Hey guys, based on this roleplay idea you are going to read, you may know what my old username was, but I never got the chance to have this rp take off and I was left regretting it never got the traction I believed it could achieve. I decided to maybe start by building a small group here and replanning it prior to launching it, as well as finding those who truly have an interest in this roleplay. Now here is the concept: What if Thunderclan wasn't the only keepers of the The Three? What if every clan had been blessed with Three gifted cats to aid them in the coming of the Dark Forest. A lot would change. Cats may not die. Fights may not have occurred. Or maybe more would have occurred. Who knows?
This AU will have a strong focus on all of the clans. Due to this, more cats were killed off between the time of Sunset and The Sight. This is due to a conflict with Riverclan and Thunderclan after the death of Hawkfrost, with Windclan aiding Riverclan and Shadowclan aiding Thunderclan. The fewer amount of cats in the Lake territory and high tensions after the battles have resulted in Starclan's creation of not three, but 12 cats gifted with the stars in their paws; three in each clan. For roleplay reasons, Tigerheart, Dawnpelt, and Flametail have all been born earlier alongside Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf.
The ideas I had for the 12 from the clans were: Thunderclan: Jaypaw, Hollypaw, Lionpaw Shadowclan: Tigerpaw, Flamepaw, Dawnpaw Windclan: Harepaw. Heatherpaw, Kestrelpaw Riverclan: Minnowpaw, Pebblepaw, Willowpaw
Basically the idea for this rp would be a Power of Three AU with a much smaller cast of characters to work with, and the extra leftover characters being able to be roleplayed as needed. The 12 are main characters, while there could also be side characters who could be important as well such as Breezepaw, Cinderpaw, etc.
What I'm looking for is people who are interested in this idea and would like to help plan out further where to go from here
Bonus if this catches your interest, character art cause I love them:

Another idea was to have events planned for each clan, kind of like breaking plots into arcs as to further push the story along

I think this is a really neat idea, and I would love to contribute!
Also, I just wanna say, I love your art style! I think it's really cute

I think it's really cute Aw thank you so much, and I'm happy someone is interested One of the things that still needs to be figured out is the Hollyleaf situation. Obviously in canon she wasn't one of the three, but I think this should apply to all the clans then as it could add conflict and differing siblings have differing reactions. So for instance here, the ones who wouldn't have powers could be Hollypaw, Flamepaw, Harepaw, and Willowpaw. I don't know what do you think?

I that would create some interesting drama for sure.
Would that mean that each clan would have a character like Dovewing be later on revealed to be the third member then?

Yeah. So they'd have to be blood related to fit with the prophecy, and that's where I'm not sure who would be the "replacement" from each clan. Obviously if we keep it, then Dovewing is for Thunderclan.
Not sure what to do with Shadowclan
Windclan I thought Onestar's sister could be Gorsetail and Sedgewhisker could be the real one for Windclan
Riverclan I'm a bit stuck on

Maybe some non-canon characters could eventually be created? I don't know.
Since we're effectively starting at The Sight though, it would be a problem we wouldn't really have to consider until we reach our equivalent of The Fourth Apprentice.
Which brings us to another question to consider--aside from there being twelve cats instead of three, how else will we be diverting from canon? Would we want to still keep some of the same conflicts or introduce something new?

While it does begin at The Sight, that is all I was planning to leave it with. The characters could have preestablished character traits, like Jaypaw's snarkiness or Lionpaw's love of battle, but events after would be open. As such, it is true that Dovewing could not exist and we could make a new character. Ultimately we could decide that as time goes on, but if someone wanted to secure it, they could make Whitewing pregnant early on with Dovewing/Ivypool.
So yeah I thought it'd be more intersting to leave it open, and if the rper wants the event to occur, then they can act on that or ask.
Since the prophecy from the books was "There would be three kin of your kin..." I was thinking every leader could receive that prophecy so the three are all connected to their respective leader. Problem is Blackstar has no family to my knowledge, so what if Rowanstar (or even Tawnystar cause that could work too) take the leadership early due to the battle prior
It also works cause Onestar's kits are a give in. And then Mistystar's son is Reedwhisker and these are his kits

Okay, I see what you mean. I think it would be a lot more fun to take it in a completely new direction, anyways (especially since I just skimmed through the wiki summaries of the PoT books and not a lot happens with the other clans until later on).
I agree that Rowanstar should become leader earlier, then.
Would you want to have pre-planned ideas for plots, maybe just to start out with, or just jump in and see what happens when we get enough interested people?

Maybe a smaller plot for each clan to start with? Nothing too ground breaking, but just gives them something to do, and it'll draw people in?

