Could someone please give me a few pointers on creating a clan (or some other sort of roleplay) that would appeal to people?
Also I'm not quite sure what section this thread should go in, but forum help seemed like the closest in relation, so i put it there.
Thank you for your time.

A big thing that I have found that helps is to have a basic and/or engaging story line in place. Have a problem so people can get into the story and find it interesting. Also giving your clan something that makes it different than other clans also helps, though I think the story is really what gets and keeps people coming back.

What I reccomend is planning out the rp by yourself first. Think about what the story for the rp is, and then try building based off of that. Think of rules and other stuff. Draw up as many concepts as you like, and then pick on one based on what's your favorite.
For example, you have three clan ideas to choose from: A clan that lives in a marsh and has to deal with deadly sicknesses on a day-to-day basis, a spiritual clan who falls into peril due to the ancestors suddenly disappearing, or an evil clan who sacrifices cats to a higher-up spiritual being. Whichever one you like the most, go for it.
You decide to choose one of the clans. Now, you build based off it's story. Deciding the clan name is important. What would the clan name itself to relate to itself as a whole? For example, if the clan is a friendly clan who wants nothing but peace, they could be called DoveClan, as the dove is usually used as a symbol of peace. Afterwards, set up what the clan's code is like, and what sort of punishments are given out for breaking them. After building those things, you should get the hang of what you do and don't want to do with you clan.
To be honest, creating a clan is sort of like writing a story. It's a being of your own creation, and you're creating the clan so you can build its story with and possibly make friends with other people. In conclusion, just think of what you want to do, build off of that, make sure you're satisfied with everything you've come up with, and then do it.
Sorry if this is a little bit confusing. If you need more help, be sure to call me! I have experience in running rp's myself, and I think I could be of help to you.
