are born weak (the names being given in the hope that it will give them the strength to survive). Names relating to the sky symbolize versatility and adaptation; names relating to water reflect kindness and protection; names relating to plants represent cleverness and wisdom; names relating to stone and earth reflect calm in the face of adversary, and great resolve; and names relating to animals typically reflect both bounty (primarily in the hunt) as well as whatever quality that animal or the place it resides is thought to reflect (such as a boar representing strength, or a songbird representing freedom).
Suffixes, of course, also have meaning, but they are less significant than prefixes and are usually somewhat case-by-case, as with usual warrior names. For example, the suffix -claw could mean that a cat is quick to combat, but could also just represent strength in combat, while the suffix -flight might represent quick speed or freedom of spirit. However, like prefixes, some kinds of names are a bit more unusual. Sea and water-related suffixes are more uncommon, and like their prefix counterparts, are usually only given in special cases, often times cats who have proven themselves beyond all doubt to be a great warrior even at a young age, or else cats who likely have a great future ahead (such as becoming leader). Names relating to fire, also, are unusual, and these often represent ambition. These names almost serve as a warning to the cats it is given to: a sign that the leader recognizes their drive, and is reminding them not to take it too far. Finally, suffixes regarding flowers- such as petal, blossom, pollen, etc.- are reserved only for medicine cats, and medicine cats will always have these suffixes.
Obviously, being in a tropical setting, the cats are unaware of things like snow or frost, and thus names relating to these (or, in addition, any plant or animal which doesn't occur here- a quick Google search if you're uncertain) won't occur in HibiscusClan.
Hibiscus Offerings As mentioned a few times above, the Clan makes use of hibiscus flowers as offerings to the sea, as well as symbols and prayers in other situations, such as the presentation ceremony. The most frequent and common use of these flowers is to use as offerings to the sea, like the Flower-Cat did, as signs of their hopes and prayers to the spirits. They are also presented to newly-named kits (as described above), and placed on and around the body of a deceased cat before it is sent to sea. Flowers can also be given to or left for other living cats to mean different things, though this is fairly uncommon. Each color of flower has a different meaning, and though it typically follows a theme, these meanings can vary somewhat depending on what situation/ceremony the flower is used for, and as a prayer it can also vary somewhat depending on the context and situation the offerer is going through. Each color and its meaning is as follows:
White: the color of undying love. As an offering, it is typically a sign of loneliness, prayer for guidance in matters of serious romance or family, or a plea for the well-being of a mate or close kin (typically kits). It has a similar meaning when placed on the body of a deceased cat, and when given to the living it is a sign of romantic love- usually given to a cat who one wants to become mates with. During presentation, it is a sign that the kit will value, or at least be successful in, true love and family.
Red: the color of guidance and choices. As an offering, it is usually means that a cat is stuck between two or more difficult choices, and is uncertain what path to take, or else is uncertain how to proceed with a situation. It is typically only given to a deceased cat by former apprentices, or occasionally kits- anyone who the cat has had a significant paw in guiding and teaching throughout their life. When given to the living, it can either be an offer to help or give advice on a situation, or a sincere thank-you for help. During presentation, is is a sign that the kit will value, or be successful in, wisdom, teaching, and guidance, and will typically have their paws on the right path.
Orange: the color of power and respect. As an offering, it is a plea for the power or strength to achieve a goal, or to gain the respect of their Clanmates or one cat in particular. When placed on the body of the deceased, it is typically a sign of great respect and admiration- such as given to a dead leader or elder- but can also mean an apology if the giver feels they didn't make up for a wrong-doing while the deceased was alive, or if they feel partially responsible for the death. Given to the living, it is usually a sign of apology or concession- sort of a, "you were right" or "you win, no hard feelings," though it could also just mean apology for a wrong-doing. During presentation, it is a sign that the kit will value strength and power, or else will become a respected warrior (or medicine cat) or even become leader.
Yellow: the color of affection, friendship, and support. As an offering, it is typically a sign of loneliness in a non-romantic way, typically a sign that a cat feels isolated or alienated from their Clanmates, and a prayer to figure out why that is and fix it, though it could also mean that they need help in a particular friendship or platonic relationship. When given to the deceased, it is a symbol of a close platonic relationship- typically siblings or close friends- and a sign that the giver will very dearly miss the deceased. When given to the living, it is a sign of friendship and support- sort of a, "I'm here for you." Most often given to a close friend who is sick or injured, or going through a hard time emotionally (such as the loss of a loved one) as a sign that the giver sympathizes and is there to help if needed. During presentation, it is a sign that the kit will value, or be successful in, platonic friendships and relationships, and will be a good and loyal friend.
Blue: the color of loss and fortune. As an offering, it can either be a hope for prosperity or improvement when a cat is in a low place, or a thank-you to the spirits for giving a cat good fortune. It is, essentially, in this case the color of luck both good and bad. When given to the deceased, it is typically a sign that the cat was moderately well-respected and lived a full, rich life- perhaps not quite the absolute respect that the orange flower represents, but a more wholesome kind, a sign that the deceased's life was not wasted even if they didn't gain the high standing of a leader or great medicine cat. When given to the living, it is typically a sincere thank-you for some kind of help or advice. During presentation, it is a sign that the kit will lead a well-rounded and wholesome life- perhaps not excelling in one area, but finding satisfaction, good luck, and success to some degree in every area.
Purple: the color of serenity and peace. As an offering, it is typically a sign that a cat's life is in turmoil, or that they are feeling emotional turmoil, and that they need help to settle things, or else a hope that chaotic circumstances (such as war, natural disasters, in-Clan strife, etc.) beyond one cat's control will soon settle down, though it can also serve as a thank-you for a period of peace, either personally or for the Clan. When given to a deceased cat, it is typically a hope that the deceased will feel peace in the afterlife, that their spirit is at rest and they are in a better place. When given to the living, it often serves as a peace offering, perhaps between two rivals- not an apology or concession as the orange flower, but a sign that the offerer is done with the rivalry or bitterness (for example, two cats who both want to become deputy and develop a rivalry/dislike because of it; one decides to prioritize family instead, and offers their rival a purple flower as a sign that they no longer need oppose each other). It can also be a sign of hope of peace or closure- for example, given to a cat who is mourning over a loved one, by another cat who is not especially close to them. During presentation, it is a sign that the kit will have peace, whether that their lives will be peaceful and mostly free of major turmoil, or that turmoil in their life simply won't bother them.