Yeah that makes sense. I have a few ideas for that:
Some big problem-animal (e.g. fox, badger, etc.) is in the territory and has to be dealt with. Pretty generic, but straightforward.
A cat (or multiple cats) has an illness that is either unidentifiable or has a treatment that is rare or difficult to acquire.
Prey starts disappearing, or turning up dead - turns out the twolegs at the horse place have been using rat poison?
Something like the tree falling in the ThunderClan camp? Camp gets destroyed and has to be rebuilt?
Something like the drought/beaver dam problem in Omen of the Stars?
These are just off the top of my head. I gotta go somewhere real quick, but I’ll prob be back with some more suggestions.

Actually I just checked the wiki and realized Onestar's sister is Ashfoot, and Ashfoot has two unnamed kits, so Gorsetail could be Crowfeather's sister even. That at least leaves her open to have a kit be the replacement. Heck it leaves Breezepaw to be open too

More suggestions: -Apprentices go to Moonpool to speak with Starclan for the first time? I could see Onestar being super proud of his kits so he sends them and Breezepaw to go speak with Starclan to celebrate their apprenticeship. This could lead to one of them, probably Kestrelpaw receiving the prophecy, but not knowing what to make of it -Apprentice tournament but in one clan, like the one they had at a gathering -Like the illness one, but this one is an infection from a battle that is unable to be treated due to a lack of herbs

So I constructed a list of things that need to be planned: -Allegiances (cats who are killed off from Thunderclan / Cats from other clans) -Powers for cats (besides Lionpaw and Jaypaw) -First plot elements to use -Family relationships in other clans to leave open options of the true third cat

For the powers, I usually like seeing stuff that isn't too crazy or flashy, or at least something that kind of fits with the vibe that's been previously established by the series. Powers in the Warriors series from what I can tell have usually been more covert than overt, meaning it has to do with giving them abilities that aren't "visible" to anyone but themselves. Yellowfang has the ability to feel others' pain, Jayfeather can walk in the dreams of others and sense emotions, Lionblaze is invincible, and Dovewing has supernatural hearing and sight. With the exception of Lionblaze, these powers all had to do with the cats' senses, and as a result, aren't things that can be visually demonstrated. Even with Lionblaze, unless cats were actively paying attention, they would just assume he was a really good fighter. Contrast this with, say, telekinesis or shape-shifting. These are abilities that a character can be caught in the act of doing, and are externally obvious. So, I personally think they don't really fit within the pre-established "rules" of the Warriors world. But then again, this is a socially-complex society of talking cats who live in the woods and regularly communicate with ghost cats, so I might be thinking about this too hard. Anyway, these are some ideas for powers I had: - "Intuition" - a power where you would just "know" information about, for example, an object just by looking at; can sense danger, or that someone is in danger; a sort of sixth sense (although this one could easily lead to meta-gaming so maybe not)
- Animal Communication - The ability to understand other animals or read their minds/emotions
- Photographic Memory - pretty self-explanatory
- Astral Projection - ability to look from the eyes/POVs of other cats/animals (but not possess them); literally walking in the shoes of others
- Limited ability to perceive intentions - can sense what others are about to do, and react to that
- Limited ability to see the results of actions - like the previous one, except you can see what might happen if you perform a certain action, but only up to fifteen seconds or so into the future

I agree that the powers wouldn't be anything like shapeshifting or anything crazy. It'd be best to have characters with powers that fit their personality. So with Tigerpaw, Dawnpaw, Kestrelpaw, Heatherpaw, Minnowpaw, and Pebblepaw needing powers, and with that list, we could probably narrow down some stuff that fits Ideas: - Silver-tongue: basically the cat has the ability to have a greater influence on decisions. Could be useful in convincing a leader to interact with a clan, get supplies from medicine cat, etc
- Power to see a cat's true intentions. Basically lie detector, but can't force a cat to tell the truth
- Dark Forest Alarm. Stupid name, but basically the cat with this power knows what cats are training in the dark forest. They may not know it in the beginning but they can sense a distinct smell surrounding the cat that is a sign of it
- Camouflage. A physical ability like Lionblaze, but just basically jumps their stealth up to 100. Blend in with shadows. maybe Tigerpaw or something
- Stay underwater exceptionally long time. A riverclan physical ability

Some more ideas: - Able to outrun any cat. Physical ability for a Windclan cat. I wouldn’t just make them crazy fast, just able to outrun and match pace with anyone
- Stamina. Inability to get tired. Some cat with crazy work ethic. Kinda meh on this one
- Ancestor Connection. Strong connection to the cats of old who have even faded from Starclan. Basically omnipotent advice. Probably limit it to their dreams only though

Oooh, to expand on the Dark Forest Alarm one, maybe a cat with that power can smell other odors as well? Like maybe it could be paired with the lie detector idea so they can smell when someone is lying, too. I think maybe the stamina one could also be paired with another ability, like being able to stay underwater exceptionally long. I'm going to try and see if I can come up with some more ideas.

