{ t e a k t u f t } with crocodileblood camp
In midst of burying the mouse's bones, Teaktuft heard a familiar voice approach her. It was none other than Crocodileblood, just the tom she had been looking for earlier. His timing was impeccable to the guard, that was for sure. Shaking out her feathery pelt, the brown tabby mewed, "I definitely am! How are you, Crocodileblood?"
It wasn't too often that Teaktuft was in a cheerful mood. She was more mellow, if anything. Today, however, was different; she had more energy and was in good spirits. The she-cat rose to her paws before smoothing down her chest fur and turned towards the cream tabby tom. "Sure, why not? I'm up for a hunt," she answered, gazing around camp. "I don't blame them, the humidity does put a damper on any duties. It's a drag to even get up, really." coding by officialrainleafwcf

{ t h y m e p u r r } with duckthorn camp Had Thymepurr noticed Duckthorn before he had approached her, she wouldn't be squirming in her fur right now as he encircled the she-cat. Her personal space was violated by a tom like Duckthorn, who was known for avoiding authority. As soon as he sneered at her, the blue point Siamese shifted in place and took several steps back so she wasn't as close to him. "Good hiding spots? Are you sure you're not looking for one, Duckthorn?" she scowled, glaring at the warrior. "I heard Crocodileblood is around here."
The fact he had insulted her laziness, which she would never admit to, hurt the small feline. How dare he call her out just because she was a bit lazy! He wasn't any better by far and Thymepurr planned on making sure the orange-ginger tabby knew it.
Taking a deep breath and wiping the sting of his words off of her face, Thymepurr stood tall before the small tomcat. Without her size, she held little to no confidence. "What makes you think I'd take one of those spots?" the warrior hissed. "You know, Duckthorn, I think you would fit just fine in a snake infested pit. After all, you're one of their kind. Now beat it or I'll be sure to cause you trouble!" coding by officialrainleafwcf

Vanillapaw nodded and slowly ducked deeper into the water, her ears flat to her head. She glanced from the forest to the rock with the herbs on it, back and forth, making sure neither got hurt. The clearing fell silent. Then, more rustling; it grew louder and stronger until a monkey, definitely larger than the apprentices, burst out of the undergrowth. Seeing the cats, it screamed and lunged at them.

Antflight paced next to the camp entrance, looking much more troubled than normal. Jasminepaw wasn’t in camp or her nest, and she would have definitely been awake right now. Knowing her, she had left to do something on her own without telling anyone. However, the small warrior was more worried than angry. If something were to happen to her, Antflight would only blame herself. But she trusted her apprentice, and intended to wait for her return, but her usually abundant patience was running thin.

{ orchidpool - wildclan camp - Sand }
The silence around Orchidpool was serene. Almost too serene; it was very unusual for the normally noisy warriors’ den. The slender white tabby was spread out languidly in her nest, which was also not a common thing. Normally, there were cats were pressed up against her and forcing her to stay in one position for the entire night. Not very comfortable. Orchidpool lay half-asleep, a peaceful look on her face as she rested. Then things started to click in her head. The only reason why it wasn’t noisy in the den was because nobody else was in there. She was able to splay out on the ground since no other cats were crowded around her. The warrior’s blue eyes snapped open and she sat up, gazing around. She’d overslept! Guilt coursing through her body, Orchidpool rushed out of the den, squinting up at the sun. It was nearly midday. The pale tabby frowned; why didn’t anybody bother waking her up? She gazed around frantically for her apprentice, hoping she hadn’t kept Cashewpaw waiting too long. Orchidpool spotted him in the clearing, so she hurried over to him. “Sorry, Cashewpaw, I overslept. Have you waited long?” { cinnamonpaw - wildclan camp - Darkηesque }Cinnamonpaw had only just gotten up and immediately headed for the fresh-kill pile. After a restless night of sleep, he still was groggy with sleep and would much rather be in bed. The apprentice was normally a hyperactive cat, but if he doesn’t sleep well, he can be as slow as a snail. His body kind of dropped as he walked to the pile of prey, another uncharacteristic action caused by little rest. He selected a mouse and hauled it to a spot on his own and began wolfing it down. Cinnamonpaw suddenly realized he had a day of training ahead of him and nearly groaned aloud. He would much rather be sleeping. He ate slower now, reluctant after his realization. He glanced around for his mentor, Cloudchaser, half-hoping he wouldn’t find the reddish-brown apprentice.