Pink: the color of growth and health. As an offering, it is either a prayer for health or well-being, or a thank-you for it. It can also be a prayer or thank-you for a litter of healthy kits from hopeful (or grateful) parents. When laid on the body of a deceased cat, it is typically that the giver feels the deceased died prematurely, and had much more life to live or much more potential. It is most commonly given to young cats, such as kits, apprentices, or young warriors, but may be given to older cats in some situations. When given to a living cat, it can mean a few things. If given to a crush, it is a confession of romantic attraction- not true love like the white flower, but merely a sign that one cat would like to try being romantic with the other. If given from one mate to another, it is a sign that the giver either wants to have kits, or else that they are already expecting. During presentation, it is a sign that the kit lead and healthy and most likely long life, or else that they will prioritize health and well-being for themselves, their family, or their Clan (predictably, many future medicine cats choose a pink flower).

Though both the Clan cats and the spirits of the sea are unaware, the volcano near the territory grows stronger, ready to erupt and cover the territory in ash and lava. With each day, the power of the volcano grows... and with it, the strength of the spirits of fire who reside within. Some of these fire spirits take this opportunity to influence the lives of the living for the worse, taking out moons of bitterness on their living enemies, or their descendants. Others, however, seek to guide the living cats, to warn them of the danger they will soon face and prepare them for what to come so that the Clan might survive.
Knowing they will never sway the ever-loyal leaders of the Clan, the spirits of fire instead turn to those within the Clan whose faith wavers from that of the sea spirits- the bitter, disenchanted, or ambitious, those who they know might be more open to their message and influence. It's not the ideal situation, but trying to save those few who will listen is still preferable than fruitlessly trying to convince an entire Clan that never will. Of course, not all the fire spirits' motives, even those trying to save the Clan, are entirely altruistic. While some merely want the Clan to survive, others try to convince those they influence to take power for themselves, to forsake the sea entirely and rebuild the Clan in the image of fire.
All in all, trying to save an unwilling Clan is difficult enough in and of itself, especially with the chaos and confusion of an unclear message and so many conflicting ulterior motives, both among the living and the dead. It remains to be seen whether the spirits of fire can convey their message and get any cats to safety, let alone the entire Clan... and what will become of those who survive when the ashes inevitably fall.
** This is a slow-building plot, similar to the Dark Forest plot in canon, which will start with minor dream visits from the deceased to certain cats. Feel free to make fire spirits, good or bad, and if you would like your living cat to be visited by these spirits, just let us know so we can arrange something! Obviously, the volcano will eventually erupt, and that will effect the entire Clan... but it's your choice whether or not you want your characters involved in the build-up, and how. **

Eelstar ❀ wisdom & patience
56 moons. || male. || Aphelyon tall, long-legged black tom with warm amber eyes, long whiskers, and very short, sleek fur. He has a very long muzzle and a somewhat flat head, with large ears and a long tail. His short pelt is covered with very few but very noticeable scars, mainly across his shoulders. Eelstar is, first and foremost, the epitome of the "wise, stoic leader." He typically doesn't say much, preferring to watch over his Clan as a whole than to interact with just a few cats. Even in direct conversation, he is typically quite reserved, both verbally and emotionally, and doesn't give much of his personal thoughts or feelings away. However, when it comes to others he is never short of advice or guidance, and is quite intelligent when it comes to planning, plotting, and problem-solving, whether for the Clan or for his Clanmates' individual problems. However, he can be somewhat overbearing and overprotective at times, which typically manifests itself in seemingly harsher-than-necessary punishments for any offense which might put any cat in the Clan in danger. Similarly, though he doesn't approach an issue directly unless another cat comes to him with it first, he does tend to meddle in other cat's personal affairs if he catches wind of a problem, though small actions such as putting two cats that might like each other on the same patrols, or separating those who have problems with one another.
Eelstar is a very good hunter- some would even say master- and a fantastic tracker. He's a decent swimmer, though he's not exactly an otter, but he finds fighting tiring and difficult, and dislikes hurting other cats. For this reason, unless he absolutely has to, he will typically use sheathed claws on enemies, preferring to trap or overwhelm them as a show of strength, instead of injuring them until they run away. Warrior name was Eeltail.
parents are Sparrowfang and Longface. littermates are Sharkfang and Boarpelt. former mate is ?. son is Duskpaw.
Brightshadow ❀ determination & energy Apprentice: Duskpaw
38 moons. || she-cat. || Aphelyon well-muscled black and white spotted she-cat with light yellow eyes and a short, stumpy tail. Most of her pelt is white, except for large blotches on her back, and most of her head and neck. She has a distinct scar going across the bridge of her nose. Despite the suffix "shadow," Brightshadow exhibits a quite outgoing, excitable, and energetic personality. She's not bubbly, per se, but she is always happy interact with her Clanmates and go on an adventure. She still has an almost kit-like curiosity, though as an adult it is tempered with a measure of caution and suspicion; still, she's not one to shy away from new things. Still, Brightshadow isn't exactly "go with the flow." She likes to have some sort of plan or some idea where the adventure might lead. She likes to get her way, and though she is happy to work with her Clanmates, she can be stubborn when they disagree with her, and always assumes that she is right. Despite this, she can be a good leader when the time calls for it, especially when her Clanmates do choose to defer to her judgement; she just needs to learn to trust theirs as well.
