NOW onto the story!
Hell broke loose when she was taken. Toothless was sent out with a bunch of others to try and find her. Solstice Hofferson-Haddock. The young five year old of Hiccup and Astrid. She was taken by a white dragon who seemed to have no interest in hurting the young tiny girl.
Toothless cried out for the young girl that had loved him as much as her father did before they had to turn back.
“Hiccup, did that dragon just disappear into the fire?” Astrid asked, flying up beside her husband on her dragon Stormfly.
Toothless was growing agitated as he continued trying, but hiccup pulled him back. “Toothless no! She’s gone!” He snapped. He looked sadly at Astrid. “Yeah... it did. I...” he sighed and looked towards the way the dragon disappeared with their daughter. “Let’s head back to Berk, Astrid. We’ll send out search parties right away. I’ll lead them. We can’t give up on her.” He growled before turning Toothless to fly back to the island.
It’d been months since the last search. Astrid told Hiccup that everyone was exhausted.
“Babe I know you want to find her. I do just as much as you, but we cannot risk tiring out the dragons anymore than they are with the constant search parties. Just look at Toothless! He’s getting tired by the minute. Please, Hiccup.” Astrid grabbed her husbands hand before he could climb onto the saddle on Toothless’ back. He looked at Astrid and frowned.
“But our little girl is out there, Astrid. I can’t stop until I find her.” He whispered softly. Astrid grabbed his other hand and sighed. “We’ll continue when everything is caught up again. But for now we need to focus on our tribe. The Berkians can’t continue on without their chief, Hiccup. Please.” Hiccup sighed before nodding slowly and stepping back. He looked at the cloudy sky and frowned. “Dear gods, please bring her home safe...”
It had been nineteen years, now. A year after Solstice went missing, Fishlegs had married Heather and had their first kid, Rain. His original name was Oswald but Hiccup nicknames him Rain, and well it stuck. Heather wasn’t too happy, but Fishlegs insisted. Rain was now eighteen and the leader of the dragon riders while Hiccup was working on his Chiefly duties.
Sitting in his hut, Snotlouts own daughter with Ruffnutt barged in, her blue eyes wide as she raced up to Rain. “Rain! We spotted a dragon and rider on the south shore!” She exclaimed.
Rain got up and followed her out. Her got on the back of Toothless- Hiccup had asked him to Ride Toothless for the day since he was in the Main Hall making preparations for new equipment. His own dragon, Thunder, a Purple and blue Skrill, was right behind him, following quickly. Ace followed quickly on her blue Deadly Nadder, Tundra. The rest of the riders followed quickly, heading towards the south shore.
Toothless landed and looked at the body of the white dragon and the body on the girl. He whipped his tail before looking at Rain, who was walking closer to the body. “It’s obviously not one of our riders!” He told the others. He carefully healed down and examined the dragon and female that laid motionless on the sand. Toothless made his way over for a closer look before he started freaking out and licking the young female. He purred and growled, trying to wake her up.
“Toothless calm down!” Rain exclaimed, trying to pull the nightfury off of the young girl.
The white dragon beside them began to stir before getting up and jumping over the females busy. It growled and got ready to fire before there was a loud “wait!” From beneath the dragon.
“Anistar no! We don’t hurt other dragons!” The female had woken up and the white dragon climbed off her carefully. The other humans were shocked as they stepped back and eyed the two.
Toothless on the other hand cooed and purred, trying to get close to the girl.
She noticed and looked at the black dragon. Blue eyes widening, she stood slowly. “T-Toothless?” She breathed before commanding the white dragon to stay. She rushed over and hugged the black night fury as he did the same. “I finally found you! Oh my gods!” She cried.
Ace grabbed Rains shoulder. “Who is she?” She asked softly.
Rain shook his head and shrugged. “If I knew I would’ve told you.” He stepped foreword but the white dragon hopped in their way, growling and glaring at them as if to tell them to keep back.
“Oh Anistar it’s okay.” The female breathed and hobbled up behind the white dragon, holding on to Toothless’ head for support. Her legs was broken, and blood dropped down her shin. “I’m Solstice. Solstice Haddock. And I’ve come home.”
“Hiccup? There’s someone in your hut that wishes to see you.” Gobber spoke up as soon as Hiccup had left the Main Hall. The Viking nodded slowly before heading to his hut where Astrid was waiting outside with Rain, Heather and Fishlegs.
“What’s going on?” Hiccup asked with a frown. He looked at Rain. “Where’s toothless?” He narrowed his eyes.
Rain gestured to the door, silently telling both Hiccup and Astrid to go inside. He followed behind them. Toothless was inside and had his head rested on the edge of Hiccups old bed. The one he laid in before Stoick has passed and before he slept on the Edge.
Laying on the other side was a white ... night fury?
“What? Where’d he come from? Another nightfury!” Hiccup exclaimed. Astrid whacked his arm before pointing to the bed where Solstice was passed out and under a blanket.
Hiccups green eyes widened and he ran over, dropping to his knees. “S-Sol...” he breathed.