Duriantail laid in the corner of camp, waiting for the humidity to go away so he could head out and hunt. He had done so at the crack of dawn, only catching a bird before the heat caught up quicker than he expected. He wanted to be alone, but not dying as well, so he came back to camp and left the magpie for another cat to eat. Now he was watching cats dash to and fro and hoped no one noticed him before later in the day. He cleaned his long fur in the meantime.

Papayarun watched the camp quietly from the nursery. A tiny, somber smile cracked her face. Though her eyes trained on her many hot clanmates, her gaze was glazed over and distant. Sometimes, just sometimes, she could hear the small voices of her unborn, deceased children. Other times, she could see them amongst the stone walls. It was best not to indulge in these hallucinations...

... ↪ nissa, jasmine and ant are so cute and gonna be a perfect match dhjdnsmka
yes good i was saving cloud for you, cloudy lol tbh they're pretty perfect for each other too
fog did a good job arranging mentors c:
... ↪ • Duckthorn w/ Thymepurr -- While her words cut under his skin a little bit, Duckthorn actually enjoyed the sass of someone fighting back. It was amusing to poke fun and have someone reltaliate. Almost hoped he could get a couple more jabs in before his victim stormed away, as they usually do.
"Snakes aren't a good match up for me though. They'd all be dead before one could get a bite in," he puffed, trying to make his small stature look taller. "Why hide when you can leave before someone grabs you for patrol? That's what I planned on, but now I'm interested in the trouble you're going to give me."
--
• Cloudchaser requested by Cinnamonpaw -- Unfortunately for Cinnamon, Cloudchaser happened to see it unfold. Now he had to go lay down the law, but it was impossible for him to be too hard on anybody. He sighed to let his apprentice know his presence as he approached him by the fresh-kill pile which was out in the open for anyone to see.
"Do we have to go over the code again?" he breathed and calmly dragged Cinnamonpaw's prey over in front of him so that it would appear to be his meal instead. "If anyone else saw you, you'd be punished in a heartbeat. No food until your chores are done, remember?" Cloudchaser meowed, keeping his tone light and playful.

{ cinnamonpaw - wildclan camp - Darkηesque }
Cinnamonpaw looked guiltily down at the mouse that he had only taken a few bites out of. Then his amber gaze traveled to his paws, still looking ashamed. “I know,” he muttered, pawing at the ground. “I didn’t sleep well and I didn’t think. I’m sorry.” The apprentice raised his head, a small gleam of appreciation in his eyes. He was very glad to have Cloudchaser as his mentor; the easygoing cat was pretty lenient and often his apprentice out of trouble. Cinnamonpaw felt like he didn’t even deserve a mentor like him, with how forgetful he could be. His stomach rumbled, distracting him from his thoughts. “Thanks. I won’t do it again.” His amber eyes grew round with earnestness. “Honest.”

"Of course I can catch that rabbit," Foxpaw retorted, stretching her paws out before her. She flexed her claws, digging them into the earth. There was a glint of determination in the depths of her eyes and the apprentice lashed her tail. "You'll see, Leopardhawk!" And so the apprentice took of in a quick prowl. Silent as she could manage, Foxpaw stalked through the jungle, her pale gaze flicking back and forth for any sign of movement. The rabbit's scent was growing stronger with each passing second - and then she saw it. Furry white tail wiggling as it nibbled at greenery on the ground. A smile curled Foxpaw's lip and she slipped around, trying to find the best angle. What the apprentice seemed to forget... The way the wind blew mattered. In a split second, the rabbit was back on its haunches, nose twitching wildly. That was when she realized her mistake. Bee-brain... At the same moment, both creatures took off, predator and prey now tearing through the forest. Leopardhawk silently follows after her apprentice and goes a little faster once the apprentice took off. She races after Foxpaw making sure not to cause to much noise. She glances around making sure no predators were near by. Leopardhawk notices a large tree and climbs up the tree. She looked down waiting for the Foxpaw to catch the rabbit.