Brightshadow is a decent swimmer and hunter, able to function in the water and bringing back enough prey to adequately support her Clan. However, her real skill lies with fighting. She is quite clever in battle and always eager to demonstrate her strength and speed, and is passionate about defending her Clan. Unfortunately, this at times leads her to be needlessly vicious. Brightshadow's kithood and apprenticeship were much like any other cat's, not much to note. She always demonstrated skill with combat, even as a kit, though this was really honed during her apprenticeship and as a young warrior. She was always close to her father Boarpelt, as well as her uncle Eeltail, though she knew that her other uncle, Sharkfang, had some animosity towards her for "stealing" Eeltail and Boarpelt's attention. Despite her flower choice, Brightshadow was always quite ambitious, and admired Eeltail as the deputy, aspiring to be like him someday, especially after he became leader. After the death of his first deputy, her aspirations were (in part) realized when he chose her as the next deputy. However, she's always been well aware that many others think she was chosen out of favoritism, being close kin to Eelstar and being so young. She can only hope to prove them otherwise with time.
father is Boarpelt. younger siblings are Emberpaw and Shorepaw. Anemonebloom ❀ maternity & wisdom
39 moons. || she-cat. || ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע As an elegant blue tabby, she sports a thick, shaggy coat of silver and white, additional streaks of black mixing beautifully into the almost smokey array. Irises of a yellowish orange adorn her facial features, highlighting her visage with a rather cordial gaze. She exudes a queenly air when walking—perhaps ascribable to the captivating, sylphlike frame of which she was born into. It gives the impression of something regal, exquisite. Do not be fooled, however, for lurking beneath the bushy arrangement of fur is a build lined with solid, tough muscle. Self-composed and wise, Anemonebloom is typically, well, swayed by nothing. She exudes the vibes of a mother, and thus usually comes across as one—docile and kind in mannerism, protective and soothing in others. She finds purpose when caring for those ill or wounded, wanting nothing more than to make patients feel safe and well-cared for. Her knack for counseling allows her to be quite sociable, making for a quite extroverted and open cat. She does, however, prefer to remain a silent observer when speaking is not necessary. Though her patience seems to appear boundless, she tends to grow weary with disrespectful and the more superstitious members, especially if they turn to viewing her eyes as some ill-omen.
Though she succeeds in the medical portion of her rank, this molly has mastered its phycological component—being able to easily counsel those recently put through a traumatic ordeal. With her already docile and maternal personality, this comes rather easily to her, with the added bonus of finding contentment in helping others strive for mental stability. Born to two dysfunctional parents in Seagulldive and Eventideshores, Anemonebloom was the sole surviving kit in a brood consisting of three others. The losses devastated her mother, which went on to be a catalyst in her pursuing affairs with different toms to help in the grieving process. From then on, she basically dropped the full responsibility of child rearing onto her unsuspecting mate, wanting nothing more to do with him nor her daughter. As such, growing up was a bit bumpy, especially with a father whom lacked the skills needed to raise a kit alone. This, in turn, forced the molly to become independent at an age far younger than was expected. Though she did manage not to splutter during her presentation, her orange eyes did wonders on giving off mixed signals, lending to some criticism here and there throughout her life. For example, when she showed interest in becoming a medicine cat, there arouse debates from the more superstitious members of the clan on whether or not she should be allowed. Luckily, the healer at the time deemed her a notable candidate to take under their wing. Albeit medicine came easily to her, she toiled tirelessly to demonstrate why she was worthy of the title, going up and beyond to prove it. Though, after an incident involving a traumatized patient, she realized one of her true strengths lay in helping client’s cope emotionally and mentally after being hurt to such an extent that counseling was needed. Since then, she’s juggled between doctor and therapist, helping many along the way. She hopes to continue making a difference to the lives of her patrons, even through thick and thin.
Dolphinecho is her half-sister. Hushedpetal ❀ kindness & loyalty
25 moons. || she-cat. || ʙᴜᴍʙʟᴇʙᴇᴇ » Hushedpetal is a petite, soft white molly with no other markings marring her pure white fur. Her eyes are a pale sky blue, and her white whiskers are very long. She's a very calm, collected cat, and her mind is always moving, always planning five steps ahead. She's a sweet cat, and very easy-going, generally. However, mess with one of her patients and she'll show you just how surprisingly vicious a med. cat can be. Other than that, she tries to make friends with everyone in the camp.
Hushedpetal is very good at recognizing plants due to her quick mind, and she has mastered the skill of level-headedness when it comes to patients and their injuries. She isn't the best fighter, but she can be particularly vicious when she's defending patients.. Hushedpetal is the only cat of her litter, and her parents were overjoyed when she opened her eyes and revealed their soft blue color. Despite this, they didn't name her after the sea, instead naming her after a very unusual habit she had - she never talked. Even now, Hushedpetal is usually quiet, so much so that it has been questioned as to whether she can speak at all. No one was surprised when the sweet cat picked a pink hibiscus flower.
relationships & kin. Cacaopaw ❀ 13 moons. || tom. || 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 A small set brown tom with striking blue eyes. He is know for his eccentric treatment of the injured, as well as his skill with herbs despite his young age. He has more than once violently threatened patients if they do not follow his orders and is somewhat forceful when checking for injuries. Going so far as to prod the area that is injured. Despite this he is legitimate and extremely skilled medicine cat and takes his job seriously and has a lot of pride about it. Anyone who criticizes his skills without proof better stay out of clawing range. When he is not working with a patient he is generally pretty laid back, preferring not to get mixed up in drama, but willing to speak his mind about it.
He is quick on his feet but with little power behind his movements due to his size. His light weight makes him pretty good at climbing trees but also makes it easy for water to sweep him away. Even though he is a medicine cat he is actually pretty good at hunting and has basic understanding of self defense.
relationships & kin. Sharkfang ❀ wit & charm
56 moons. || tom. || Aphelyon thin, slender light dusty brown tabby tom with pale green eyes, a very long tail, and large ears. He has dark stripes covering most of his back, though they grow darker, to black, on his legs and tail. His muzzle and lower belly are lighter in color, and he has a large notch in the outer edge of his left ear. Sharkfang is a shrewd, intelligent cat. He is constantly observing and remembering, categorizing other cat's traits and attachments and skills and weaknesses in case he ever needs to make use of that information. He comes off as quite friendly and charming, an attitude which is not entirely insincere- he does actually like most of his Clanmates, even if he's not particularly attached to most of them. Beneath is charisma, Sharkfang is quite reserved and secretive, always inviting others to talk to and confide in him, but giving very little of himself away. This is less with malicious intent than out of self-preservation, however, as he finds it quite difficult to trust others, and is extremely suspicious of betrayal- not of the Clan or warrior code, but of him personally, and thus he chooses to cut himself off emotionally from his Clanmates.