Yeah, maybe pair dark forest alarm with knowing true intentions?
I think physical abilities would be fair to have since Lionpaw has one, so maybe to start one from each clan of the known two has a physical and then a “sense”?

Yeah, because I figure that way it would be a more versatile power.
We could try something like that, but if other people join in they might want to choose whatever powers for whichever cats they want to claim.

True, but maybe we could reserve powers for certain clans. Like the swim only makes sense with riverclan cats for instance.
Personally I think it’d be better to have the power set for a cat to assure it fits with them instead and their environment. But that can always be figured out later.
Does it sound good for Rowanstar and Mistystar to take leadership to fit the prophecy?

Ideas for powered cats without specified power:
Tigerpaw - power to blend into his surroundings like a shadow. More specifically he's very stealthy and quiet, and can go unnoticed. Good for spying
Dawnpaw - power to tell a cat's true intentions, including whether their lying or not. Pair this with Dark forest alarm, she senses a pungent odor when around cats who have been in the Dark forest training (would not know the connection at first, just smells bad)
Kestrelpaw - Astral projection. He can see what another cat sees (not possession, just sees for a brief moment). Would not be able to control at first but could get better as time goes on. I think a medicine cat, or just someone who wouldn't take advantage of it would be best, and Kestrelpaw seems like a good choice
Heatherpaw - outrun any cat. Only ability for a Windclan cat I can think of that is physical based and doesn't sound ridiculous.
Minnowpaw - be able to stay underwater for a long time. Maybe pair with she can also hear in water so she can spy? Or just leave it and pair with stamina. Not completely sure, but a good physical Riverclan ablity
Pebblepaw - silver tongue. Greater influence on decisions. Feel like it could be useful to influence battles or decisions so that the clans can work together in the future, or so that actions can be taken. Pebblepaw is a there so uh, he could use this??

Maybe to make Heatherpaw and Minnowpaw's powers more versatile, Heatherpaw could have unnaturally fast reflexes in general, and is perhaps able to think and react more quickly?? Minnowpaw maybe could "sense" the presence of other animals/cats in a body of water that she is touching, so she knows their exact location, in addition to being able to hear them? Although this means her powers would double as both physical and sense-related.

Ok so if that gets powers done, next would be allegiances. This is more a question of who to kill off from Thunderclan to narrow the character pool a bit down Here's the Eclipse allegiances, accounting for the adjustments like Rowanstar and Mistystar being leaders, and the fact we would be starting at the time of the Sight, so certain characters wouldn't be born yet. I choose the Eclipse allegiances because for whatever reason a bunch of new cats who were never mentioned in the first three books suddenly started appearing in this book and continuing forward. We can cut out the characters that only started appearing in Eclipse, though, if that's too many. Anyway, here they are: ThunderClanLeader - Firestar Deputy - Brambleclaw, mentors Berrypaw Medicine Cat - Leafpool, mentors Jaypaw Warriors (16) Squirrelflight Dustpelt, mentors Hazelpaw Sandstorm, mentors Honeypaw Cloudtail, mentors Cinderpaw Brackenfur, mentors Hollypaw Sorreltail Thornclaw, mentors Poppypaw Brightheart Ashfur, mentors Lionpaw Spiderleg, mentors Mousepaw Brook Stormfur Whitewing Birchfall Graystripe Millie Apprentices (9) Berrypaw Hazelpaw Honeypaw Cinderpaw Poppypaw Mousepaw Lionpaw Hollypaw Jaypaw Queens Ferncloud, mother of Foxkit and Icekit Daisy Kits Foxkit Icekit Elders Longtail Mousefur ShadowClanLeader - Rowanstar, mentors Ivypaw? Maybe get rid of a few of the apprentices too, because 9 is a lot.