... ↪ • Cloudchaser w/ Cinnamonpaw -- It was easy to tell his apprentice was being truthful and he couldn't help but let out a purring chuckle in response. "I believe you, which is why I'm giving you permission to eat," Cloudchaser meowed and moved the mouse back over to Cinnamonpaw. "Now there can't be any consequences."
Really, even if Cinnamonpaw happened to do it again, Cloudchaser would just keep letting him off the hook. No food until an apprentice's duties are done? How were they expected to do a good job on an empty belly? It was one of the things he wished to change about the clan, but there would never be change. All his ideas would continue to go unheard of.
"But this does mean we have to go out and do something once you're finished," Cloudchaser mentioned with mouth tilting in a half frown. "And to tell you the truth, I'm not really looking forward to it either." It was fair to admit it. The only reason he didn't want to go train was because of his pelt. Cloudchaser had to have one of the thickest and most unruly coats of fur in the clan. Dry season was horrible, but the humidity of the wet season was arguably worse. He couldn't even wish for rain because a drenched abundance of long-hair didn't make anything better. Today was particuarly bad for both of those scenarios, the latter storm to be expected soon. "I'll think of something easy on us both."

Unfortunately for Foxpaw, her legs were growing tired and the rabbit just seemed to have a tireless amount of energy. With a strike of inspiration and a dash of desperation, the ginger cat cut left to try and cut off the prey's path. And it seemed like the ancestors were permitting her to make this kill, for a moment later, the rabbit veered right towards her. Luckily, it realized its mistake too late and Foxpaw was able to pounce on the creature and nip its neck. "Oh, White Fang," she panted, flopping down onto the jungle floor in a heap of exhaustion, "Thank you for letting me catch that."

"The clan needs to eat." Crocodileblood huffed with a shrug. No matter the weather, the clan needed food and he hated to admit it, but he could see a lot of his clan had become lazy in the last few moons. That wouldn't do. He'd have to think of a way to whip the back into shape. Maybe a sparring tournament of some kind... "Who else do you think we should?"
--
The monkey's scream froze Tortoisepaw to the core. She glanced at Vanillapaw, eyes wide, then to Jasminepaw. It was only when it was right in front of her nose that she was able to strike at it, more of a flail really, with her claws scraping its shoulder. The creature screeched and swung its arms toward Jasminepaw, eyes filled with rage now that it had been injured.
"I don't think we can kill it!" Tortoisepaw yelled over the noise. "We have to scare it off!"
--
((Poor Orangeblossom should have been a medicine cat. ): She doesnt have the constitution for this lifestyle.))
"Sorry..." Porcupinepelt murmured, his ears drooping slightly at her tone. He had meant to cheer everyone up but he probably made it worse. WHen Orangeblossom plastered herself in between the two toms, he leaned in close with a smile. "Hey, it'll be fine, okay? In and out of the jungle, then we're home."
At least, he thought so at the moment. It didn't take too long for him to realize how tense Twistedivy had become and he went on high alert. "Twistedivy? What is it?" he asked quietly, his eyes trying to find the danger to the patrol in the dark of the canopy.

Vanillapaw was frozen, eyes wide and her jaw dropped. That is, until the monkey scratched Tortoisepaw and sent Jasminepaw flying into her. Her fur bristled, but she was too afraid and inexperienced to head into the fray.
The chimp quickly took the chance and grabbed the herbs with its weird paws, then dove back into the forest, grunting and screaming as if in victory. “The herbs!” Vanillapaw cried. She dashed out of the water and toward the monkey, slipping and falling into the sand, but it was too late. All that was left on the rock was one stalk of turmeric it had left behind.

Twistedivy froze. Rather awkwardly positioned, by the way, because of his front leg. That would ache him later, especially with all this walking. But he would hide it like usual. The sounds he was hearing was now accompanied by a very distinct smell. A clear scent-trail befell them now. 'Monkey...' So then, he was hearing pant-hoots. Their weird language. It wasn't just one he heard, though. There had to be a couple or a troop out here. Why did they seem so agitated?

Twistedivy's chin angled downwards, eyes narrowing at the sounds. It was somewhat relieving to finally know its source, but only just. "I don't like how close they are to camp..." He wanted to investigate further. Why were they in the Marshes? It was sticky, dangerous, and humid here. That was the strangest bit. But for now, it was more important to report this to Crocodileblood...before an actual crocodile ate them up.
(How do y'all feel about a secret monkey army plot somewhere down the road? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) )

( I'm down for it. Monkey come get us )
Pride filled Foxpaw's chest and she sat up, eyes twinkling as she looked up at her mentor. "Thank you, Leopardhawk," she purred, ducking her head a little embarrassment. She thought for sure that her mentor would get on her for allowing the rabbit to catch her scent.