Sharkfang is both strong and agile, making him a good swimmer and fantastic fighter. However, he finds it difficult to concentrate on hunting, and is not the best at locating or tracking prey. Sharkfang's past is characterized by other cats going about their lives and Sharkfang, in turn, feeling personally victimized for it. As a kit, he was raised with his two littermates, Eelkit and Boarkit, by their loving parents Sparrowfang and Longface. However, over the course of his life, it always seemed to Sharkfang that all his kin left him: his father took a new mate and had a different litter of kits, his brother Boarpelt eventually took a mate of his own, and Eeltail was chosen as deputy and then leader, never choosing Sharkfang as deputy but passing over him for their niece Brightshadow instead. Sharkfang has chosen to take these experiences to heart, and has grown somewhat bitter and aloof as a result.
parents are Sparrowfang and Longface. littermates are Eelstar and Boarpelt.
Crabscuttle ❀ courage & assertiveness Apprentice: Emberpaw
34 moons. || tom. || ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע Structured with athletic muscle and sturdy bones, this creates for an overall brawny, powerful figure with a strong, solid feel. Rough fur colored in variations of oranges and cream cascades from his form in curt strands, a mixture of blackish brown streaks and rosettes decorating this pelt in a handsome array. Round, baby blue eyes complete this look. Similar to his prefix, Crabscuttle comes off as quite crabby. He maintains a barely approachable demeanor as he seems always fixed on an ill-tempered mood; usually dealing with this negative energy in scuffles or border skirmishes. When being particularly cranky, he is quick to snap at whomever, often accidentally wounding feelings. Deep down, however, he has a heart of gold, capable of being tame and gentle—even compassionate—especially when it’s towards those he knows best. He is renown for being assertive, strategic, and having distinctive leadership qualities when the situation deems it, notably when there's a need for a leader-figure. As such, he’d love to be deputy, or even leader one day.
This tom exceeds in fighting, easily one of the more experienced combatants the clan has to offer. As such, he’s often sent on policing patrols or stationed at a post to guard. However, for his skill in battle, there comes a slight disadvantage in hunting, as he is rather awful at stalking or remaining stealthy enough to go undetected. Found as an abandoned kit and taken into the clan for protection.
mate is Cloverstorm; daughter is Coconutkit. Boarheart ❀ bravery & fighting skill
34 moons. || tom. || Sparkly Boarheart is a large, muscular, dark brown tom. His pelt is patchy on his tail and legs, with some bare skin showing through. He has amber eyes, and plenty of scars scattering his pelt. Boarheart is very ambitious, always wanting to be the best at everything. He is very brave, but can be overly stubborn. He isn't the kindest cat, and holds a deep hatred for cats with no common sense.
Very strong and good at fighting, but slow in speed and bad at climbing. Boarheart had a mate, Leaflight, but unfortunately, she drowned in a storm soon after their kits, Rainkit and Darkkit, were named. Since then, he has despised the sea, and has refused to let his kits or new mate anywhere near it, and refuses to get close to the sea himself.
former mate is Leafflight; their kits are Rainkit and Darkkit. current mate is Parrotgaze.
Snakestrike ❀ courage & honesty
31 moons. || tom. || Aphelyon sturdy, sleek rich brown tom with large, round pale green eyes and small black spots covering most of his back and upper legs, with tabby stripes on his neck, face, lower legs, and tail. His paws, ears, and the last half of his tail are completely black. Snakestrike's name might seem to be a bit- or very- misleading as to his personality, implying aggression or at least prowess. Snakestrike is neither aggressive nor particularly skilled in battle- or, for that matter, anywhere in life. He is, all around, thoroughly average. Socially, he is quite awkward, often feeling a bit out of place with his Clanmates and unsure how to interact or contribute, and thus he often chooses not to at all. He can be a bit absentminded, often lost in his own thoughts and daydreams. Despite this, he is quite a family oriented cat, and cares very strongly for his sister- to whom he is quite close- and her kits. He hopes to one day have a family of his own, and is a bit of a hopeless romantic, easily developing a crush on any cat that gives him the time of day, though this is often short lived. Despite his other flaws, he is eternally loyal to his Clan, and despite his distance from them he would risk his own life to save any one of his Clanmates in an instant.
Snakestrike is quite clumsy, which often makes hunting difficult for him as moving silently does not come naturally to him. He's a somewhat decent fisher, though he sometimes loses his balance on the slippery rocks, and he's a capable fighter, but you wouldn't expect him to take on multiple enemies alone. His only real skill lies with swimming, where his strength makes up for his clumsiness. Snakestrike and Cloverstorm were born into the Clan, though their father had died before they were born, and their mother was always emotionally absent and somewhat sickly. Snakekit and Cloverkit quickly learned to rely on each other instead of their mother, and formed a close bond that remained as they grew, even as warriors. Though Snakestrike grew jealous when Cloverstorm's attention shifted to Crabscuttle, now her mate, he was happy that she found love, and came to adore their kits. He still struggles with his own loneliness at times, but has come to accept the way of things, and just hopes that life will improve with time.
sister is Cloverstorm. Dolphinecho ❀ friendliness & enthusiasm Apprentice: Sharkpaw
28 moons. || she-cat. || ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע An alluringly framed she-cat built of lean muscle and sturdy bone, giving her lissome physique something of a hardy feel. Silken, fluffy fur garbs this structure in colors of white, silver, and black, creating a beautifully streaked pattern distinctive to that of a tabby. Eyes of a vivid dark navy are accommodated in a close-set manner at the core of her face, highlighting the silvers and grays with that of a gentle, blue glow. Embodying everything her prefix represents, Dolphinecho comes off as bubbly, energetic, and outgoing—as extroverted as they come. She loves making new friends, though sometimes does not register the limit between her own social gestures and personal space. She does mean well, however. Her friendliness oozes into her enthusiasm and optimism, making for quite a parcel of positivity. Albeit this, she is actually quite sensitive, perhaps even gullible at times.