Maybe get rid of a few of the apprentices too, because 9 is a lot. Agreed. So Thunderclan, we could maybe just say Brook and Stormfur went home after the battle between the clans. I'd ratehr keep their kits open as they are related to Mistystar as Oakheart and Crookedstar were brothers, so they could be an open bloodline for the Riverclan replacement. I think Hazelpaw and Poppypaw/Honeypaw (one of them maybe?) would be fair to drop as well. Hazeltail never really did much anyway, and I doubt we need both Honeypaw and Poppypaw. If we drop Hazelpaw, we could also drop Dustpelt earlier on, but leave Ferncloud still with her kits as she was pregnant going into Sunrise. Graystripe and Millie would still be gone so we can figure them out later, and Sandstorm I'm fine with killing off too. Shadowclan, while I would personally choose Tawnypelt for deputy, I don't think she can if Tigerpaw, Dawnpaw, and Flamepaw are new apprentices cause she'd be in the nursery? But we could always say screw that and Blackstar just passed so tanypelt is the new deputy. Fine with whichever. If not, I'd place Oakfur as a deputy until he eventually is probably killed off. I say we drop Owlpaw and have the starting apprentices be Tigerpaw, Dawnpaw, Flamepaw, and Ivypaw (even genders), and then Scorchpaw, Redpaw, Olivepaw, and Shrewpaw could be kits?? We could also leave out Whitewater and Snaketail Windclan we could drop Owlwhisker and Weaselfur to leave Antpelt and Leaftail open? Let's some younger cats be around that might be more interesting when interacting with characters. Then maybe use a random appearance character like Emberfoot and Dewspots and just make them older apprentices so the characters have other apprentices besides Breezepaw to bounce off of. That'd leave Windclan with 6 apprentices. Then Gorsetail could be a queen expecting kits (Sedgekit, Thistlekit, etc) Riverclan is interesting. Dapplepaw and Pouncepaw always bothered me cause they jump straight to elders in oots, so I'm biased to write them off?? idk. Plus it leaves Mistystar without an apprentice so that makes more sense. Then kill off some randos like Blackclaw and Mintfur? We can put Icewing in the nursery so there's a queen with kits (young influential characters) in every clan. We could have another apprentice or two then to interact with the Riverclan apprentices

Dustpelt and Sandstorm we could say died, and then yeah, Graystripe and Millie haven't been reunited with the clans yet. ShadowClan: Crowfrost is also an option for deputy since he was Rowanstar's first deputy. I think he ended up dying of green cough later on. I'll put it as Oakfur for now. WindClan: Yeah, we can drop the older cats, and then maybe have Dewspots be Dewpaw so that the gender ratio is even. RiverClan: Yeah, I agree with everything here. Okay, so here's the updated list: ThunderClanLeader - Firestar Deputy - Brambleclaw, mentors Berrypaw Medicine Cat - Leafpool, mentors Jaypaw Warriors Squirrelflight Cloudtail, mentors Cinderpaw Brackenfur, mentors Hollypaw Sorreltail Thornclaw, mentors Poppypaw Brightheart Ashfur, mentors Lionpaw Spiderleg, mentors Mousepaw Whitewing Birchfall Apprentices Berrypaw Cinderpaw Poppypaw Mousepaw Lionpaw Hollypaw Jaypaw Queens Ferncloud, mother of Foxkit and Icekit Daisy Kits Foxkit Icekit Elders Longtail Mousefur ShadowClanLeader - Rowanstar Deputy - Oakfur, mentors Tigerpaw Medicine Cat - Littlecloud, mentors Flamepaw Warriors Tawnypelt Smokefoot, mentors Ivypaw Toadfoot Crowfrost, mentors Dawnpaw Kinkfur Ratscar Apprentices Ivypaw Tigerpaw Flamepaw Dawnpaw Queen let's say Snowbird Kits Scorchkit, Redkit, Olivekit, Shrewkit Elders Cedarheart Tallpoppy WindClanLeader - Onestar Deputy - Ashfoot, mentors Emberpaw Medicine Cat - Barkface, mentors Kestrelpaw Warriors Tornear, mentors Harepaw Crowfeather, mentors Heatherpaw Whitetail, mentors Breezepaw Nightcloud, mentors Dewpaw Leaftail Antpelt Apprentices Dewpaw Emberpaw Kestrelpaw Harepaw Heatherpaw Breezepaw Queen Gorsetail Elders Morningflower Webfoot RiverClanLeader - Mistystar Deputy - Reedwhisker Medicine Cat - Mothwing, mentors Willowpaw Warriors Voletooth, mentors Minnowpaw Mosspelt, mentors Pebblepaw Beechfur Rippletail Dawnflower Otterheart, mentors Nettlepaw Pinefur, mentors Robinpaw Rainstorm Duskfur, mentors Copperpaw Apprentices Willowpaw Minnowpaw Pebblepaw Nettlepaw Robinpaw Copperpaw Queen Icewing Elders Heavystep Swallowtail Stonestream

So Shadowclan, I realized we don't have those options for Rowanstar's kin, as he kinda just appeared out of nowhere. So what if we make Cedarheart his brother, since they showed up at the same time in the books? I know Cedarheart is an elder but it could just be a Longtail situation where he retired early due to an injury. Then his mate could be the one carrying the kits, whoever it is (thinking Kinkfur?), later on.
Snowbird works as to be in the nursery since she becomes pregnant in Outcast so we can just push it a bit earlier like icewing
