The fact that Kate Cary is writing this book is both a blessing and a curse. Unlike Vicky (Who put him in Starclan) who like some fans, blindly love him solely based on the fact he 'relatable for being friendzoned':
Kate understands the situation much better: "I feel Ashfur had a major hissy fit because he wasn't going to get to be on the A list, and it’s hard to respect him for that.". So it's unlikely we'll be getting glorified of him. However, at the same time, we may get demonization of Squirrelflight due to her being one of Kate's least favourite characters.
That aside, how do you want the book to be written? Which time should it be set in? And how should Ashfur play a role? It's mean strange if he wasn't at least mentioned.

“relatable for being friendzoned” that relatable feeling when your crush turns you down so you attempt to kill her children in front of her

but for real. as much i dont want ashfur to play a big role, if he does he better be an antagonist and not some made-up crap about how squirrelflight actually had feelings for him or whatever