She’s a marvelous tracker and hunter, compensating for the lack of efficiency in brawls. Though terrestrially adept, this molly prefers the cool environment of the ocean, where she excels in swimming. Born an illegitimate kit to her mother’s affair with a loner, the molly was raised outside the clan for the majority of her kit-hood. However, when her parents’ relationship turned toxic and unstable, she and her three other brothers were separated in an agreement of custody—Eventideshores kept her daughter, and the loner was allowed the sons. The accord was rather unfair, considering the mother was at the low-end of the bargain, but everything went on smoothly—Dolphinecho never being able to see her family again, and Eventideshores keeping her dignity by giving the guise this child was Seagulldive’s. As a result, the molly was allowed a place in the clan, where she thrived exceptionally well in both its social component and hunting one. She loves to collect seashells and has adorned her nest with them.
parents are Eventideshores and ?. half-sister is Anemonebloom. Stormshadow ❀ honesty & pride Apprentice: Shorepaw
26 moons. || tom. || ʙᴜᴍʙʟᴇʙᴇᴇ » Stormshadow is a large, fluffy gray and black tom with a darker face and paws, and soft amber eyes. He's very honest and easy-going, but when it comes to clan-pride and loyalty, he can be stubborn as all get out. He's very intelligent and observant, but can come across as brooding and unfriendly due to his appearance and quiet manner. Because he tends to listen rather than speak, many cats fall under the impression that he's either mute or stupid, though neither are true. As an apprentice, he did have a small period of time where he was unable to train, due to an injury, but he didn't let it hold him back and trained twice as hard once he was healed, so that no one could make fun of him for having his warrior ceremony late.
Stormshadow, due to his massive stature and build, is adept at fighting, but he's also good at hunting, and tracking. due to his excessive training as an apprentice. Stormshadow was the largest and strongest of his litter, but also the most quiet and shy cat. His parents named him after a storm in hopes that he would learn to use his power to his advantage, and wreak havoc on those who deserved it. It wasn't much of a surprise when he chose an orange hibiscus. During his apprenticeship, Stormshadow had a run-in with a feral dog that left him unable to walk for some time, causing his warrior ceremony to be pushed back. He still carries the scar on his left hind leg.
parents are Longface and ?. older brothers are Eelstar, Sharkfang, and Boarpelt. Ashfall ❀ flexibility & tact
21 moons. || tom. || 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 A lithe tom with ashy red fur and amber eyes His fur is long and he has a scar on his lower front left paw that winds up his leg. Thankfully it does not affect his movement. Ashfall generally a polite cat. He's a bit reserved and speaks carefully. Ashfur does have some shades of pride, though it is uncommon for him to be too prideful. Despite his seemingly collected actions he is actually quite sly and usually knows just what to say to get himself out of trouble or to avoid doing something he would rather not.
He is an expert at sneaking around and is a skilled liar. He is also more selfish than most. This comes from being a loner for most his life and having to take advantage of everything he had. Unfortunately he had never been great in a fight and has been known to slip away or turn tail before the fight got too dangerous. This cowardly mindset doesn't swim well with the majority of the Clan. Ashfall cannot swim and prefers to avoid the water at all costs. Ashfall was born as a loner and lived like that for the majority of his life. He joined the clan around the time an apprentice would become a warrior. Seawhisper ❀ wit & kindness
18 moons. || she-cat. || ʙᴜᴍʙʟᴇʙᴇᴇ » A soft silver and gray tabby molly with intense sky blue eyes. Seawhisper is very smart and kind, with a silver tongue. She's prone to lashing out when she's angry, but she's really a softhearted and caring cat. Despite this, she can be quite intimidating, and loves to prank the apprentices by pretending they're in trouble. She is commonly seen around the nursery, playing with the kits. She doesn't remember her parents, as they were killed before she was fully weaned, but she fondly remembers the queen who raised her - a tortiseshell by the name of Willowstep. Seawhisper is very protective of kits and queens, due to her past, and is always one of the first to jump in if they're in danger.
Seawhisper is an excellent swimmer, and is one of the fastest cats in the clan, making her a wonderful hunter. She does not track very well, though, and prefers not to fight unless she has to. She can swim very well, and as such got her name for not coughing when she was dipped under the water. She was the strongest of her litter, and it was no surprise to anyone, really, when she picked an orange hibiscus. Despite her parents' passing, she remained strong through her kithood an apprenticeship, and now as a young warrior.
relationships & kin. Sharkpaw ❀ Mentor: Dolphinecho
11 moons. || tom. || ʙᴜᴍʙʟᴇʙᴇᴇ » Sharkpaw is a small black tom with thick, fluffy fur and very soft green eyes. He's ambitious, prideful, and hardworking. Everything he does, he puts in every effort. He's a massive flirt, and is usually a walking ball of energy. He loves to train and have fun, and because he s constantly playing, his fur is almost always messy. He can hold a grudge, though, and if he's really mad at someone he's willing to throw paws if he has to.
Sharkpaw is an excellent tracker and very quick at dodging, so he'd adept at fighting as well. He is a tad afraid of water, which is quite ironic, but if necessary he can swim. Sharkpaw surprised everyone, especially his parents, when he chose a red hibiscus flower, as he was very sickly and weak as a kit. His parents named him after a fierce predator in hopes that it would give him strength and lead him to greatness.
relationships & kin. Duskpaw ❀ Mentor: Brightshadow
10 moons. || tom. || ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע all in height and lean in body shape lends to Duskpaw’s overall athletic stature, though hints of a scrawny undertone is often displayed by his unusually skinny appearance. His fur is short in length, black in pigment, and only ever tufts at the base of his tail. He has massive ears that give an advantage when hunting. Beautiful chips of jade make the colors of his two eyes. Negatively, he is known to being arrogant, hot-headed, brash, sometimes even easily flustered. On the more positive spectrum, he’s a romantic dork, considerate, outgoing, and dependable. Great at stalking, hunting, and sprinting after faster prey, though bad at fighting.
father is Eelstar. Emberpaw ❀ Mentor: Crabscuttle
10 moons. || tom. || Aphelyon large, thick-furred light ginger tom with dark blue eyes and long whiskers. His muzzle, chest, belly, legs, and tail-tip are lighter in color, though not quite white, and he has a slightly darker stripe running down the length of his spine. Emberpaw is a calm, laid-back cat who doesn't really seem to take anything seriously- not training, not hunting, not even becoming a warrior. He's a bit lazy, finding it difficult to have motivation to do anything he's not interested in. He's a bit kit-like still, being curious about the world and eager to explore, but also absentminded, easily distracted, and oblivious to danger.
When he sets his mind to it, he can be a decent hunter and fighter, but unfortunately his wandering mind usually gets the better of him. He is a very poor swimmer, though- he just can't seem to grasp the movement, and ends up flailing and splashing around more than actually swimming. Emberpaw was born a very, very small and weak kit- it took him nearly eight days to open his eyes and have his presentation ceremony, and many cats were surprised he even made it that long. However, he was still weak and sickly, and thus his parents gave him the prefix "Ember" in the hope it would give him the strength to survive. It seems to have worked, as in the following moons he blossomed to a large, healthy, and curious kit, something which has never gone away. It's really no wonder that he chose a purple flower.
father is Boarpelt. older sister is Brightshadow, littermate is Shorepaw. Shorepaw ❀ Mentor: Stormshadow
10 moons. || she-cat. || Aphelyon tall, long-legged dark, smoky gray she-cat with light yellow-green eyes, and a lighter tail, chest, belly, and inner legs. The lighter parts of her pelt are striped, and she has very faint stripes on her forehead. Her paws and ears are completely black. Shorepaw is a confident, nearly arrogant, young she-cat, but her confidence is certainly well-earned. Even at a young age, she proved herself to be clever and resourceful, quick-learning, and practically fearless, though her intelligence keeps her from being outright reckless. It's no surprise then, that in recognizing her talent, plus the sanctity of her name, that Shorepaw would believe she is destined for great things, and aspires to someday be leader- a feat which certainly does not seem out of the question, as long as she can get her ego in check.
There are few things that Shorepaw is not at least decent at- she's a great swimmer despite her thick fur, and nearly unparalleled in combat by the other apprentices and even some of the warriors. She's a decent hunter, but far from the best. Where she really lacks, however, is leadership skills- she can't seem to understand when the other apprentices have difficulty with things that are easy for her, nor sympathize with them, and has a tendency to get frustrated and/or bully. Shorepaw was undoubtedly the stronger kit of the litter, eyes open, talking, and bouncing around at only three days old. Few cats were surprised when she didn't cough at her presentation ceremony, and thus her parents blessed her with the sea-based prefix "shore." This, plus the way that being a warrior came easily to her, and the encouragement of her Clanmates, meant that Shorepaw has never doubted that she was intended for great things, an attitude which has gotten her into some trouble in the past. Many cats were surprised, however, when she chose the blue flower at her presentation.
father is Boarpelt. older sister is Brightshadow, littermate is Emberpaw. Cloverstorm ❀ kindness & bravery
31 moons. || she-cat. || Aphelyon slender, long-furred tortoiseshell she-cat with bright green eyes, white wisps of fur around her neck, and a lighter muzzle, tail-tip, belly, and paws. She has very long whiskers and a plumy tail, and her thick fur makes her look much bulkier than she is. Cloverstorm, on the surface, may seem like a delicate, kindhearted queen whose main role is to care for kits. She fits the role of mother quite well, dutiful in caring for and parenting her kits and looking after them, stern and affectionate when needed, though at times she can be a bit overbearing and overprotective. However, there is much more to her personality than this: she is a true warrior, selfless, loyal, and protective of her Clan. Though she loves her kits dearly and treasures every moment of their youth, she longs to return to her duties, to hunt and fight for her Clan again.
Cloverstorm is a skilled warrior, as both a very capable hunter and fighter; perhaps not the very best at either, but certainly within the higher skill level in the Clan. However, she is a very poor swimmer, not least in part because she hates the water and the way it soaks and weighs down her long, wispy fur. She respects the sea much as anyone else, but she just can't bear to wade in farther than up to her belly.
mate is Crabscuttle. kits are Coconutkit and Coffeekit. brother is Snakestrike. Parrotgaze ❀ intelligence & leadership
32 moons. || she-cat. || Sparkly A fluffy, tortoiseshell she-cat. She has bright green eyes, which are roughly the colour of palm tree leaves. She has a fluffy tail, and ridiculously few scars. Parrotgaze, on the outside, seems cold and emotionless. She is strict towards apprentices and kits, and dislikes loud, energetic cats. She is very cowardly, and is good at using manipulation to get her way. However, she is extremely intelligent, and is good at taking initiative.
Good at climbing and can jump a long way, but is bad at fighting, and can't swim well. Parrotgaze was originally a hardened kittypet, brought along on the trail by her Twolegs. However, after she was chased into the forest by another Twoleg's dog, she joined the Clan, and became a warrior.
mate is Boarheart. adopted kits are Rainkit and Darkkit.
Coconutkit ❀ 4 moons. || she-cat. || Aphelyon large, long-legged light brown tabby she-cat with blue-gray eyes, long whiskers, and a white muzzle, chest, belly, and paws. Her ears and tail are black. Despite her somewhat willowy appearance, she is quite well-muscled for her age. Coconutkit is the epitome of an energetic, curious kit. She always wants to explore, always has something to say, and gets bored and fidgety easily when kept cooped up. She never seems to tire, though when she does it is often a sudden crash. She is determined, which can be a good or bad quality dependent on the situation. On the one paw, she never gives up on her goals no matter how hard it might be to accomplish, but on the other paw, it makes her headstrong and stubborn, a kit who will find a way to break the rules or get what she wants no matter what. Coupled with her ceaseless energy, Coconutkit has a tendency to be rather loud- not always in terms of simply yelling, but wherever she goes, she makes her presence known, and refuses to be ignored even by senior warriors. On this note, she hates being ignored or pushed aside, and is not above throwing a fit if she feels she is not getting the attention or respect that she deserves. She is a bit shortsighted, and in her eagerness to get things done- playing, exploring, or any new interest or goals- she sometimes forgets that there are dangers attached to things. She has a habit of rushing into situations haphazardly, without considering the potential (or ensured) consequences of her actions.
Coconutkit is notably strong for a kit her age, partially due to her size, and for that matter in terms of outright strength could probably overpower some of the smaller, physically weaker warriors even without any training. However, she is quite clumsy, though it is mostly that she lacks balance and agility, making her a poor climber and sneaker. However, her limited time in the water so far has proven that she has quite a bit of potential there.
parents are Cloverstorm and Crabscuttle. littermate is Coffeekit.
Coffeekit ❀ 4 moons. || tom. || ʙᴜᴍʙʟᴇʙᴇᴇ » Coffeekit is a small, dark brown tabby maine coon mix. He has a pale brown undercoat, with black-brown markings running across it in various sizes. His eyes are a pale amber, with soft green flecks. He's large, for a kitten, and will most likely grow up to be a massive warrior. Coffeekit is mischievous and daring, and loves to adventure. He tends to try to escape camp and go explore, and usually somehow drags one or all of his littermates with him.
He is very stealthy, despite his mischief, and can sneak up on even the most seasoned of warriors. He's also a very well-rounded climber, and loves to track birds up in the trees. He isn't the best fighter, but he tries hard. Coffeekit has always been interested in learning everything, so it came as no surprise to anyone when he chose a blue hibiscus flower.

She is petite, and slimly built. Rainkit is a curious and enthusiastic cat, with a penchant for exploring the territory around her. She's a quick learner, and is very kind and sweet. However, her feelings do get hurt very easily. It's easy to manipulate her into carrying out another cat's work.
Good at climbing and swimming, but not very physically strong. She is exclusively attracted to she-cats.
parents are Boarheart and Leafflight. brother is Darkkit. adopted mother is Parrotgaze.
Darkkit ❀ 4 moons. || tom. || Sparkly Darkkit is a dark grey classic tabby tom, with pale amber eyes. He has a stocky, muscular build, much like his father, short legs, and a short neck. His tail is very short. Darkkit is a brave and stoic tom, much like his father, Boarheart. He isn't very intelligent, and tends to stick to what he knows and the traditions of the Clan, rather than reaching out to learn more. He is very loyal to his kin, and values kin over Clan.
Physically strong and good at climbing, but not very fast, and a bad swimmer.

kale's characters - - IN PROGRESS
• sea - warrior, f, pan • shark - apprentice, m, bi • hushed - meddie, f, les-bean • storm - warrior, m, bi, possible eel & shark younger sibling?
• possible clover kit? if allowed Seawhisper wit & kindness
18 moons || molly || @/khaleesi A soft silver and gray tabby molly with intense sky blue eyes.
Despite her parents' passing, she remained strong through her kithood an apprenticeship, and now as a young warrior. history & other.
open to all relationships & open to siblings and other family
Sharkpaw ambition & joy ( eventual )
11 moons || tom || @/khaleesi Sharkpaw is a small black tom with thick, fluffy fur and very soft green eyes. His parents named him after a fierce predator in hopes that it would give him strength and lead him to greatness.
open to a crush and friends & open to all family. { looking for parents, and looking for littermates or older/younger siblings } Hushedpetal kindness & loyalty
25 moons || molly || @/khaleesi Hushedpetal is a petite, soft white molly with no other markings marring her pure white fur. No one was surprised when the sweet cat picked a pink hibiscus flower.
open to friends & open to all family. { looking for two parents, and possible older or younger siblings, but no littermates } Stormshadow honesty & pride
28 moons || tom || @/khaleesi Stormshadow is a large, fluffy gray and black tom with a darker face and paws, and soft amber eyes. He still carries the scar on his left hind leg.
open to all relationships & younger brother to Eelstar and Sharkfang. { looking for possible littermate(s) } Coffeekit adventure & honor ( eventual )
4 moons || tom || @/khaleesi Coffeekit is a small, dark brown tabby maine coon mix. He has a pale brown undercoat, with black-brown markings running across it in various sizes. characters ;; status ;; complete
♛ Dolphinecho ;; warrior ;; panromantic ♛ Friendly & Enthusiastic 28 moons || female || ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע An alluringly framed she-cat built of lean muscle and sturdy bone, giving her lissome physique something of a hardy feel. Half-sister to Anemonesway. Open to a mate/three brothers/father. *** Completed-- ♛ Anemonebloom ;; medicine cat ;; bisexual ♛ Motherly & Wise 39 moons || female || ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע As an elegant blue tabby, she sports a thick, shaggy coat of silver and white, additional streaks of black mixing beautifully into the almost smokey array. Self-composed and wise, Anemonesway is typically, well, swayed by nothing. Born to two dysfunctional parents in Seagulldive and Eventideshores, Anemonesway was the sole surviving kit in a brood consisting of three others.
*** Completed-- ♚ Crabscuttle ;; warrior ;; demisexual ♚ Courageous & Assertive 34 moons || male || ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע Structured with athletic muscle and sturdy bones, this creates for an overall brawny, powerful figure with a strong, solid feel. Maybe Aphelyon 's Cloverstorm's mate? Open to sisters/parents/brothers. *** Completed-- ♚ Duskpaw ;; apprentice ;; gay boi ♚ 10 moons || male || ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע Tall in height and lean in body shape lends to Duskpaw’s overall athletic stature, though hints of a scrawny undertone is often displayed by his unusually skinny appearance. Clan-born. Open to parents and three/four sisters. *** Completed

(Sorry for somewhat of a delay. I've looked over your characters, and overall they look good! Just a couple things [not criticisms, just clarifications]. Apprentices won't have virtues yet [should have specified] so while those virtues can still apply to Duskpaw, they won't be listed. Just to get a little clarification on Dolphinecho: she was born outside the Clan and raised outside the Clan for several moons, and when she was brought back the Clan was told she was full-Clan? So I assume the mother gave some sort of reason why she didn't want the kit in the Clan her first few moons? Also, Anemonesway's name: all medicine cats have a flower-related suffix [like stem, petal, blossom, etc.], so her name doesn't quite fit? I hate criticizing names but it is listed in traditions. And finally, are you finished with your forms Khaleesi? Just asking because they're a little short compared to the rest and you left history blank and also have that last empty slot [none of which is a problem, I just want to double-check]
Finally, relationships. Stormshadow is welcome to be a younger sibling of Eelstar and Sharkfang, for sure! You're also welcome to make a kit of Cloverstorm's if you want. Crabscuttle is also welcome to be Cloverstorm's mate. Also maybe Duskpaw is Eelstar's son, since they look so similar? I can't really imagine Eelstar taking a mate so maybe he was just the result of brief fling or something? And I imagine Eelstar & Duskpaw's relationship would be strained/awkward since Eelstar wouldn't be the most involved parent. Sharkpaw, if you guys made the ages the same, could also be a good littermate for Duskpaw since they're of similar ages and look similar- one just being long-haired and one short-haired- but if Eelstar is the father then giving his son the prefix Shark might be a little odd since his brother is Shark and is also still alive lol. But it wouldn't be impossible. But if y'all aren't feeling that idea that's chill.)

Aphelyon - - { Yes, sorry! Would you like me to include that in Dolphinecho's bio? The reason Eventideshores kept her from the Clan was because she didn't want anybody knowing her relationship to a loner. However, when said relationship came to an end, she just had to take Dolphin with her. She was still guilty on abandoning her last daughter, Anemone, and thought that by raising Dolphin, she could compensate for her sins. She talked it out with Seagull and, despite their strained relationship, he agreed to acting as though he sired Dolphin himself (Similar to Bluestar and Thrushpelt, for perspective). As for how Eventide convinced the Clan, perhaps she was "ashamed" she'd "had" Seagulldive's kit again, despite making a vow against loving him? And no problem! I'll pick another suffix for Anemone <333
Thank you~ Crab needs some love in his life lol. And of course! I enjoy that idea quite a lot, actually. It'll be really interesting for Duskpaw, especially how he deals with having a strained relationship with his father. Maybe because of it, he finds comfort talking with his uncle, Sharkfang? Btw, idk if ʙᴜᴍʙʟᴇʙᴇᴇ » would like to change our og plan for the litter-mates thing, but they were actually supposed to be crushing on one another :0 I'm fine either route she takes tho. }

(They look great! Love Coffeekit, and Cacaopaw is such a good name ^^ The only note I hae is that Coffeekit would have already chosen the blue flower- that happens at their naming ceremony, so basically if their eyes are open and they have a name, they've picked a flower. Also I think I'm gonna find a little flower symbol to put next to each cat's name in their flower color bc. Idk. Might be cool.)

Warrior ... ♚ | Crabscuttle | ♚ . Nursery Entrance . . ʙᴜᴍʙʟᴇʙᴇᴇ » 's Coffeekit | Aphelyon 's Cloverstorm , Coconutkit . -- Maw parted involuntarily in the gentle tug of sleep, each inhale taking the form of a sort of snore, prompting a tuft of vegetation leeway to tease at the male's rubescent interior. This instigated an abrupt choking gag, which in turn led the reposed warrior to shake out his impressive cranium and shift, alarmed, into an upright posture. Baby blues coruscated, momentarily puzzled by the derivation of rousing, until the piece of lichen that had jogged his consciousness was spat out: a wet clump atop his roost.
Grumbling in distaste and utter vexation, the male tiptoed through the sleeping bodies that made up the Clan's many members.
The morning air greeted him, warm and refreshing in feel. He'd always thought the dens too stuffy for his taste, so reveling in the raw, natural clime was definitely a change in atmosphere. Jowls took to inspiring a lungful of air, enjoying the wafting scents the beachside had to offer. His exhale came out as a pensive sigh. Cranium tilting towards his right, he vetted the prey pile from afar, distinguishing the freshly picked figures of a variety of animals. Springing over, he decided to select the plump form of an iguana and its tinier counterpart in anole lizards. Taking them all by the tail, he bounded toward the nursery, hoping to surprise its beloved inhabitants with early morning food.
He delicately dropped the prey items tucked within his maw, orderly laying it out at the entrance in order to speak without a mouthful of scales. His words came out a lot softer and gentler than he was known for, especially with the names of his family,
"Cloverstorm, Coffeekit, Coconutkit, I brought you all something."

(sorry I didn't get my starter up sooner. Ended up being kind of busy. Sorry.)
Cloverstorm tensed from her restless sleep as she heard activity just outside the nursery. For a moment, her heart beat faster with concern, before she realized it was most likely just a Clanmate- probably Crabscuttle- coming to visit or bringing fresh-kill. With a gentle sigh, the young queen carefully extracted her limbs from under her sleeping kits and sat up, quietly stepping over them to pad to the entrance of the den and greet her mate. Though she loved them to death, the kits were getting too big for the little nursery and their nest was becoming crowded. The feeling of crowding didn't help Cloverstorm, who was already feeling restless from moons of being cooped up in camp. A part of her couldn't wait for her kits to be apprenticed so that she could leave them to their mentors and return to her own duties.
Just as she was about to brush through the entrance of the den, Crabscuttle poked his head into the nursery, and Cloverstorm about collided with him headfirst. "Oh, good morning," she purred, giving the tom an affectionate nuzzle on the cheek once she had recovered from the surprise. "I see you brought breakfast? The kits should be awake before too long," she meowed quietly. "They never sleep late on days like this." She glanced over her shoulder at the snoring youngsters, before nudging her mate back outside and quickly following. "Let's not wake them just yet. I need a moment's peace," she added with a lighthearted sigh.
